  1. She did write a book. The real question is why the always sycophantic news media has to cover this. Anyone can "write" a book.
  2. I'd forgotten that she came back. Then again you could not pay me to watch ATWT by that time. I guess they recast.
  3. Thanks for recapping that. This was just about it for SC Mike. I can't remember if he left town with boring Pilar or not. This was when Margo and Tom had to keep saying "fugue state." No thanks. FMB was a big part of killing my affection for these two characters, and it never came back. ART's last episode was, I believe, at the Kasnoff house, talking on the phone. In the next episode Susan Batten was there, in the same outfit.
  4. Wow this is going to get ugly. Apparently his family are accusing Bravo of "killing" him? Radar is also claiming a lot of stuff that was going to come out about him, from some book.
  5. What did you think of the surrogacy story? What happened to the surrogate (Kayla?) and her son?
  6. saynotoursoap put the video together. In one of the 1976 SOD issues there is a photo of Lisa posing with a shovel. Did she ever dig anything on the show or was that just a press shot?
  7. Thanks. Those stories sound very sad. I guess the Dylan/Paul relationship was ruined? The girl was a bit chubby and had long blonde hair.
  8. These were BBC episodes - I forgot that the BBC aired on a delay. But the part of the Darcy/Izzy story I mentioned was with the other scenes. At this point Darcy had almost died and confessed to some burglary, and was blackmailing Izzy for money. There was a good episode where Izzy was about to flee town, said various emotional non-goodbye goodbyes, then stopped when Karl told her over the phone that Darcy had lost a lot of memories. She did a little dance in the hospital corridor after seeing Darcy and getting it confirmed. I wonder if they thought Bishops were boring. That's the death of so many soaps, getting rid of anyone who isn't OTT. I think I've asked this before but who is that horribly annoying man (?) in the credits with Susan, mugging and yanking at her scarf?
  9. Everything about middle-aged Amy is insulting to viewers. I also don't get the logic of having a story about a guardian making inappropriate advances on her when the show just did a story about her lying about David making inappropriate advances. Why shouldn't viewers just believe she's lying again? I think the show probably wants rid of Nikhil and is just biding its time until the actor goes. They probably see him as weak and only want "real" men like Cain, Carl, Aaron. So how were the scenes of David in the wedding dress?
  10. I forgot to say how effective the scene was of that boy (Dylan?) taking Paul out for a beer, after Paul had lost a foot, and Paul freaks out as people stare at him. It show just how simple a scene can have an impact. Stefan Booth was fantastic. Whatever happened to that boy, and the annoying sullen girl who hung around with him?
  11. I've been watching some random September and October 2005 episodes I had and had then forgotten about. A few thoughts... I don't understand why they killed Harold's son. He looks so much like a younger Harold, and they work great together. The scenes where Harold cheered him up at a dance club were a delight. I don't like the Timmons mother very much. Just a lot of yelling. I would like her if she yelled a little less. The story with Izzy/Darcy is full of great comedy and drama. I loved the episode where she went to Paul for a hitman, and he sent her a very confused restaurant supplier! Darcy is a fascinating character, not all good or all bad, and Izzy is great too. It's also a credit to the actors that play Izzy and Karl that I can actually believe them as a couple, instead of just a pathetic fantasy of a middle-aged man. The story with the bikini shop is...odd filler. I did love Patrick's (?) dialogue about how ever since he was a little boy he wanted to run a bikini shop. Someone was having a laugh. The story about Steph and her husband and the surrogate mother who changed her mind because of the stepson, Boyd, doesn't do anything for me. These types of stories are so obvious from the start.

  17. I don't understand why she is even on talk shows, why they care. She was an also ran of an also ran. Meanwhile, one of the more interesting defenses for going to a strip club - he had to use the bathroom. http://www.stltoday.com/article_1ade6260-c8fd-11e0-b53f-001a4bcf6878.html
  18. Thanks for all of these details. The dialogue is a little clunky but this type of conversation is so rare on soaps. Biff sounds like such a complex character. I wonder how the actor did in the role.
  19. Thanks for this detailed recap. So did Jason return from the dead and then die again? It sounds like the show made sure neither Nola nor Mona were ever too "bad," at least at this time. I also wonder if the story was done to "redeem" Nola, since she'd done some bad things, like not being there when her sister died, and using her sister's death to manipulate Mona.
  20. Wasn't there some kind of flirtation between Lisa and Jay?

  22. Thanks for finding that article. Who was the villain who tried to kill Lisa? I wonder if John had any story from this time to when the Dobsons arrived. I'm always fascinated by how they do the stunts in this era. I love that you upload the soaps which aren't as known today. There is so little of 70's ATWT online that I would love to see more, but I appreciate everything you share with us.
