Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Famed musician and original cast member, Alvin Stardust (72), has passed away. He portrayed Greg Andersen, the brother of Celia Osborne and the first landlord of The Dog in the Pond. After their daughter, Natasha, died from ingesting a spiked drink at a club, Greg and his wife Jane left town with their other daughter Sarah and sold the pub to Celia and Jack.

Peyton Place
Okay, I've watched the first four episodes. It seemed odd to me that Mia Farrow got star billing, but Ryan O'Neal didn't. And did they not have bags in the sixties? Poor Allison is going to get a hunchback with all those books she's always carrying around. That said, the chemistry between Allison and Rodney was instant. Them becoming stars are really all I know about this show so NO SPOILERS please. I don't quite get why Constance's secret is such a big deal, unless there's more to it other than her having lied to Allison about the type of hospital she was born in? I guessed she was a bastard child and that's why Constance is so worried about Allison dating Rodney. Most of other characters seem interesting, though Mrs. Harrington has a weird diction that will take some getting used towards. I did like that glaring look she gave Barbara's mother, whose name I can't remember at the minute, almost like she knew she was carrying on with her husband. Plus, she's the only one that dresses fabulous on this show.

The Vampire Diaries: Discussion Thread
Season 5 had the best episode of the entire series and was a huge improvement after S4. But still, I never really hated any season. It's not like the show ever got Dexter bad and in YRBB's case, I always find binge watching a show makes any bad periods a lot less noticeable. YRBB, I appreciate your appreciation. People who spoil should be beaten within an inch of their life.

I don't think they ruined the series, I especially liked Rebecca, but the last season without them was all the better for it. Plus, I don't want watch The Originals either. I was alluding to

The Vampire Diaries: Discussion Thread
The first two seasons are perfection. I originally watched for Zach Roerig, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, who I loved from their previous work and just grew to be surprised at how good the show actually was, which I had huge doubts about being a CW show. The best character from the entire show hasn't even arrived yet. So keep getting hooked. And Jeremy (Stephen R. McQueen) is the grandson of the legendary actor Steve McQueen. And most importantly, this show definitely has the most eye candy of any series, ever. Almost every single guy that shows up is a total babe. Heck, the hottest guy of all (next to Roerig, for me) doesn't even arrive until season 5.

Thanks you so much for posting, vet! I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Dark Shadows Discussion Thread
A controversial figure. He was a part of some great times at Dark Shadows and OLTL, but he seemed to truly detest the soap genre in interviews.

Peggy was the surprise tonight. Barbara Windsor was hammy as all get out. (Is that the phrase?) Anyway, I was far more excited to see that Ronnie is back. I missed her like crazy.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
YOU BLASPHEMER! Charity IS Emmerdale! I am actually shocked Declan has a fan. This storyline (starting with his breakdown/hitting Megan) is the only time he has ever been remotely interesting. Of course, don't cry yet, there is still tomorrow ... I think we can both agree, at least, that Kate Oates has given us another splendid climax.

QUEEN Charity's line, "You were never a match for me," was the perfect cap to a brilliant episode.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
A new emo character is coming: http://www.digitalspy.ca/soaps/s13/hollyoaks/news/a598862/hollyoaks-to-introduce-new-teenage-regular.html#~oQRAKGhZWa9BSJ So, not only are the new unnecessary McQueens going to be poor substitutes for the original creations, but now Kirkwood is blatantly bringing back one of my favourite characters in a new form. This just pisses me off, to be honest. The guy has been stealing from himself and classic EastEnder's plots his whole 2.0 run and now he's not even trying to hide the fact that he has completely lost any originality whatsoever.

Holy !@#$%^&*] at Declan hitting Charity in the face with a [!@#$%^&*] meat tenderizer! Only on Emmerdale.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Ah! I was right about Declan! I am at the edge of my seat to see who dies this week. As I said before, Charity is the last great, classic female vixen/bitch/villain left. I will be at my wits end if she meets her maker. The great thing about the UK shows is the uncertainty. If Emma Atkins has left I will be utterly devastated. On a brighter note, I love how much they've written Doug to not care for Marlon. When he told Ashley he didn't understand why Laurel traded him in for "that bit of rope," I was LoL'ing like only Emmerdale, always the soap with the best comedy, can make me do. And, of course, Sandy. He is just such a legend. Everything he says makes me smile.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Same here. When I first saw those scenes of Winter trying to kill Nicole at the TV station or wherever they were, I was transfixed by Braxton's chilling performance.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Carl, have you checked out the show anytime recently? Blackburn has really done a remarkable job rehabilitating Tracy. He's brought back her close relationship with Peter, which I know you missed. I know I've said this before, but he's also made Sally one of the MVPs of the show, too. And, this Neal stalker story has been must see for me. When could you ever say that about a Lloyd story? I've never seen a story like it before. He's not some loud psycho. Just very disturbed. I can't wait to see where they go with it. It's hard for me to understand how he was so horrible at Emmerdale, but has been pretty good at Corrie so far.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Bob going out of his way to sympathize with Ross was such a heartfelt beautiful moment for the both of them. Bob and Brenda have shown such compassion to Ross. I hope they build a relationship between them. It would certainly piss off the horrible Marlon. I'm going to guess that Declan has finally wised up regarding Charity and is the one that poisoned the wine. Some magazine revealed that someone will soon die. Kate Oates biggest triumph are her amazing climaxes, which haven't been matched by any soap since she took over. I can't wait to see what new hell she has planned.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I never saw her Y&R stint, but Tamara Clatterbuck was great on DAYS as Barb Reiber.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Unfortunately, Kirkwood sees all the characters who came after his first stint as desposable. His biggest WTF this tenure was his treatment of his best creation, Clare Devine. AMS, I can't believe you think Keiron is unattractive. He's not a total babe like my ATD, but he is cute. Of course, I think almost all the guys on the show are hot in their own way.

I always liked George's first boyfriend, whose name I can't remember. I never see all the rotgut stuff you mention since I only browse DS, but I liked their relationship for what it was: George liking Ste, who used him a couple times. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone that actually feared they were going to be something other than that is an idiot.

I've certainly been interested in them for years now. My favourite teacher, a poet as well, was a fan of theirs and once desribed a romantic picnic scene they shared with such happiness, I've always been keen to see it.
