She tells Soap Opera Digest, “Gloria is a little bedraggled, so no more glamour queen,” Chapman tells the outlet of legal trouble Gloria’s been battling in Singapore, which has kept her away from family. “Her loved ones are not happy to see her. The scenes are very funny. It was so wonderfully written and I actually went up to Josh [Griffith, executive producer and head writer], who was on set, and said, ‘I recognize your writing. Thank you very much because this is fun.’ It reminded me of the early days when he was on the show and he turned Gloria into high drama. I think the audience is really going to get a kick out of it and I couldn’t have been happier.” Christian Le Blanc returns as Michael Baldwin after the character returns to Geno City with his mother following her legal battle (see above). Greg Rikaart will pop over to Genoa City as Kevin Fisher on Wednesday, November 22, to help celebrate Thanksgiving with the family. Don’t fret: He continues to appear as Leo Stark on “Days of our Lives.” GOINGS Days of our Lives Martha Madison has exited her role as Belle Black. She last aired on Thursday, November 9. In a post on Twitter (formerly known as Twitter), Madison said, “ Thank you all for the incredibly kind tweets and messages of support you’ve sent me today. The best part of this job for me has always been you! Farewell for now. On to the future….” Remington Hoffman found his character, Li Shin, killed off earlier this month, marking the end of the actor’s nearly four-year run on the series. Camila Banus has officially exited her role as Gabi Hernandez after the character was carted off to jail for murdering Li. She last appeared on the Thursday, November 9 episode. Find out why she decided not to renew her contract here. General Hospital Lily Anne Harrison recently wrapped her run on the show after it was learned that her character, Andrea Gates, had miscarried the baby she was carrying for Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ (Tajh Bellow). Nathanyael Grey (Mason Gatlin) exited the series after his character was sent to Pentonville. Reportedly, the door is being left open for a potential return despite the character’s cousin, Austin, being killed off. After playing three characters on the series over an 11 ½ year period, Roger Howarth confirmed his exit as Austin Gatlin-Holt. The character was shot and killed by a mystery figure on the Friday, November 17 episode. Find out more about why the show wrote his character out here. Haworth previously portrayed the roles of Todd Manning and Franco Baldwin on the show. STAYING Days of our Lives Lauren Koslow (Kate Brady) has been dropped to recurring status, making her the last remaining on-air performer who had been on contract continuously since the 1990s, Jason47 reported. Despite the status change, Koslow is expected to remain part of the show’s cast. ARTICLE: Cameron Mathison Signs Multi-Year, Multi-Picture Deal with Great American Media
“General Hospital” star Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) has signed a multi-year, multi-picture deal with Great American Media, where he will star in projects across the company’s portfolio of platforms, including cable networks Great American Family and Great American Living, plus streaming service Great American Pure Flix. Mathison has already starred in two movies for Great American Family, “A Merry Christmas Wish” and “A Kindhearted Christmas.” Courtesy of Great American Media “Cameron Mathison is one of entertainment’s most prolific and cherished stars and has a resume that is respected across the industry,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “Having collaborated with Cameron on many past projects, I am thrilled to welcome him home to Great American Media and look forward to working with him on content that our viewers will love for years to come.” “It is very important to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories,” noted Mathison. “I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy.” Mathison first made a name for himself in 1997 when he joined the cast of “All My Children” as Ryan Lavery. He remained with the series until it concluded its run in 2011. Later, he went on to star in several Hallmark movies, primarily opposite Alison Sweeney (“Days of our Lives”) in the “Hannah Swensen Mystery”/“Murder She Baked” series. With Sweeney signing a multi-picture deal with Hallmark Media last year and Mathison now signed with Great American Media, the future of the “Hannah Swensen Mystery” series is currently in doubt. This year alone, the two co-starred in the movies “Carrot Cake Murder” and “A Zest for Death,” both under the “Hannah Swensen Mystery” banner. “A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery” aired in October on Hallmark Channel. Outside of acting, Mathison has spearheaded multiple projects as a host, including SOAPnet’s “I Wanna Be A Soap Star,” the weekend edition of “Entertainment Tonight,” and the morning show “Home & Family” for Hallmark Channel, among others. He’s also been a special contributor for “Good Morning America.” At press time, there was no indication that Mathison would be departing his role as Drew Cain on “General Hospital.” He joined the series in August 2021. Deadline first reported Mathison’s deal with Great American Media. GH: Leading Man Out
Thank god Sarah turned down that role. Marty Freakin' Saybrooke would have become another "what's her name" to me and we can't have that. Thank god Susan Haskell came back, but at the same time I was disgusted that she became obsessed with Todd, her rapist, and went psycho over him. Gross.

