  1. Not too subtle from Romney here. He knowingly gets into a situation where he's sure to get booed by the NAACP. Cue all kinds of talk about how tough he is, he doesn't back down, and Rove and friends banking on the "heartland" seeing this as poor Romney victimized by those scary dark-skinned people. http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/07/11/514645/as-gop-plans-to-vote-on-obamacare-repeal-romney-booed-for-suggesting-he-would-do-the-same/?mobile=nc
  2. That's a great cliffhanger. I love the line about "Am I talking to Viki?" I can see Lindsay saying this. Poor Hayley. What a mess. She's sort of become Skye.
  3. These clips have a little more of the police chief's son some of you have talked about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJOiP0i0NSg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54g8YRNcE9A&feature=channel&list=UL I never knew anything about this homeless girl story.
  4. I'm not too sure about them calling every six months. By 1980 or so they started writing Delia in a way which Ilene would have had a much more difficult time playing (befriending Tiso, King Kong, Crystal Palace).
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-wShkdyD9o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ1RtAJaBKg&feature=channel&list=UL The rest is on their channel.
  6. Great cliffhanger. Nice to see Lindsay and Charlie spending time together, and seeing that crucial moment with Kirkland and Gregory which many would overlook.
  7. I watched some of the last few episodes, to see Masood's brother AJ. He's kind of hot (even in those ridiculous trousers). I think he would grate if he's on too much, but I enjoyed him with Masood, and trying to have fun with dour Syed. I think my favorite part was when he and Masood were on the floor, pinching each other, and Tamwar (who has also become very dour) said, "It's like Women in Love...only weirder."
  8. In spring 1980, Ted LePlat briefly replaced Steve Fletcher as OLTL's Brad Vernon when Fletcher was ill.
  9. Dec 1980 Daytime TV Roberta Leighton (Casey Reed, Y&R) got a bad virus, leading to a bad ear infection (her ear almost ruptured), imparing her speech and hearing. She was told she could return to work in a few days, but she was so bad off that she was feverish, she had to lip read and she struggled with her balance. Just in case, they brought in Kin Shriner's sister Indy. They didn't want anyone to think Roberta was being replaced permanently, so this was all kept low-key, and Shriner didn't even know what role she was reading for. Leighton was able to work through her illness and Shriner wasn't required to tape.
  10. Suzi was killed in a car accident a few months before the show ended.
  11. Sara also flirted a tiny bit with Alan and dated Justin. I would have enjoyed seeing Jackie/Elizabeth/Sara comparing notes.
  12. I wouldn't say I was disappointed, just that there was the addition of Althea's mother, and more paternity test changes, and I was trying to remember how common that was at the time Skye was born. I can see why you made Skye a Chandler again, biologically, and I realize that any explanation was going to be difficult, because her backstory is a mess.
  13. Maybe you should ask them if that can count for your next purchase, since you already have everything, or most of it.
  14. Thanks. July 15 isn't long at all. I guess I'll see if I have enough to buy by then.
  15. I think Skye's paternity has changed so many times that it's too convoluted to change it again, and the explanation sort of confused me, but I can see why you wanted to make her a Chandler. I did roll my eyes a little (at Adam, not you!) when Adam claimed he always stood by her - he didn't when she fled town in 1997. I agree with Bright Eyes that it's great to see Viki in business mode, and I look forward to more Lindsey/Viki, as they rarely had any strong interaction on the show (even though they were both married to Clint). Can't wait to see more with Hayley. I think Kelly Ripa should buy the rights to your story, as it's exactly what I would have wanted for Hayley.
  16. How long does this last?
  17. They were supposed to bring Hope back in 1986, but never did. Then they aged Alan-Michael so much. Ed was never suited to be a patriach and the Bauers weren't really a family by the mid-80's. Mike coming back could have changed that.
  18. There seems to be a lot of confusion over this. I always thought that Don Stewart was let go, but then more recently it was said he wanted to leave because of overwork and wanting to move on to other things.
  19. For some reason I'd never seen this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgm_uLoRZQU&feature=related
  20. Some OLTL ads in here, with some stuff not on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIOiCeiEil4
  21. I was reading an old magazine and I thought I saw something about Laurie Kennedy taking over as Laurie. Or something Kennedy. Did anyone by this name play Laurie? I think it said something about she was passed over for another role on the show, but then got Laurie.
  22. She and Zaslow really worked well together. I get the impression that no one knew what to do with Mike for years.
  23. I wondered what that was about. It was just kind of ironic considering the way the characters were dressed. The show seems a lot different than most of the other soaps I've seen from this time period. They would probably say, "We're a family drama." It's too bad more isn't written about the show's success and why it didn't last on TV. Was Eva Marie Saint there for the entire TV run?
  24. It's in the clip I posted, toward the end.
  25. TV Dawn to Dusk December 1970
