  1. I'm sorry to hear that. I think he was well known for being a beefcake model.
  2. I never knew that about Donna. What a sad story. I guess she doesn't talk about most of this. Who did he play on the show?
  3. This story airing at the same time as perpetually bitter Laura and as Liza being decimated by that damn ape Jake = agony and agony and agony. The babynapping story was actually a relief in comparison.
  4. The only good thing about that story was Kelly Ripa's performance in the wedding episode you see in that promo. I don't know if it was down to pregnancy hormones, or some other factor (she was an OK actress but rarely a good one), but she was wonderful, especially her scenes with Adam. I try, and fail, to block out the rest.
  5. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wish I was surprised about IMDB. As I said in the OLTL thread, they claim Peggy O'Shea was on Neighbours for 5 years. I wish I could see this show. It sounds very intelligent and mature, and as if it had a basic respect for the audience.
  6. When I read about stories from the early-mid 70s, nothing ever jumps out as wrong or boring. It's not until we get to 1981 or so that I begin cringing.
  7. I think a lot of Loving would be more popular today, since they seemed to generally have an appealing, talented cast of all age ranges, and some fun characters. The show's biggest problem seemed to be lack of identity. That's something which is now common on soaps. I do think Loving, visually, looked good, sometimes very good. Someone clearly cared. SOD gave them a nod for best sets in 1986. If you watch some of the 1987 episodes saynotoursoap put up, some of the sets are so detailed.
  8. I don't think she passed away. I always got the impression the show's main struggles started in the early 70s when they couldn't figure out how to move on as viewers tired of social issues. How annoying that her IMDB page is half-full of credits of an actress named Peggy O'Shea. I hate when IMDB gets that wrong and no one knows how to correct it. I doubt she was on Neighbours for 5 years

  10. Thanks for reading. I'm sorry the picture isn't a little better. I also appreciated her talking more about the plot details. I'm not sure if those were already known, but I hadn't heard about them. I never knew they had flashbacks to show why Laura wanted to be a nun. I wish I could see those.
  11. Bob Woodward frothing at the mouth about Obama again. It's entertaining to see the far right, who have hated Woodward for a long time, now seeing him as a hero. He's never been much of an Obama fan. The real slip here is when he all but says that he supported the last President Bush invading Iraq. If that's what he believes, that tells me all I need to know. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/bob-woodward-blasts-obama-madness-88160.html?hp=f1
  12. I agree with Quent. The only time I believed Maggie as a heroine was the Quentin haunting story. Maggie was written as surprisingly proactive and strong in that story. When Maggie began she was supposed to be more of the wisecracking supporting figure. They softened this a little but the drastic change didn't happen until after she was on the set to play Josette when they needed a ghost Josette. When Barnabas arrived, they kept that going, and her character was sacrificed.
  13. Thanks. I wish I could see his work.
  14. I agree about Andrea, although I think part of it is telling us rather than showing us some key aspects of her stories (telling us she was close to Michonne, telling us she was close to Dale, too much time spent on her flirting with the Governor instead of showing her reacting a little more to Woodbury). I think in the last few episodes they've gotten her material right, and I can understand why she's conflicted, because she was never close to any of the people left in the group. Even Carol, who went out of her way to be nice this time around, was never all that close to her before.

  19. He was on Search for 5-6 months or a year, yes. He left to do OLTL, I think. That photo made me laugh a little. It's just so her.
  20. This was their "hot shot" section they started having around 1985 or 1986 and continued doing for a long time, just some photos of various actors they thought of as striking. I like the photo, although Kate's face work is a little more apparent here than it was at the time on Dynasty. You're right about the white copy.
