  1. Rinehart was in the role until about 1999. Most of her stories involved being a lawyer, and she briefly dated Ben as a plot point for Ben/Camille. The only story she really had that gave her a chance to act was a few episodes in 1996 when racist Nazi lawyers and criminals were threatening the life of her daughter if she didn't comply with their plans.

  3. Is that when he put Lilimae in a headlock? If people had done that more often I would have enjoyed her character more than I did. (with that said, season 8 was one of the only seasons that put her to good use)
  4. If you ever see her again you should ask if she might want to get into contact with something like We Love Soaps, for an interview.
  5. The August 25 episode was already on Youtube (as is August 26), but I think this is new. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjk9I9OJjXg&list=UU1SN29flGTjicPnAzxJM28A
  6. coffeegulper05 has been uploading some 81-82 GL episodes. Several of those with Carrie in them were already on Youtube in various uploads over the years, but I don't think these were. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvslForDBSs&list=UU1SN29flGTjicPnAzxJM28A&index=5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWW_03ZYDnE&list=UU1SN29flGTjicPnAzxJM28A&index=4
  7. I love seeing that feisty, aggressive side of Paulina again. I don't think Grant is a match for Christy.
  8. Michele seems like she's going to do her best to put the hurt on her family, especially Michele. It will be interesting to see where Lindsay falls into this. As mentioned above, I love Donna bringing up Marley's breakdown. Love seeing Felicia bulldoze into the middle of the confrontation at the wedding too. So Felicia.

  10. I didn't realize she wanted to leave. I wonder why. She just went onto another soap not all that long after.
  11. Fired. I adored her. She's one of the reasons I got into Y&R.
  12. Roark Critchlow reunited with his old DAYS co-star Jensen Ackles on SPN tonight. He played a very sleazy role, but he did a good job at making the guy seem believable at preying on vulnerable people. https://twitter.com/roarkcritchlow
  13. This thread has become enough like Aaron Sorkin's latest "what about the mens" treatise that I'm going to bow out.
  14. I often wonder how much longer they can keep most of that branch of the Dingle clan on, especially since the days of the family being run by Zak with an iron fist seem long gone. The Dingles have survived mostly because they managed to push themselves (some would say infest) throughout the village. Charity, Cain, Aaron, Chas, etc. I'd say maybe Belle and Zak and Marlon could go, but then Marlon will be with us after the apocalypse, so no reason to pretend otherwise. I was surprised to see that Bernice is still around. I always had a soft spot for her. I guess I should check some of her stuff over the past year to see if any of it was worth watching.
  15. Yeah I read that Victoria has a little something coming up, but it isn't all that interesting. What do you think of Belle's stories? They sound so dark, and I wonder if the actress can play them.
  16. I've mostly been watching some of these 1979 ATWT clips with my mother, among various other soaps, so we've still got a number of them to go. As a result of that I just saw this one, which is fitting, since it's set before Christmas and has a nice holiday vibe. This was when they were marking time until the new stories began, but still, I appreciate all the time spent here allowing us to see Lisa coping, moving on, with the full support of those who love her and understand her and all her eccentricities. The scene with Sheila/Carol/Melinda giving her the cake is so rare - women supporting other women this way, unless it's for a bridal shower, is almost impossible to find on a soap. Even at this time. Jay is such an exhausting character, but I do like Carol. She is such a classic soap heroine, especially those understanding, noble faces she makes when she hugs Jay. Judith McConnell is giving such a strong performance for a totally supporting role. It's too bad they didn't keep her around. I guess career-wise it worked out for the best. I do wonder if at this time they already knew they were writing her out or not. I love Nancy's thinly veiled disdain toward Sheila. Sheila is such a stealth bitch (repeatedly bringing up how lonely and isolated Jay was - who does that?). I wonder if they were trying to imply she'd shoplifted her dress.
  17. For me the spinning globe was almost a slap in the face. Goutman went out of his way to not honor the show's past or history in the final year, instead continuing on with new, mostly poor storylines. Then he got a dollar store globe and had Bob put it on a desk. I didn't love GL ending with Josh and Reva either, but at least they did go out of their way to bring back a ton of people and let us see them one last time. ATWT didn't even bother.
  18. November 1971 TV by Day. One of those rare Joanne Dorian sightings. I wonder if this is the last time she was in a soap magazine (by this time Erika Slezak was in the role). I never knew she was involved with Terry Kiser. That part about being happy to be away from NYC's "grime" makes me laugh. Rarely do I see something quite so blatant.
  19. Thanks. I couldn't remember who replaced Diane Sawyer. He reminds me of Nigel Havers.
  20. The only hard thing on CNN is likely Anderson Cooper's abdominal muscles. I do think Scott Pelley is a good newsman. Brian Williams is mostly just good at getting his daughter work and looking bored, oh, and rapping, because lol white people rapping is so edgy and hilarious. I never can remember who is at ABC, to be honest.
  21. There are no hard news shows anymore. I think people will eventually move on, but I don't think a lot of people will ever feel comfortable with him again.
  22. That's awesome that you got in contact with Carolee Campbell. I think she's really won some new fans (I'd seen a little of her work but had no idea just how good she would be - she's so fresh and so unique and so real and is a great gateway for viewers who may not be entirely wrapped up in some of the therapy sessions and melodrama and scheming German doctors and baby woes [much of this is good but it can be a little heavy). I hope We Love Soaps might be able to interview her.
  23. I never saw it in the photos, but to me, facewise, she looked like Sylvia, 25 years earlier.
