  1. I mostly remember DTC for those very gay and very annoying interviews he used to do in the Eastenders Revealed shows, complete with story descriptions that made no sense (Syed and Christian were supposed to be "Romeo and Romeo" - unless they killed themselves at the end, I didn't see it). He also came up with the Tanya buries Max alive story, which was pure trash. The DTC era was all shock value all the time. I guess it worked for the ratings with Collinson and Corrie, but I don't care about that. I guess Mitchell fans will be happy.
  2. Yes, they did. I think he was in BITB after he left soaps (although I might be wrong).
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trHjHRqoh-M
  4. I never knew that about Caroline McWilliams. She wasn't right for Ellen, but AMC would have been smart to find some role for her. I didn't know Jessica was that close to Melissa.
  5. Tons of regressive voting laws passed in NC. Hard to believe in recent years NC had been known as an increasingly progressive state. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/north-carolina-bill-requiring-voter-id-cutting-early-voting-passes-legislature.php?ref=fpblg
  6. Given her history with the show, that she sued them shocks me.
  7. Comic-con stuff. Spoilers... http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/07/19/the-walking-dead-comic-con-panel-premire-date-trailer/ I love that someone asked about Rick/Michonne. They are one of approximately two OTPs I have on TV at the moment and the other one is never happening.
  8. She looks great. You should put this in the WATN section too.
  9. I was trying to guess what was happening next but that would go into comic spoilers. I really liked the scene with Michonne on horseback. I hope we'll get some material with Michonne/Rick too.
  10. I was trying to figure out if they were saying he was the saboteur. So are they leaving the prison fairly early next season? I was sort of hoping they'd stay there a little longer. I wonder if most of the people will be killed or if they're still going to have more of a group. I like Glenn's hair.
  11. Wow, that was a good promo. And I'm so glad they replaced Dale with Herschel in the speechmaker role because Scott Wilson makes that work. I'm glad to see more Carol, and hopefully she won't die. It looked to me like Sasha will die (her scene with Tyreese early on had that type of atmosphere, and then later on Tyreese looks devastated and seems suicidal). I guess I should be happy she made it out of season three alive. Was that new guy calling Tyreese "Dad" or "Ty"?
  12. It's just so bad. "She has become my enemy, and that's not right." Would he really be talking that way? He also looks like he plucks and moisturizes non-stop. So plastic and silly. He doesn't really fit the role he's trying to play. He seems kind of gay, to be honest. The best part is the woman in the red top trying not to smile.
  13. Interesting they said Joan Copeland was the star. I thought Jennifer Harmon was. I liked the little tidbit about the circulation numbers for Daytime TV, most of those being in retirement areas.
  14. That's a whole lot of bad acting. At least Teresa seems relatively natural with it. Joe Gorga seems to have wandered off the set of Hardcore Pawn.
  15. Love Amelia Marshall in this promo.
  16. I don't think he's much of a celebrity either - other than his OLTL role he's never been in major roles, beyond guest shots.
  17. DePriest had also brought the ratings up at AW during her 86-88 stint, I believe, although I'm not sure. She'd also heavily restructured the show. There was a feeling that the show [AMC] had been drifting since 1984 or 1985. I get the idea that 1987 or so broke some of this away and they thought they'd turned the corner, but then 1988 crashed down.
  18. Thanks again.
  19. Paul Bhattacharjee has been found dead. He appeared several times on Eastenders as Masood's brother, who had sexually harassed Zainab. She kept quiet, due to his money and power. When Masood learned the truth, he disowned his brother, in spite of the money the family needed for their debts. http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2013/jul/18/paul-bhattacharjee
  20. There was a thought that the show had become bloated and aimless in 1988, and needed fresh blood. Lainie and David, among other characters, were an attempt to go back to the show's days of beautiful, angst-ridden young people. Many older actors were fired or chose to leave through lack of story. Eric sold his Enchantment stock to Natalie, betraying Erica and costing her her company.
  21. Gabrielle and Michael promo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkVWfU3OHIY
  22. October 1988 promo. I had no idea the story with Erica and Nic Coster had gone so far. I also forgot boring John O'Hurley was on the show. This seems like an odd period for Erica, given that she had just had a baby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pAu-RkXIZM
  23. Thanks. I will definitely be watching these soon. This seemed to be a very odd period for AMC, as they were trying to refocus.
  24. I think Quinn may be counting on getting most of the support in a runoff. I don't see Rand Paul carrying all that much weight in Montana (he's a fake libertarian - they're not), but she is clearly not popular with most of the party apparatus. And Enzi doesn't seem to have done anything that has made him a primary target. It comes across as she just wants to be a senator, so she's going to be one, whee.
  25. Liz Cheney, mostly known for saying dumb things on cable "news", is running for the Senate in Wyoming. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/liz-cheney-to-challenge-gop-sen-mike-enzi-in-2014.php?ref=fpb
