  1. I think this is Teri Austin, isn't it?
  2. I haven't watched this yet but I appreciate all your insights.

  4. A year or two before. Erica's look is so severe here. Wow. I enjoy Hayley giving commentary. I forgot to say happy birthday to Teresa Blake. I loved her as Gloria. I miss characters like that on soaps, who help form a community and aren't all good or all bad. I wish she was still in the business.
  5. Is the older woman they show on her own at one point supposed to be Ceara's mother? Holy crap, Kate and Louis (from Loving) are there! I knew Jeremy and Cerea had been to Corinth but didn't know any Loving characters had crossed over for this.
  6. So Olivia still wasn't around at this point?
  7. I didn't know that. How random. I wonder why that was. I thought she was on GH at this time.
  8. From a November 1992 Digest
  9. I guess Good Times Bad Times was the one with the least cast turnover. I read that Axel will be back on AWZ for a brief run.
  10. I don't blame Victoria for being upset, but she handled it poorly. That's what made her such an interesting character though. She was a true mix of her parents. As time passed, Tom was able to play Victoria as a woman - yes, Victoria was bratty for many years, but she did mature. Now Victoria and her family relationships often seem very childish. It's a shame to think of just how much the show took Tom for granted. There's a huge vacuum in women in that age group on Y&R today.
  11. Tough to get past that weird Anna recast. She looks more like Celia.
  12. A little of that story about Gina giving birth in a vet's office. Did people enjoy that story? Other episodes.

  14. This is such a nice little moment, taking a break from stories for happiness, but still with hints of the stories in reaction shots. Trevor closing the show tells you how popular he was at the time. Joe's shirt blinds me. Myra was gone at this point, wasn't she?

  17. Yeah the promos were better than some of the content at this point. Back when ABC still cared.

  20. Finally finished it. I let out a little cheer when Sharon told Victoria all the Newmans (sans Nick of course) could go to hell. And she had such fear in her eyes after she said it. Great performance from Sharon Case. Sometimes Victoria's hair and makeup looks great in this episode and sometimes it looks garish. Maybe it's the lighting. One of the things Y&R was good at for many years was making you care about both of the women in a rivalry. Jill and Katherine, Sharon and Nikki, Dru and Olivia, Sharon and Victoria, Nina and Jill, Nina and Victoria, Lauren and Sheila. It wasn't just one is a goddess and the other is disposable. At the time I felt it was somewhat OOC of Mamie to take the money from Jill, and I still feel that way. I have to wonder if when they abruptly fired VRF, they realized how awful it would look if the longtime beloved maid of the family was just dumped offcamera, so they had her get a million from Jill so she wouldn't go away completely defeated. The comedic music in those scenes doesn't feel right to me, given what she'd gone through. I did laugh when Esther said she could buy a mansion and Katherine shut that down very quickly. And Esther looking through the money. They should have had her go do business with Victor, which would have caused tension with the Abbotts and Jill, instead of just shipping her off. VRF could have played a bitchier side of Mamie. John annoys the hell out of me, as always.
  21. What was her name...Jeri? I mostly enjoyed this story because of Sharon. There was a simple purity about Sharon at this time. I miss that. During the story about the photos of Jill and Jack, I think there was a grocery bag of money for Katherine that was stolen, or something. Too bad they didn't bring that up.
  22. Watching some of this. The dialogue in the Victoria/Nick scene is poor, but Heather Tom sells it. I really enjoyed the scene with Lauren telling her designers to take a risk (foreshadowing her moving to B&B ). It's nice to see that executive side of Lauren, and I thought the black woman (don't know her name) had a good screen presence. I wish they'd used her more. I remember SOD or SPW rolling their eyes at Mamie walking around Genoa City with a million dollars in a paper bag. Is it me or is Katherine almost needling her when she arrives?
  23. Yes. She seemed to do most of what various hacks got credit for.
