  1. They would, but likely not enough to make the show care. He has been useless to GH for 15 years or more. He would likely just go do a podcast with a former Bernie Sanders devotee where they talk about how you should shove horse paste up your ass, or whatever.
  2. I can't disagree, but sadly the show has never cared about getting rid of the worst dead weight. If Burton loses his job because of a vaccine mandate, he will become a martyr and a god to the deeply conservative viewer base.
  3. If Burton leaves he will be back. Ingo probably is done for good if he goes. No big loss...
  4. A part of me thinks if he was, he wouldn't be grinding quite so much at his age, but I do think being fired from GH for this reason would be better for him financially than staying on the show. He's perfect for Fox News, leather face and all.
  5. He also likely makes a lot of $$$ in club dates and on podcasts listened to by people who will see him as a martyr for this. And, as you said, he knows he will be asked back sooner rather than later anyway. Once upon a time, a producer like Gloria Monty would have just said no way, GTFO, but that isn't what Frank or ABC are like anymore. In the long run, he will likely be rewarded for his selfishness, as he has been many times before.
  6. I have heard the paid leave act is not good (the bill itself, I mean), but at this point anything may be better than nothing. I'm more curious as to whether any of this will finally cause Manchin, Sinema, and their cowardly friends in the Senate to wake up.
  7. @Juliajms Thank you. Same to you. That CNN report sounds awful. This account will also give you many results from different state-by-state elections. https://twitter.com/Taniel/status/1455757339169067008 The dead end left has already zeroed in on India Walton's loss in the Buffalo mayoral race to the incumbent she had beaten in a primary (he went the write-in route), claiming Democrats cared more about beating her than Republicans. Failures and grifters like Nina Turner have also chimed in. They won't have much to say about it, but Walton made some serious errors:
  8. I will always associate JJ's Lucky with the scenes where he berated Laura over her rape...and the scene where he told Liz how pure their love was when he found her bleeding in the snow from a rape. He was the face of so much of Guza's sickness.
  9. He's a hatemonger who has been lauded to no end by the press as an "optimist" and as the ideal. Never forget, unless you are a rich white person (ideally a man, ideally a straight one on top of that), the media hates you and wants you dead. People fall for this every time. Hate and bigotry in different wrappings sell well, no matter what. It's hard to even get through each day knowing that. I admire anyone who can or does.
  10. The media adores Ryan Murphy, as he hates many of the same people they do, so of course they will cover for his failures... I saw this morning that Peters is good friends with Steve Bannon. Says it all. And this is what the NYT sees as the ideal.
  11. Oh that liberal media: And here is a NYT piece using a far right operative as a "Hillary-Biden" voter. I will never forgive the media in this country for what they have done to us and continue to do to us. They are beyond soulless. They are beyond scum.
  12. It looks like Mark Warner, one of the senators who hides behind Manchin, is already blaming a possible gubernatorial loss in VA on progressives not passing the bill, so I have a feeling we've got a lot more can-kicking in store. If Macauliffe does lose, there are many reasons (a rusty campaign, hysteria over "save the children from liberal brainwashing," the inaction and decay of the Democratic Congress, a media that worships his opponent - who fulfills the hatred of women and queer people that they crave and also their never-ending daddy issues), but I'm never going to forget the crass, stupid publicity stunt from the Lincoln Project people. These types of things only work when they are done to benefit Republicans, because there are zero standards for the GOP. They want us to die, and the media praises them for their bravery and clarity.
  13. I think Eileen has a lot of resentments surrounding the Kristen character, namely that it's the role which really made her huge and even won her an Emmy, unlike Ashley, which she seems to love playing and has much more of a history with. I sometimes wonder if her so naturally playing such a cold and often unsympathetic figure also bothers her. Either way, I don't even know if she would have returned as often as she did if she hadn't had such a long relationship with Sony. Eileen is Kristen and it's just about impossible to ever replace that, although if a deeply untalented, woman-hating, egocentric hack was not headwriter, that would help.
  14. It is the definition of busy work. And many efforts to be involved in "action" are little better, like idiots here in the US who are having a hunger strike outside Biden's office, when there's nothing he can do. SCOTUS is soon likely to rule in a way that will make it impossible for Congress to do anything against big business on environmental issues. When you're a kid and you hear the "plant a tree" song on TV over and over, you don't ever understand just how many people are fine with the planet dying as long as they get some money to wrap their coffins in.
  15. Did you ever wonder what happened to Aaron Coleman, the beloved of Ryan Grim and Glenn Greenwald? You can guess:
  16. @DeliaIrisFan The more I think about it the more I agree that asking whether the character should be de-aged (if they did) is offputting, and really tells you where the mindset of the soap press and industry was. Much as we may all take lumps off soap fans for some of their views, they were usually very upfront about wanting to see older characters - so much so that when soaps began chasing young faces, their ratings dropped en masse and never recovered. The refusal to respect older characters, who were loved by viewers of all ages, was one of the greatest nails in the coffin.
  17. September 9, 1994. I haven't seen the wording of the original question, but they may have just asked for other suggestions, rather than giving specific names as choices. If I have it I'll see what the question was.
  18. https://www.instagram.com/p/CViGXJqAXPU/ Sorry if that doesn't work. She said in another video that she sent food or catering when Todd, Marlo, lost family, so I guess she had expected the same.
  19. I saw that Nene was berating Cynthia for not being at Gregg's funeral and berating the ladies in general for sending a $200 bouquet together. I guess that bridge is well and truly burnt.
  20. Not on a show that has plenty of murderers. The character has a lot of ties and Blake Berris is a good actor - there's no reason they aren't keeping him around. It's just because Ron is not getting a boner for him the way he does for the cardboard cutout who plays Ben.
  21. That's sad about Susan and her daughter. I hadn't thought of Liza in such a long time, I thought you meant Liza Minelli. Minaj is just absolute scum. She is also a good fit for Andy Cohen, and for the general way that he, and Bravo, treat women.
