  1. Not a Blackburn fan, but I do respect him for owning up to a huge continuity error they made about Kevin's dead son (I had a feeling the show had long forgotten about him and apparently I was right...). Usually these things happen and no one at the top says a word to fans. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a652725/coronation-street-boss-admits-kevin-webster-script-blunder-we-made-a-mistake.html
  2. Oh that "liberal" New York Times. One of their reporters clucks her tongue over Democrats tanking the trade bill. "Uber-liberals" indeed. And those noble, precious Republicans who wanted to take Congress back to the old days. I'm glad that paper is tanking. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/13/us/politics/democrats-revolt-on-trade-bill-obama.html?_r=0
  3. I'm glad he told us, as I didn't think he was going but others did, so I was starting to get my hopes up. I just wish they would see how lousy this story is - evil Jai isn't fun or entertaining. The only way I will tolerate it is if Leyla survives. I still wonder if Lawrence will kick it. He's certainly all but irrelevant to the canvas. I guess he may be there to get revenge on Robert, but I'd rather he die if that's his only purpose. Speaking of that icky family, the preview clip is up. It's ludicrous and random but not as bad as I thought it might be.

  5. Some fans think she had sex with that crooked cop who was out to get her, and this is part of a scheme against him. Probably not likely though.
  6. Danny Miller, for his charity, did the latest version of the evergreen where various people walk down a corridor miming to "Is This The Way To Amarillo?" Quite a few cast members involved.
  7. I keep meaning to contact them again about airing it here, as I take for granted that they will keep airing it. By the 1982 episodes I've seen, Liz is much more Lucinda. You can see traces here, but she's much more down-to-earth. I posted some Brenda articles in the Y&R old articles thread - I always mean to put more. She did some great work (even in her last year). It was a treat to get to see the John/Jill divorce clips on Youtube...she impressed me there. At times the show is a little repetitive, and Penny gets on my last nerve, and sometimes I miss some of the sharpness of the earlier episodes (when the characters had somewhat more hostile interactions), but overall it's a terrific show, one that also manages to keep bringing in interesting new characters to keep the story going.
  8. Welcome. Love your gorgeous Brenda avatar. Totally agree with you. I sometimes worry I'm taking the show for granted at this point, because little things annoy me, but it really is so good, and so consistent, the way soaps used to be. Also agree about Liz. I see no Lucinda in her performances. It's a revelation.
  9. There are some posted here and there in the thread - there was a Kayla recast when MBE was having pregnancy difficulties (apparently some fans called her "Artificial Sweetness"), and Anne Howard filled in for Patsy Pease during some of her problems. And they nearly temp recasted Chloe in 2010 with Alicia Leigh Willis - she even filmed scenes that weren't aired.
  10. I will be happy to be wrong but I think it's going to mostly be hype. I just hope the human drama is there, which is what the show does best, and is lacking in places lately. The human drama is what made the plane crash episodes stand out. One of the odd things is other than Rachel, it seems pretty obvious no one we know is leaving the show will die in this stunt. So if it ends up being the likes of Tracy (nothing against her) dying in the stunt, or Pete, and the big characters are unscathed, it may seem like an anticlimax. I hope they surprise us and kill off one big character (one who is dead weight now...). And surprise me and spare Leyla... He tweeted Charley Webb, Mike Parr, and Danny Miller (I think), so I guess we know they'll be involved. I uploaded a few more episodes last night and had to remove a song from one of them because the song caused it to be blocked in the US and Germany, among a few other non-UK countries. Do you know what the song was? That Hillbilly Rock song by the Woolpackers. Such a big hit in the US, right??
  11. Sorry to hear this.
  12. Thanks. Really enjoyed reading that. Not sure if that ever became true though, about radio casting on looks. I guess it did to a degree.
  13. I saw this cute video of Lea Solonga and her daughter on the Philippines' version of The Voice.
  14. Not available in the US Well thanks for sharing, anyway. I appreciate it.
  15. Thanks. Nice to see more vintage articles.
  16. I thought that was odd too, especially given what happened with Belle and the Whites, and the fact that Debbie hates Robert. I wonder if the writer just had no idea of that storyline.
  17. Well i thought it was Declan, but all the mystery in the script makes me wonder. Debbie's siblings - Noah (Charity's son) and Kyle (Cain's son).
  18. Andy was about 20. Yes. Yes. I'm just glad the show doesn't seem to be doing Kirin/Priya. That girl he was with reminded me of Sophie from Corrie. I have to admit I've been finding Kirin more hot lately. I keep hearing theories that Ross is the father of Charity's baby, and I'm starting to wonder. I hope not. That's just too damn stupid and convenient for me. And talk about a joke if they want to go with Debbie and Ross. He made your mama a baby mama
