  1. Roseanne and John Goodman both strike me as looking better than they have since the show went off the air. Rosey, especially, but they all look happy and ready to do this. So exciting!
  2. I tried Riverdale when it debuted and didn't stick with it, but I don't think I can really blame that on the show itself. I had too much going on at the time to keep up watching. Plus, it's considered one of their hits now, so I guess I don't have to worry about it not lasting. It would be nice to watch a pair of CW dramas regularly again.
  3. I just watched it, and I enjoyed it. If you were coming into this expecting anything other than about 85% CW and 15% original Dynasty, then you were destined for disappointment from the very start. I truly hate the fact that "reboot" has become a catch-all term for any and every time an older series comes back. This is a reimagining - a remake with huge and deliberate differences in tone, mood, etc. They absolutely should have called it something else and gave the characters new names to avoid any comparisons to the original series, but it is what it is. The pace was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be, and I knew my girl Liz Gillies would deliver in the (lead?!) role of Fallon. In true CW fashion, she's the star of the show, and that's just one of those adjustments that, if you were expecting anything otherwise, then this probably just isn't for you. The one and only "Why is it not like the original?" nitpick is the location. I'm pissed that we're missing out on what could have been some gorgeous Denver cinematography, and yes, "Denver Carrington" just has that ring to it...
  4. I wasn't expecting to get into this like I have, but it's a bop!
  5. I didn't realize how male this show is until I saw that promo shot up there. Part of that is down to them changing Sammy Jo into a man, but I'm gonna need them to add more ladies because Cristal vs. Fallon wasn't enough in 1981, and it won't be enough now.
  6. I think that they, rightly, believe a revival would fit closer to the original vision of the show. The wacky Urkel character and all of his adventures would definitely not fly in today's TV landscape, but Urkel as the dorky-hot son-in-law who still gets into it with perpetually pissy Carl would be perfect. I loved Mother Winslow and Myra, but I don't think the show bombs without them at all. The cast looks GREAT, but that goes without saying. JoMarie Payton being the queen diva of the Winslow family like she always has been and always will be, Telma Hopkins remains one of the most gorgeous (and underrated) beauties in the history of TV and music, etc. They all look like they had a blast getting together.
  7. RIP, Liz Dawn. Vera had the most interesting voice of all Corrie characters, IMO.
  8. Yet Maree looks better than him!
  9. I follow him on Instagram, and like I stated a few weeks ago in a status update - I can NOT believe he is just a few years from 40.
  10. Much love to Eileen Fulton, and I trust she is doing well! She used to have a regularly updated website with a blog, but that folded not long before ATWT left the air.
  11. I think the work they did with Erica and Mark really stemmed from the fact that Erica needed someone other than Mona in her life to bounce her quirks off of and also a male figure who wasn't a potential love interest, a "guy" for her to be close to without the inevitable paring up. It's usually a pet peeve of mine when they write a long-lost sibling in as if they'd always been around, but it just made sense and worked with Mark. The best thing they could have done for Mark that they didn't do was make Josh his son.
  12. I've been pretty steadily making my way through HamiltonBernique's uploads, all of which are new to me, so my AMC urges are satisfied regularly. I've gone through some pretty big life changes recently, so being able to get back into AMC and discover some of its best years has been an invaluable coping tool. I love, love, love our show, man. I'll be 80 years old, and they'll still be on my mind. I think I established a few years ago that I truly believe Mark to be AMC's most attractive male star, period. He and SuLu were just SO gorgeous together, and yes, they matched each other so well as siblings. I would give my left leg to fully watch their heyday as PV's hot youngsters in the late 70s. Those pics from the disco say it all.
  13. Susan has posted on her Instagram account that Mark La Mura (Mark Dalton) has died. I'm not seeing it anywhere else, but her post is pretty recent (45 minutes ago), so I would assume we'll see more tomorrow. I'm very saddened by this - Mark, to me, embodied a lot of what made AMC such a fun, lively, and successful soap in the late 70s and early 80s, and of course, there were the more dramatic storylines written for the character later on. I'm very thankful Megan McTavish brought the character and actor back several times in her last stint.
  14. I'm rewatching the series from the beginning, and I'm more than halfway through season two, and I really, really, really feel bad for dismissing this season so much over the last 10 or so years. It's such a nice transition between the naivete of season one and the magnificent, pot-boiling melodrama of three, four, and five. There are several key episodes including "Careless Whisper," "Take My Breath Away," and the two-parters "Shout," "When Doves Cry," and "White Wedding." It's like the characters were still young, but the stories grew up a bit, and it's just very enjoyable. I completely forgot that they'd done an episode of Marco questioning his sexuality prior to the "Pride" 2-parter in season 3, and it was pretty well-done. That heartbreaking ending to "Take My Breath Away" with Craig telling Manny that he doesn't like her is one of those classic moments, and so, so delicious when you know how much drama they're going to have with each other later on. Toby had so much to do this season, and it's a shame they gave up on the character later. He could have brought in some good stories that were different from the rest of the show's pace.
