  1. I was reading a soap magazine from 1991 and they confirmed that GH was thinking of pairing Bill Eckert and cousin Bobbie, mentioning a scene where they'd gone to the movies and were surprised at what a good time they had. They also said the show was thinking about Bill/Lucy. I can't believe they were actually considering Bill/Bobbie. That's just...who looked at Tony and Jackie and said, "Wow they have so much sexual tension we could never use before!"
  2. I guess this isn't exactly a big surprise but I was reading some old David Canary interview, and he said that the show wanted to have Adam giving Dixie extremely dangerous, life-threatening drugs while he had her institutionalized. He said he told them that this was a fantastic way to make viewers hate Adam and drive him off the show. AMC changed their mind and dropped that part of the story.
  3. I haven't seen her Texas work. Brenda seems very fake to me here. Sam was scary! I'd never seen that side before. You'd think Tyler was a central character at this time, yet he was dumped only a few months later, wasn't he?
  4. I was never a big fan of most of the kids, or their older versions either. I did like this CJ, I thought he was a natural actor.
  5. What did you think of Karen Kelly? I thought Deborah Mulowney was a little rough here too but she had some charisma. After seeing more of her Capitol work I wish Hickland had played a heroine a little more often on soaps (of course Lindsey thought she was a heroine, even though she wasn't). She is very effective in these damsel in distress situations.
  6. Thanks again to saynotoursoap. The hostage portions of this are very good, especially the last part of it. Incredibly tense, and wonderful acting from everyone, especially Cat Hickland and the woman who played Sherry. I don't like this Brenda at all. A different type of hairdo for Marj Dusay. See if you can spot the ABC soap alum in one of the commercials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAM2QTnFceg
  7. The idea is that he can hide behind Hagel when the big defense cuts come. I don't think it will work though. Between Hagel and the "conscience clause" recently passed I wonder if DADT might be back in some form that the public won't know about (since the media won't care). I don't think he's an anti-Semite but the "Jewish lobby" comment startled me a little when I heard about it.
  8. 1996 episode which features the setup to the stalker murders, with focus on Blair Baker. I think Eddie Drueding said it best about Blair Baker - "Bugger this!" Little embarrassed for Matt Crane... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w65QLYfLEN8
  9. This is an episode that has more of the kidnapping story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKqB8ts6aJo
  10. Thanks. I guess Jim was the guy Nancy was asking Beth about.
  11. 1996 episode. Turn the volume up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0Le1aP_GHE
  12. Tad was around, I think this was during the time he and Dixie were getting married again, right before Del arrived, or around Del's arrival.
  13. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic. http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2013/01/palazzo-sandy-katrina-fema.php?ref=fpnewsfeed What gets me is that people who are extremely conservative are now called "moderate" because they don't want the country to go up in flames and they don't think disaster relief is some sort of entitlement program. I'm amazed at how brazen the far right is, even the media darlings, who once upon a time used to pretend to be less extreme. You have Ted Cruz, one of those who is pushed by the media to show us how much the GOP loves minorities, pushing NRA talking points. http://blog.chron.com/txpotomac/2013/01/weeks-after-newtown-ted-cruz-blasts-politicians-who-try-to-exploit-this-tragedy/
  14. Can you tell me who the man and woman were in that episode who were on a roof or something, the woman watering plants?
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF9kQdh2mFw Strike story alert! So did you enjoy this story? Larkin Malloy looks a lot hotter here than he usually did on AMC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VagVmKYs29Y
  16. I almost wonder if that may have been planned at one point, as the actor had played a mentally ill man on ATWT right before being hired.
  17. Jill/Dru scenes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iNf0M53SZU
  18. I agree. I can understand why the uploader who put up the other stuff chose not to include it but I'm always fascinated by strike material.
  19. I didn't want to post it in the thread because most of you have probably already seen it, but in the Videobash thread I put a 12/1/78 GH episode AddieCate uploaded. It has some good Tracey scenes, mostly trying to stir the pot with Monica/Rick/Lesley/Alan, and pushing Mitch in his career. What did you think of Mitch? (I thought he was somewhat miscast)
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4niuA0W8sAQ
  21. He also came out of that Karl Rove factory, I think. And he's socially conservative. He's a good huckster, as Huckabee was before he moved out of politics, but that scares me.
  22. She and her husband had kidnapped Nancy because she'd found out something, I think. There's a 1981 episode on Youtube that features this story.
  23. I keep forgetting that awful actor played Jamal at the end (Marcus Patrick). I guess they may have been going for the younger teens who might have been watching. It's an interesting idea, through the drug addiction story, to have Timmy assumed as being right and good, and Jamal assumed as being in the wrong. I didn't think the whole speech part worked too well though. That was Tom's house, right? Had that been the place he'd lived in with Barbara too?
  24. That poor kid who played Jamal has to deliver a lengthy anti-drug message Nancy Reagan would have been proud of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM2wk3RkMK8
