  1. There were a few extraneous characters (like the Lombard inner circle, which could have been one character), but I thought most of them had a place. My only real complaint was that the news woman Tonio hired, who was clearly supposed to be witty, passionate, vibrant, was a dullard. But, as Mitch has said before, this was a recurring issue on ATWT at this time (remember that boring doctor, Taylor, who made a play for Tom a few years earlier?).
  2. A big part of Lily's story at this time was that she was cold and hard. Later they made her more like the old Lily. One of the parts of ATWT I missed most in later years was when we stopped seeing everyone find out about the key details. Someone clearly decided this was boring, but what the hell else are you going to do with 45 minutes of airtime 5 days a week?
  3. Paul Decker, casting director, told SOD that he wanted to cast Jamie Goodwin on Santa Barbara, but Goodwin had to finish up a college play. After this, Goodwin was cast as GL's Johnny Bauer. He also talked about casting Catlin on AW, and how they finally found an actor they thought was right. Then they started squabbling over who would pay for his plane fare. By the time they decided, he'd been cast on GH. It was Jack Wagner.

  5. I didn't know that. Is Ricky gone again? What do you think of Kim and Ray?
  6. Yes. I have a Fiona one from 2001 but figure you've already read it.
  7. Thanks. Was that for the end?
  8. Your dialogue for Lindsay sounds very much like her. The scene with Anjelica was filled with just the right tension and familiarity. Very very good scene with Hayley and Skye. I'm glad Skye was so kind towards her, and regretted her past with Adam. Hayley is driving drunk!

  13. There's a cute GL ad about :17 or so. Basically telling people to dump Santa Barbara. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26ewUGhUD0Q&feature=channel&list=UL

  20. This episode is a great example of how to pace an hour (which many people in soaps do not know how to do today, aside from endless flashbacks and recaps). Look at the way Bob and Kim's night together is repeatedly interrupted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlebrtkAfU0&feature=plcp
  21. Here come the 9/11 comparisons. http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-congress/2012/06/pence-likens-health-care-ruling-to-127628.html#.T-yk4sxlh6w.twitter
  22. Being fired up didn't do much for the left in those situations. I don't believe "the scream" made a difference. The media went crazy over it but Kerry already had the momentum by then anyway. Blowing money on very crappy ads and having people in orange hats, from out of state, run around Iowa, was what killed the campaign. LOL from Jack Kingston, another super patriot. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/06/really_15.php?ref=fpblg
  23. Far right hero tells states to just not bother implementing Obamacare. Can you imagine the fury if a Democrat had said this when Bush was in office? http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/demint-obamacare-still-unconstitutional-states-should-refuse-to?ref=fpblg
  24. Opal and Erica - very moving goodbye, with a lot of schmaltz, perfect for Erica. I am enjoying your writing for her. Can't wait to see that with Skye and Hayley. I hope Skye will be supportive.