  15. Thank you for being the light in this "Dark." ass tunnel! I was finished at "I don't like you."
  16. I never thought I'd enjoy the stuff with Erica on her own - not because it's Erica on her own but because I never really understood why they would isolate her the way they did, but after actually watching so much of it, it made so much sense and had a lot to do with her becoming the legendary character she became. She was sooooo much more than podunk ol' PV ever could handle. She was the big glamorous stahhh, and it made her coming home that much juicier because of the development she went through while away. She would've never become that character had she always stayed in town.
  17. And I get extremely pissed when I remember how she won over Debbi Morgan that one year. Ol' joke ass awards.
  18. Did any of y'all see this? Amazing! Also, it looks like the first four seasons of TNG have been officially uploaded to YouTube. I'm about to rewatch the FCK out of these!
  19. I read an article about how she tweeted several pictures of her holding hands with other people in public to prove that she's touchy-feely with her friends. IDK. I think it's possible either way.
  20. Trevor has to be pushing 40. He was old when he was playing a teen on 90210. Is Paris even 20 yet? I mean, it's their lives and all. I just googled. Apparently, they're just good friends.
  21. To be honest, I don't even remember episode 1 at this point. For the first time ever, I actually watched the whole season in one sitting this morning, so it's all one big blur lol This was a pretty good set of episodes! Unlike previous seasons, they pulled me in right from the beginning, and they managed to stay on the side of good sense for most of it. Well done, Degrassi. Of course, I have thoughts, but I'll keep them brief: - Esme's slow descent into a meltdown was finely done by the writers and the actress. I'm worried that they're relying too much on the "downward spiral" storylines, though. - Fck the entire "inclusive" gang. If they're our new core characters, I don't know if I want to watch next season. They just completely sucked this entire go-round. - Tiny lost some points with me for his involvement with the Saad drama, but I feel as though they just used him as a generic bully because why not. - Yael is not an interesting character no matter what they do with her. - Zig is an idiot, and I won't miss him. - I wish there'd been more Miles and Tristan this season. Their relationship continued to be the most mature thing the show had going, and it kinda sucks that they just packed all of the drama into the last few episodes. I don't think they were stiffed a happy ending at all. High school graduation is by no means at all an "ending" for anyone, honestly, and there's no reason to believe they couldn't reconnect later on. It was open-ended. - I went back to disliking Shay this season. I was especially aggravated by her presumption regarding Tiny's promposal. - Maya remained one of the most well-written and layered characters, IMO. She will be missed. - Glad they gave Winston a little bit more to do this season. I'm going to miss him and the actor a ton. - Zoe's ending really felt like they were originally going to have her mom show up and send her off happy, but then someone decided they needed more drama at the very end, so voila. I wasn't too thrilled with it, and I hate that she burned the letter without reading it. - Frankie sucks. I'm glad Jonah and Grace just kinda moved past her initial anger and didn't give a fck. They're good together. - And last but not least. Saad was a BRILLIANT addition. The actor was fantastic, and the character's inner struggles were great to watch. As much as I liked the idea of him being in Maya's orbit last season, it was very wise choice to put him with Lola. His younger siblings were also nice background characters. The only problem, and this is a DNC problem altogether, is that we never saw his parents. Great season, though, possibly the best all-around season. The others, once they got going, were better, but this one maintained a steady flow from start to finish in a way the others did not. Forgot to mention - MY BABY CRAIG It was so good to see him!
  22. On episode 2, and I swear, I will never miss Shay or Frankie. Zig and Tiny are about a breath away from being put in the doghouse, too. I like the mini-arc with Miles and his writing, but I hated the piss-poor, half-ass "crossing the line" activity that Mr. Mitchell orchestrated out of nowhere. Winston is
  23. I can't wait to watch this season! I don't expect to be roped in from the very beginning because that's just the way this show has worked for me, but if history repeats, I'll be pretty invested by the halfway point. Adamo is just so
  24. So many of AMC's early 80s hairstyles were questionable. Which, I know, it's the 80s, but still. I've been watching some episodes from 1983-1985, in order (but mostly nonconsecutive), off and on, and I hate Devon's hair, and Donna also had a similar cut for a while. Watching these episodes have really really made me hate Tad and the whole idea of Tad as the lovable cad/rogue. He was a piece of sh!t. Darnell Williams was just as ticky and over-the-top back then as he was when he returned near the end, even moreso in the early 80s. I never realized how incredibly sexy Laurence Lau was in so many ways. Greg was a bit of a goober, but he had a ready strength about him that was appealing, plus LL was hitting 30 and still was hotter than most soap guys who were younger than him at the time. I also never realized how much a loose cannon Tom was. I mean, I know they introduced him in 1977 with the whole football player, hot-headed Catholic thing, but I guess I expected him to grow up much more by the 80s. It's crazy to see Brooke mixing it up with Tom and Mark knowing that by the end of the decade she'll be involved with Tad, who was still written as a kid at the time. I'm currently in the era where Phoebe, Langley, and Palmer are trying to stop Adam from building a "gambling mall" in Pine Valley, and Ruth Warrick is running sh!t, as to be expected. When Phoebe and her supporters are faced with the task of getting 5,000 signatures in a day and a half, everyone feels defeated, but Phoebe perks them up and tosses out the most delicious "Watch out!" as they resolve to win and the screen fades to black. RW was a TREASURE. Then later, she compares the newly-married Mrs. Erica Chandler to Eva Braun at the Glamorama in front of everyone. Good stuff.