GH: Leading Man Out
OMG! Really? I don't remember this. Yikes!

GH: Leading Man Out
That's why I hate soap hopping. You'll never be as successful as your noteworthy character. Sarah Brown is one of my all-time favorite actors and she's never been able to recapture the magic of OG Carly. Not with Claudia, not with what's her name on As The World Turns, what's her name on The Bold and the Beautiful, or what's her name on Days of our Lives. Heck, I still don't know what's her name on Studio City. Her Carly was just that impressive!

GH: Leading Man Out
What gets me is ABC saying "enough is enough." First, they wanted Franco dead, so Frank decided to keep Roger by giving him another new character. Now the network says, "kill that character, too. Oh, and we're not going to offer any more contracts to him," referencing Roger.

ARTICLE: Roger Howarth Exits ‘General Hospital’; “Storyline-Dictated” Decision Cited As Reason for Departure
After a Friday cliffhanger that left fans wondering who shot Austin on the Friday, November 17 episode of ABC’s “General Hospital,” portrayer Roger Howarth has formally announced his exit from the daytime drama series after the network reportedly declined to offer him a new contract. Howarth first joined the cast of the show in March 2012 when he and his “One Life to Live” character relocated to the West Coast. In a post on Instagram, Howarth shared messages for the show’s fans and to the cast and crew, first saying, “Daytime fans are lovely and amazing and supportive and dedicated and I am deeply grateful to each sparkly one of them.” He added, “I enjoyed my time at ‘General Hospital’ and wish the cast and crew the best and continued success. It was a pleasure working with you all. Life is amazing. We just don’t Ever know what’s gonna happen. How great! Turn toward the light. Always. Huge thank you to you all.” Speaking with Soap Opera Digest about his exit, Howarth revealed that he was informed by “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini ahead of time about the network’s decision not to renew his contract when it came up for renewal. He said, “Well, several weeks ago, I got a phone call from somebody I’ve known for a very long time who I love very dearly telling me that when my contract was up at ABC, I would not be offered a new contract and that the character of Austin would be killed, and that this was something that both wanted and needed to do to move story. “And it took me a minute to kind of adjust, to kind of hear the news; it took a second for me to let that settle in. And then, immediately, I realized how lucky I was to have been able to do something I really love doing for more than a decade with people who I really enjoyed working with. I’m a lucky guy. I had a great run and this was a decision made by people who make these kinds of decisions for a living. For me, I felt it was very much like the scene in ‘Moneyball’ and Jonah Hill had just told me I’ve been traded. I feel very respected and supported. For a long time I’ve enjoyed coming to work, learning lines and saying them with really cool people.” Having joined the series’ cast in March 2012, shortly after concluding his run on “One Life to Live,” Howarth went on to play a recast Franco Baldwin, a role first portrayed by James Franco, due to his being forced out of the Todd Manning role after ABC was sued by Prospect Park Networks, which had licensed the character for its online reboot “One Life to Live.” Several years later, Franco was killed off and the show once again decided to bring Howarth back as another new character, this time as Austin Gatlin-Holt. “I don’t feel like I’ve been slighted in any way or that there was bad juju around these decisions,” Howarth said to Digest of the show’s writers and their decision to write out his character. “I think that the writers and the producers and the directors work really hard to entertain a really loyal and dedicated audience and I hope that they succeed in thrilling the audience for another 60 years. I will say this: I’m really proud of myself — like, totally truthfully, honest to God, I always tried my hardest. So for me, ultimately, there’s no loss. I know I did everything I could.” When asked if he’d ever want to play another role in daytime, Howarth notes, “One hundred percent. Thanks for asking [laughs]. Yeah! I’m an actor. I love acting. If somebody’s gonna ask me, I’m gonna go! I’m gonna get in the car.” For more from Howarth on his exit from “General Hospital,” including his comments on each of his three characters, check out his exit interview with Soap Opera Digest by clicking here. No. Only "The Price is Right" moved from Television City so far. Fremantle, which owns both it and "Let's Make a Deal" has a studio in Glendale which they moved both shows into. The soaps have not announced their plans for moving as yet. It's possible the move will happen in 2024 though.

