  1. Roc brings back lovely 90s memories! I think I mainly remember watching the reruns on BET with my dad. For a hot minute, TV Land was high on airing reruns of it, which I thought was very random.
  2. I REEEEEEEEALLY need for them to do regular Unsung episodes on Betty Wright and Maze feat. Frankie Beverly. These two acts were a major part of the soundtrack of my childhood (in the 90s and 2000s, no less), and they never get the respect they deserve.
  3. Thanks for the promo, Carl! It reminds me of how the infamous Rev. Donald Wildmon went on a crusade against the show around this time because of its sexual content. I wonder whatever happened to him. A DVD release is still nowhere on the horizon, and that pisses me off greatly. It's 37 episodes plus a pilot movie! Mark Harmon stars in the most-watched drama of the last 5 years, and Morgan Fairchild is still a familiar face! Release this show NOW, Warners!
  4. I've been watching WH!! via Encore On Demand, and I always forget how much I enjoy it. Say what you want about Mabel's reasons for leaving, but I think it's a solid program that did "us" a lot of good. Let's talk about the fabulous Fritzi Burr as the boys' teacher, though. Dwayne was adorable and I probably would have kept a Sister2Sister poster or two of him under my mattress. I need to see their episode of Unsung, because it truly is one of those unsung shows that doesn't get talked about a lot. 227, Amen, and Living Single would also be good candidates.
  5. Yeah, Marcus was one of JR's friends. I was LOLing at my thinking they were trying to put Bianca and Gabriel together because clearly I had not realized that Bianca was a lesbian, but eh, I figure that's exactly what TPTB were banking on. "That big western woman" tho lol I made poor Opal sound like Ma Barker.
  6. I just found a post I made about AMC about a month or so after I started watching it when I was 11.
  7. Thanks, Ben. I actually watched it off and on ten years ago whenever Oxygen (a cable net in the US) aired about a hundred episodes from 1999 over the summer. The ratings weren't what they were looking for (considering it was on against AMC and Y&R, they should not have been surprised), so they canned it. I've watched episodes here and there since then, including some old eps online, like Scott and Charlene's wedding, but this is my first time really watching regularly. I've done a lot of reading about the show, though. So far, I'm enjoying it. I think I get most of what's generally going on. Kyle and Kate are on the verge of getting together, but Kyle is still hung up on Georgia, and now that he knows she's pregnant, he's even more focused on her. Imogen and Mason used to be together, but they broke up for reasons I'm not aware of yet, and she moved on to this guy Isaac, who has turned out to be sort of a loser. Paul fired Terese from Lassiters and realized what a mistake he made, so he attempted to hire her back, but she held out until she could go back on her own terms. I don't understand what's going on with Toadie and his wife except that she cheated on him or some guy wanted her to cheat on him or something. I don't completely understand Kyle and Georgia's history, either. And I just have to say, the current arrangement of the theme song is the best in years. All of those frilly girly versions from the 00's were so cringe-worthy.
  8. Thanks for that promo, btw, Carl! I watched the first season of DJH years ago, and I'm sure SFK is still waiting for me to continue with the series. I will one of these days lol Yeah, the guy who played Cam was a very good actor. I watched a couple episodes leading up to his suicide, and I was really, really impressed with him. Hopefully, we see more of him.
  9. I watched a little bit of "Spiderwebs" last night, and I wasn't feeling it. It really did feel like it was just scene after scene of relationship drama. There were other things there, but it was boring. The show looks great, but... I'm really aching to rewatch the first 6-7 seasons, including the early ones, because this show was just that damn good.
  10. I knew they went through the younger characters quickly, but I guess I always figured that was a more recent trend. I didn't realize that was pretty much the norm from the early years (at least since they moved over to Ten). It kinda makes sense because who's gonna grow up into adulthood and continue to live on the exact same street? I don't even know most of the people in that picture, but I do see Lynne Scully.
  11. I've been watching this show this week, and I generally like it so far. Hoping to get into it and follow it for a few months or so because I've missed having a non-US soap in my life. Looking at characters and what-not, I never realized how rare it is for anyone to stay on this show for more than 3 or 4 years.
  12. OMG an old crew vs. young crew episode of Got 2b Real would be EVERYTHAAAANG.
  13. Patti, Aretha, Dionne, and Gladys aren't in the same class as today's performers because their work all serves a completely different purpose in almost every conceivable way. It's like comparing Bob Eubanks to Amanda Bynes. They both hosted TV shows, right?
  14. OMG that extra looks like she was handpicked from the audience of Queen for a Day circa 1961.
  15. I really just want Christina to do a version without Gaga lol Gaga is just such an asexual being, and I know that Do What U Want isn't really a sexual song at its core, but there's an ambiguity to it that Gaga just can't sell.
  16. I haven't watched a minute of DTNG since the eps surrounding Cam's suicide, and I didn't watch any for a long time before those. This show premiered when I was in the 6th grade, and now I'm about to get my masters. Why is this still on the air?? I might give it another go when it returns next week. Skimming through episode summaries from this season...Adam DIED? Damn. I figured they wouldn't do another death storyline so soon after Campbell. They're still doing 40 episodes a season? Damn.
  17. I had no idea they were getting rid of Dennis. What possible reason could they give for writing out one of the few links to the show's early years? Do they not see the value in having a tie like that around?
  18. I don't bitch in soap threads because I don't have time to watch shows I don't enjoy watching. What I'm saying is that you constantly get yourself worked up over this, and it's a colossal waste of your own time. If you want to continue, that's fine, it's just annoying sometimes because you just don't seem to get it.
  19. Why do you constantly bring this up? No one cares.
  20. Pretty much. Many were waiting for the stans to cry when the album flopped, but I was just waiting for the haters to jizz themselves.
  21. I just don't understand the "SHE'S DONE!!"/"IT'S OVER!!" nonsense. Bitch has been out there for 15 years. If she's done, she has nothing to be ashamed of.
  22. See, the way daytime is set up...
  23. The Bey haters are out in full force, scrambling to find any reason to declare this sad/pathetic/flop/whatever. LOL.
  24. So glad the aborted Tara/Chuck wedding still exists so that we can see this major event in early AMC history. Carl, Sydney is the character seen with Anne at the Boutique here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rejHXWbLiZc Soapluvva's comment matches up with what the article says.
  25. Got damn. What an incredible way to celebrate your 10th anniversary as a solo artist.
