Um...I do not remember this "special potions" stuff with Ramona and Victor at all. Or that she was friends with Phyllis' nanny (wasn't that Phyllis' nanny? Who was she taking care of by that point?). I never knew how hung up Jack was on Ramona either. Kind of pathetic (not as pathetic as Ashley being appalled at taking up with a married man though...). Not a good hairdo for Ashley.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles

- Whitney Houston dead at 48!
That is so beautiful - it's chilling. Thanks for letting us know about that. The program is impeccably done. So apparently there's some controversy about Aretha not being able to attend but still doing a concert? I wonder if Aretha feels comfortable when so many of those who were supposed to be her successors are instead dying before her.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J43tAenQoh8&feature=related I think the Marge story worked because you could tell Jeanne enjoyed playing the role. I guess it was also a break from Katharine's usual stories - her conflicts were from within, or with Jill. Not some random kidnappers. It changed things up. It's strange to me that they couldn't come up with any story for Rex in those last few years. There was so much potential.- Y&R: Old Articles

Yeah, at times I wish I knew their thoughts, and sometimes I am glad I don't. Sometimes with Y&R I think the less we know the better! Damn that girl who is going to give her baby to Carole and Skip is annoying. Skip looks so much like Chris Noth, and Steven Moffat. I'm surprised he didn't get more work in primetime - he has that "look" which was suited for the early 90's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVL0GBunw0A- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

That's a wonderful story. Christopher Cass seems like an odd recast to me. I think one of Digest reviews said he made Jack "grow up" or something like that but I wonder if that's what the part called for.- Y&R: Old Articles

I think MS was very striking at the time (and still is), but the scenes seemed more comedic/desperate than sexy. Nathan stopped being a character long before his death, so I guess Bell may have felt it wasn't much of a sacrifice. Still, it's glaring - I can't think of any other longtime characters Bell hurt that way. In honor of alphanguy's birthday, and just for other fans who want to see old stuff, I'm going to post some older material on the show's first decade. I don't have a lot but will put some of what I have. These are from some 1977 Afternoon TV Stars - April, August, December. After this I'm going to post some of the few Brenda Dickson things I have.- The Politics Thread
Why is the budget director for W being cited by the media as some econimic expert? No matter how much the media loves Mitch Daniels and insists he would be the ideal President, he didn't run, and his record suggests nothing but econimic failure. http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/02/mitch-daniels-this-is-the-worst-recovery-ever.php?ref=fpb- Y&R: Old Articles

I think they both likely share the same views - one is more vocal about it, one not. That's one of the reasons I am not as upset as I would have likely been even a year ago about the possibility of Santorum getting the nomination - I no longer believe Romney is any more moderate.- Another World Discussion Thread
It is bizarre, because I would have thought Rich was always leaving, since he was still young and probably wanted to try Hollywood. And hadn't Sandy already been used up as a character by then anyway? I guess you could say the same about Blaine, but to fire Malone over a demand over an actor who was probably leaving anyway is even more inane than I had expected. I guess they were probably happy to get rid of her. Most of the backstage decisions at this time make no sense to me.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
