  1. I'm also more than a little annoyed that they knew this could be the last season and did so little with Penelope's character. She was treading water and only toward the very end of the season did she get more of a chance to shine. Such a waste of Justina Machado's talent.
  2. Sex Education. A young gay black man is often tormented at school and one of the main voices is the young white son of the administrator, or whatever the term may be. At the end of the season they have detention together and he stands up for himself during an argument, which leads them to fight. He spits on the racist white guy, who then spits on him. "He Hit Me And It Felt Like A Kiss" plays on the soundtrack as they make out. The racist white closet case tells him not to go anywhere near him afterward, but does touch fingers with him when no one is looking so...yay....I guess....?!?!? The character is written out so maybe if enough people were unhappy he will stay away, but it was disturbing to me to see Netflix jumping on this bandwagon of material that promotes whites abusing or having power positions over blacks as sexy and kinky.
  3. ODAAT was one of the only reasons I have kept my Netflix subscription. I'm not surprised by this news - and the last episode felt like a complete wrapup of the show with a very gentle little teaser at the end for a possible fourth season - but I'm disappointed. And it really tells you the lie that is Netflix quality television. They keep shows that encourage teenage suicide, shows that employ alleged sexual predators, keep shows that encourage a "love story" between a young gay black man and the young white man who subjects him to racist attacks and spits on him, yet they have no time for this show. Shameful. Most shameful of all because it's not even surprising.
  4. How do people manage to deal with this from Mika without just walking out? The smugness, the vacuousness, and worst of all, that terrifying perma-smirk from the hackwork done to her face? She is just worthless. Elizabeth Warren is a better person than me. And I'm glad that she isn't falling for the traps the media set about how much we need to respect hatemongers.
  5. I think they overlapped by about a year. I'm not sure. This reminds me of the story of how Jodie was supposed to be a bad girl but Lori's mother got them to change the writing. I guess the casting people had the right instincts... EON was such a wonderful show, it still holds up so well. It's a shame that the only time I've heard about the show in the midst of all this is when it was mentioned as being what Lori Loughlin was doing at the time she did tampon ads for P&G that involved her doing fake rowing (and the tampons had to be pulled because of toxic shock syndrome).
  6. Meanwhile, Alison Sweeney flashbacks the moments she encouraged Lori to go through with the scam, only to tip off the feds. She smirks to herself as she says, "You've never left me, Sami." (obviously this did not happen...)
  7. Eva still looks dead in the face. All these years later I still think Yaya should've won.
  8. More of Trump cutting off access of legal immigration (and notice how the people who claim to only care about stopping "illegals" also stay quiet for this, since they really just want us walled up). https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/12/citizenship-immigration-international-offices-close-1218137 Dick Cheney having a word with our terrifying VP because Trump is getting in the way of his warmongering. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/11/cheney-mike-pence-foreign-policy-1216663 I can imagine he probably realizes how much Trump has damaged their ability to pull coups in countries like Venezuela. I still remember that moron Crenshaw putting out a video to the Venezuelan people, as if any of them give a rat's ass about him (the ones that even have electricity). You notice you hear less and less about Venezuela now that they realize the coup has failed.
  9. The show has already wrapped I think.
  10. I went to her daughter's "beauty and makeup" channel on Youtube and people were swamping her with negative comments. I wonder how much longer that will be up.
  11. The part that gets me is that the ones who had their kids dress up to pretend they were star athletes. The kids must have been in on it but the ones who weren't - it's like something out of one of those 'wacky family sitcoms with screwed up parents' ABC loves these days. I think there must be people at Hallmark who have committed worse crimes, I just wonder if this is one of those scandals that hits too close to home for their viewing bracket. I don't think she or Felicity deserve to be banished (it is something that is very common - the people running this scheme must have keyed the wrong person's car or something). I wish this could lead to some positive changes in higher ed. We all know it won't of course.
  12. I've always thought William H Macy was a brilliant actor - I still do - but he's so good at playing seedy characters I've sometimes wondered if he was a bit of a grifter at heart. I guess he was as he managed to get out of the charges... Felicity's played so many unlikeable characters but I just figured it was down to her acting abilities. This is what her characters would do too. Life imitates art I suppose. I'm not sure this will affect her career as it's always been off the beaten path anyway. I'm not as surprised about Lori, for some reason. This is really going to ruin her Hallmark career, because their core audience is probably parents and grandparents seething at this news. Imagine if Mike Karr had to prosecute her and Draper was defending her? Henry Slesar is somewhere writing up the scripts as we speak.
  13. I'm not sure why he's even running. I guess he sees it as a way out of being mayor? The first replies in that tweet were criticizing him for talking about scripture, so he really isn't going to appeal to anyone. Maybe he can get a Cabinet position, although I doubt the Republicans in the Senate will confirm an openly gay man.
  14. I was watching an old John Mulaney (the stand-up comedian) interview and see that he named his frequently-mentioned dog, Petunia, after Tamara Tunie due to her role on SUV.
  15. Victoria Catlin was so wonderful as Blackie - beautiful and off-center in that perfect David Lynch way.
  16. Didn't you get the memo that only liberals are anti-Semites? This will be ignored. Or praised.
  17. He's a rich kid who has never had to grow up. He knows he can say what he wants and mostly get by, especially now that he's on Faux News. Sure enough I saw people immediately defending him by saying we shouldn't bring up the past, even though he was raking Biden over the coals for past statements only days earlier. Republicans can do whatever they want and never suffer for it.
  18. It's a shame Dionne Warwick ruined her voice. She had such a precious, unique instrument.
  19. Just the latest reason I don't trust NPR.
  20. Most of the time Andy only cares about juicy stuff - sex, bitchy comments, etc. This probably wouldn't have interested him. At least he didn't trample all over the caller, I guess.
  21. This is how many on the far left feel about him - many loathed him even more than the right did. I suppose her mistake was saying it in print, but she might as well have just owned up to it and told why she felt that way rather than go all "fake news."
  22. https://www.tmz.com/2019/03/09/r-kelly-pays-child-support-released-jail-cook-county-drea/ Not a surprise. I know some feel that he is paying his own money and is just hiding it, but I actually do think these gullible, broken people are paying his way.
  23. Apparently there were also rumors that she racially segregated writers.
  24. It looks like Caitlyn Jenner.
