  1. This yacht business was the same time as the infamous story of an actor supposedly falling off the yacht due to being high on coke, right? I guess that would help explain the writing...
  2. Tony Dow had been on GH and Never Too Young (I think) so I guess it makes sense.

  7. It was an unpopular storyline - even with James Mitchell, I believe. The most interesting part for me was the Opal/Palmer split. I never really believed he would have stayed with her as long as he did, and the fallout (along with the reveal of her son Adrian) was good drama.
  8. I've never been a hardcore fan of B&B, even when I watched I was often likely to complain (especially about characters like Ridge or Taylor), but for me the show is just not the same after somewhere around the period that Brad Bell takes more control. That would probably be somewhere around 1994 or 1995. That's when the show starts to lose its glossy, pulpy identity and you start getting the glut of really bad, stupid, embarrassing stories like James and Taylor having sex at Big Bear mid-avalanche because he didn't want to die a virgin, Brooke having a breakdown on the Virgin Islands and clutching dolls after it was revealed that Bridget was Eric's daughter, moments like Thorne divorcing Macy by fax, the writing that was too biased on Stephanie's side and made her into a gorgon, the truly gross treatment of Jessica Forrester (especially her rape storyline), etc. There are still some decent moments here and there from that point on (and I even got back into the show more heavily around the late '90s), but that is the line, to me.
  9. (just adding on to the post above)
  10. I try not to get too hung up on "decency" stuff because I'm reminded of all the times we were told how kind and loving W was in spite of all the blood on his hands, but I do think this was a profoundly kind moment for Biden, especially as Dole endorsed Trump.

  13. This upsets me because to be honest I won't be surprised if some lunatics try to hurt the dog. I think we are reaching a point where soon no President (at least not a Democrat) will have a pet in the White House.

  15. It's telling that CPAC announced they are still going to have Cruz speak. Unless he loses a primary in 2024, he's teflon in Texas.
  16. He can now fly back, say he was getting his family to safety, and shake his jowls about the unfairness of what his wife and children went through, and so on. And he's already despised so it doesn't really matter - it's still Texas. If he wasn't so incredibly unlikeable he would be made a martyr for this by lunch. Even then some will still try.
  17. Can't help feeling a little emotional about this, for some reason. Her serious health decline in recent times is probably the biggest.