Where was this reported that they moved? Unless JPI is just lazy, photos from episodes taped in October have them still at Television City. In fact, J. Eddie Peck did a photo shoot from there last month outside the studio.

RIP: Tyler Christopher has passed
It's a relevant story. I personally haven't posted an article on any of what's since come to light because it's disturbing on both sides. I'll only report relevant information. Now, that doesn't mean I can't comment on it here on the message boards, but that is in no way an expression of me as a journalist. Those are just my personal opinions.

ARTICLE: Billy Miller: Permanent Scholarship Endowment Set Up in Memory of Late Actor at the University of Texas
Two months since the passing of Billy Miller (“All My Children,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless”), the late actor’s family and friends have set up a permanent scholarship endowment at the University of Texas at Austin to help radio/television and film undergraduate students with financial need. Born William John Miller II, Billy was an avid movie buff, earning his bachelor’s degree in radio and television in 2002 at the University of Texas at Austin. He passed away in September, surrendering his life to bipolar depression, which he struggled with his whole life. The three-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor was just 43 years old. “I hope BJ is remembered for the kind-hearted, silly, funny, goofy, generous, beautiful soul that he was,” said Miller’s sister, Megan Hubbell. “His megawatt smile, deep belly laugh and gorgeous mug were gifts on screen, but his true self was a bright light that will be carried with us forever.” The William John Miller II “Billy Miller” Memorial Scholarship raises funds in the late actor’s honor while paying tribute to his legacy of life and love of acting. He is said to have had a secret passion for acting after beginning a love affair with movies starting in the 1980s, specifically after seeing his first film in theaters, “E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial.” Actor Billy Miller (CBS’s The Young and the Restless) discusses winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor on THE TALK, Monday, June 23, 2014 (© 2014) Photo by Lisette M. Azar/CBS Miller, who first made a name for himself in daytime playing Richie Novak on “All My Children,” went on to receive five Daytime Emmy Award Award nominations for his portrayal of Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless,” ultimately taking home three statues including two for Supporting Actor (2010, 2013) and one for Lead Actor (2015). After his time on “The Young and the Restless,” Miller joined “General Hospital” in 2016, first as Jason Morgan and then later as Drew Cain when it was revealed that Drew was actually Jason’s twin brother. “We want something positive to be held in his name in perpetuity through the University he loved,” Hubbell said. “He would be honored to know that even in death, he can help someone else realize their dreams.” Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, Miller was one of just 20 students accepted into the University of Texas at Austin’s prestigious production sequence program in radio/television and film. He originally joined the school in the zoology program before switching. UT was reportedly Miller’s first choice, even though he had several options presented to him post-high school. Azar/CBS “I always admired the guts it took to go after a dream in Hollywood that so many people tried to discourage,” Hubbell said of her brother’s storied career, which included appearances in such shows as “Suits,” “Ray Donovan,” “Castle” and “NCIS,” among others. “He heard, ‘You’ll never make it’ more times than I care to count, but he used those comments as fuel and said, ‘Watch me.’” In a statement released a few days after his passing, Miller’s mother, Patricia Miller, said, “I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ — Billy Miller. He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life.” “BJ would want anyone struggling with intrusive thoughts to seek professional help,” said Hubbell, encouraging people to take stock of their mental health. “Do not suffer in silence or try to muscle through on your own. Mental health is vitally important and shouldn’t be spoken about in silos behind closed doors but rather in open forums with open arms. Shame has no place in the discussion to seek help.” Click here to donate to the William John Miller II “Billy Miller” Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship helps radio/television and film undergraduates in memory of William “Billy” John Miller II. Donation amounts can be customized and given one-time, monthly, or annually. ARTICLE: The Golden Globe Awards Returning to CBS for the First Time Since 1982; Nominations to Be Announced in December
