  1. Yes, but many people loved Jock, and then Jim Davis had actually passed away in real life. I can see why they were put off. Imagine if BBG had passed away and they kept trying to bring poor Donna Reed in as a not-really-dead Miss Ellie. Even recasting Miss Ellie with BBG still alive upset many fans.
  2. Another big business Republican to be replaced by a grifting lunatic, I imagine. This gives Pelosi a little more room for difficult votes.
  3. @I Am A Swede an original airing of a 1990 episode. Emmerdale - Episode 1512 - Thursday 6th December 1990 - YouTube
  4. She was sent packing sometime in 1977, I think. I don't remember if she even made it to Monty. I think she is in some of the 1977 clips on Youtube.
  5. Twitter is mostly down right now, but Weiss was also cheerleading for the loathsome Amy Chua (whose husband is an alleged predator and who also allegedly helped find attractive young female clerks for Brett Kavanaugh). https://abovethelaw.com/2021/04/amy-chua-defends-herself-and-floodgates-open-with-alums-calling-bs/ I don't know if anyone outside of other grifters has any respect for her now, but if they do, they are damn fools. You probably already saw it but Politico was working hard yesterday trying to drive more of a wedge between AOC and Pelosi (I didn't see much response from any of them - I suppose at this point AOC being nearly as loathed by the dead-end left as Pelosi is makes conflict less likely) and also cheering loathsome Joe Scarborough for berating Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney about "defund the police" (he blew up after Maloney rightfully dismissed that as a talking point).
  6. I don't buy any of this from them. They will probably form a new caucus under a slightly less ugly name and then we will be invited to praise them for their moderation. It's all a game.
  7. It's something that Jane Wyman, who was seriously ill, apparently went against doctor's orders to return for the final few episodes, and even wrote that lovely speech to tie up loose ends and remind viewers of the themes of Falcon Crest one last time. Larry Hagman presumably cared a lot about Dallas, but if he had any real influence over the end of Dallas, I sure couldn't see it.
  8. I know some felt that (aside from Angelica Nero and such) the stories in the dream season were better than the Bobby return season. Did you?
  9. Twitter is mostly down right now, so the tweets aren't likely to properly embed, but I read a few and they were heartbreaking - a number of the victims had only recently moved to the US. One woman was found dead still clutching her paycheck. It's a chilling coincidence that this happened so soon after Faux News has been focused constantly on the "great replacement theory."
  10. Sorry to jump back in. Here is the later explanation (I guess?) on the refugee cap. I really hope Biden's team gets together the people who are sending out such mixed messages or who aren't implementing policies properly. I could just blame the media, but this issue has been building for a few months now.
  11. Democrats handing Republicans big power in Oregon's gerrymandering, at a time when House Democrats need any seat they can get. Between that and the bungling of the refugee caps and the border, it's one of those days I'm reminded why so many have moved on.
  12. That's one of the most misleading promos I've ever seen! It's also just a bad promo - the last half is so sour. I also had to laugh at Jack Scalia being one of Dallas' biggest stars.
  13. Femstat 3 Commercial (1996) #1 - YouTube Femstat 3 Commercial (1996) #2 - YouTube (Hayley Barr) The 1980 and 1981 AW episodes that ran on the AOL portal are still around on Youtube - they may help you as a guide, I don't know.
  14. That even Pat Robertson is saying this makes the edgelord grifters like Candace Owens and Steven Crowder even more pathetic.
  15. Nate Silver always has to say things in the most hyperbolic ways, and back that up again and again from insecurity or need of attention, then he and his fans get very mad when he's called out. There was a great deal of pushback against people who pointed out his lack of expertise - oh, the experts aren't flawless, oh, they don't know how real people react while Nate does. There's no evidence that he knows how anyone outside of his bubble acts. There are so many rich, out of touch people (yes, often white men) on social media who cosplay as "just folks," and use that to evade any actual reckoning for their constant meddling and narcissism. The pouting is, as a few people have mentioned, Greenwald-esque.
  16. Just a sick man. He robbed even Holocaust survivors.
  17. I have my doubts, but given what's going on in Syria and the Ukraine, that might make it a little more likely.
  18. I think Larry and Liz did a lot of that scene themselves, so maybe that was an ad-lib between them which carried on.
  19. This goes beyond pathetic and moves into very disturbing - this birdbrain is so poisoned by toxic Beltway thinking and her fellow wastes of oxygen are cheering her on.
  20. Another reminder that Mitt Romney Is Not Your Friend.
  21. Probably Anne's last video interview. Starts at about 30 minutes. This is a great interview just from last week. https://www.vulture.com/2021/04/anne-beatts-snl-final-interview.html Anne Beatts was such a trailblazer and her SNL sketches - many of them so dark and jagged, and willing to push buttons - are still so well-constructed, 40-45 years later. Once we saw the photos of Charles leaving the hospital in tears, I didn't think Philip would be with us much longer. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, and I am heartbroken for the Queen, who adored him and who had the strongest support in him through many, many tests and tragedies. The monarchy has felt so much like it's at the end of an era these last few years, and today that seems truer than ever.
