  1. I just couldn't get past the message that someone dying of cancer should walk into a fire and suffer a slow, agonizing death. Admittedly I didn't really care about most of those characters...
  2. I don't watch RHOP regularly (these days I don't watch much of anything regularly) but the hot mic moment with Gizelle's father a few years ago was a reality classic. I'm sorry to hear he has passed, and he was clearly a very accomplished, brave man.
  3. Marquess' revamp made me never watch regularly again, especially Steph's shockingly grotesque death.
  4. We probably have talked about this before - there's so many details I forget in posts I've made or articles I've read. I do understand why fans would want to fill in gaps the people who were actually paid to care about the show didn't bother with, but it does bother me a little when I see parts of her history like, "she presumably went to New York to live with Trudy," who probably hadn't been mentioned on the show in 40 years. (I don't even know if she was mentioned when Papa died).
  5. @vetsoapfan You mentioned a lot of the Soapcentral bios being fanfic - is that also true for Meta and Bruce being divorced by 1984? I guess that's based on Bert going to help take care of Meta? I'd be surprised if those at GL in 1984 remembered Bruce.
  6. Thanks. Interesting that there's no mention of Valiant Lady, which we know she was on.
  7. I wish there were some radio episodes with Geyer available to listen to - that would be more confirmation, or close enough. The 5/13/54 episode on Youtube has Meta on the phone talking to Joey's fiancee, Lois, saying they will marry in June once Joe's service is up. Given how incomplete material is for those years, I wonder if the two of them ever showed up for visits.
  8. Thanks @slick jones Given that Geyer was on TV, I do wonder if Helen may have been as well, but I guess we'll never know.
  9. @dc11786 @slick jones Thanks for the added info. I never knew who that Trudy was. There were claims she was Helen Wagner, which never made a great deal of sense. Did Helen play Trudy in episodes we haven't seen, or did she never play her? I never will understand why the show just decided Trudy didn't exist.
  10. https://deadline.com/2023/07/viola-davis-waiver-g20-actors-strike-1235450850/ Viola's decision came out after Sarah Silverman put the Guild on blast for the many waivers going around, although obviously Viola's decision wasn't based on Sarah's comments - apparently the amount of waivers has been getting a lot of talk, and controversy (probably not helped by how many still distrust Fran Drescher). https://deadline.com/2023/07/sarah-silverman-interim-sag-aftra-agreements-movies-stars-strike-1235450719/
  11. It was bizarre to see some of the most desperate of the contrarian leftist grifters, like Michael "harmed by Maxine Waters" Tracey, trying to do spin for Spacey lately. He clearly has very powerful people. I think his career is over either way, aside from those in the industry who always turn a blind eye (there are many of them, but he was never that big of a draw in his own right).
  12. Is this Michael Corbett in the first ad?
  13. Rolling Stone had to delete a tweet mocking Snoop Dogg for canceling concerts due to strike solidarity. They know the studios have the advantage and money to wait this out and crush actors and writers, and it won't take a lot to get the public on their side.
  14. I agree, but then it seems like they have been able to stall out so many important nominations and with a good chance of picking up the Senate in 2024, they won't need him as much. There are so many interesting topics of late, especially the multi-faceted DeSantis implosion of the past week (ending in him being set up by Megyn Kelly), but thanks to Elon ruining Twitter, I feel like he's killed off so much of the discussion and links we could have had here.
  15. You aren't starting an argument - I think Groome probably just had no knowledge of those shows.
  16. I loved her on Soap. She was just extremely funny. The blackmail story with Bert and the wonderful Caroline McWilliams was one of the show's better stories.
  17. Thanks. I wonder if that would have included the lesbian undertones.
  18. I never knew that. I wonder who she would have played. She was so funny on Soap.
  19. I thought Rishi was a likeable character and he brought a lot of continuity to the show given that he'd been there for over a decade. He wasn't a favorite of mine, but if the show is getting rid of long term characters he wouldn't have been first on my list. With that said, there are some fans out there at places like Digital Spy that trashed Rishi for years and are now very upset he's gone, so I think it's a lesson for people to appreciate some of these characters while they have them.
  20. I keep forgetting Steve Burton is still on this show. How much of the budget is that taking up? The idea of Eve running into him might be fun but I'm not sure if anyone will care much without Charlotte Ross. At least KDP gets some work. The idea of showing various stories in a week would be better if all of those stories didn't suck.
  21. No problem. You provide so much for fans, it's the least you deserve. I wonder if they ever even mentioned Joey in Meta's last years on the show. (I mean as Ellen Deming)
  22. A very rare upload here. I kept trying to remember if I'd seen it before as there are a few episodes of this era I've seen that were never on Youtube or haven't been in years, but I'm 50-60% sure this is brand new. Any time I watch this era I'm fascinated by Kathy's story (year on year of perpetual anguish), so this episode was catnip for me. Susan Douglas wails the house down! I imagine some viewers found it tiresome but I can see why she was so loved. Patricia Wheel (I remember her from some radio soaps, including Radio Mirror covers), playing a nurse I'd never really heard much of, also gives a very tender performance toward the end. As a bonus you also get some Papa/Bill/Bert scenes. The date listed on the upload is 5/22/53. This is a lovely treat. I'm always so glad when anything from these wiped years reappears. I've never let GL or ATWT go, and in these moments it's like they've nevet let me go either. @Paul Raven @soapfan770 @Soapsuds @victoria foxton @Vee @SoapDope @antmunoz @slick jones @Mitch64 @vetsoapfan @Sapounopera@Franko @Fevuh @MichaelGL @Soaplovers @Liberty City @Spoon @GLATWT88 @kalbir @dc11786@FrenchFan