For the first time since 1982, CBS will become the broadcast home of the Golden Globe Awards, with “The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards” scheduled to air on the network on Sunday, January 7, 2024. NBC last aired the awards show in January 2023. Nominations for the Golden Globes will be announced on Monday, December 11. The Golden Globe Awards, often called Hollywood’s “Best Party of the Year,” is one of the biggest nights on the calendar for live viewing. It is also the largest awards show in the world to celebrate the best in film and television. This year’s show boasts two newly added awards categories: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Stand-Up Comedian on Television. Courtesy of CBS In announcing the deal on Friday, the network noted that the awards ceremony “will have the most powerful lead-in audience, airing directly following an ‘NFL on CBS’ Sunday doubleheader.” The three-hour show will be broadcast live coast to coast, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET and 5:00-8:00 p.m. PT on CBS. Stations in the Pacific time zone that air the event live will also rebroadcast the entire Golden Globe Awards telecast in primetime immediately following the live presentation. In addition to the live broadcast on the network, the televised ceremony will be available both live and On Demand on Paramount+*. The Golden Globes helps expand CBS’s awards show offerings, including the Grammy Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards, the Tony Awards, and the CMT Music Awards, among other specials the network airs annually. “Live entertainment and sports have been, and will always be, a hallmark of CBS, and the Globes adds an exciting new dimension to our first quarter schedule this year,” said George Cheeks, president and chief executive officer of CBS. “The January timing also provides the added benefit of yet another signature platform to promote the return of CBS’ new primetime schedule in February.” “We’re so proud to bring the Golden Globes to CBS to celebrate 81 years of awards show history,” said Jay Penske, CEO, chairman and founder of Penske Media and owner of Dick Clark Productions. “CBS has demonstrated an impressive 30-year commitment to the Grammys and been instrumental to their long-term success. In CBS, we found an ideal partner who understands the value of live entertainment programming and whose multiplatform distribution model is reflective of how global audiences choose to consume content today.” “In an age when audiences are viewing content on their own schedules, we are delighted to bring the Golden Globes to viewers globally through CBS’ robust platforms,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “Audiences will have the ability to enjoy our show live and On Demand. We cannot wait to reveal the magic of what will be our most unforgettable show yet.” Produced and owned by Dick Clark Productions, the Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 185 countries worldwide. In June, Dick Clark Productions and Eldrige announced that they had acquired all the Golden Globes’ assets, rights, and properties from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), formally dissolving the long-running organization and its membership for more commercial opportunities. Founded in 1943 by a group of foreign journalists covering Hollywood amid the horror of World War II, the HFPA sought to shine a light on Tinseltown to revive a world-weary from the war. Like many American icons, the HFPA had run its course and was dissolved in favor of a new Golden Globes corporate entity with the expertise and dynamic new leadership to tackle the 21st Century. Dick Clark himself first began producing the Globes in 1983, and that tradition continues via his eponymous Dick Clark Productions, which serves as the production partner for the Globes. Ernst & Young continues to count the ballots to ensure the integrity of the vote. Note*: Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service and On Demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not have the option to stream live but will have access to On Demand the day after the special airs.
