  1. This is a discussion forum. Let's remind ourselves of that. If people don't like what they see on their screen or can't stand a character or a storyline, they are more than welcome to talk about it. Just as they are welcome to discuss what they do like. No one should dictate what topics someone can respond to, what they can say in response to said topic, or should question ones viewing habits. There is something called hate watching, just like there is the concept of love watching. There is no reason to lay into each other because of our disagreeing viewpoints. Worst case scenario, head to your settings and click on the ignore button.

  3. This is SEO 101. Right now, Harry Potter is a hot topic with news that it's being rebooted as TV series. With people searching for information, sites create these Search Engine Optimized (SEO) articles so that when people search for stories related to Harry Potter, mainly when it's coming out and who's starring in it, and even if J.K. Rowling will be involved, Google and other search engines will help rank their articles at the top of the list because the "article" (aka post) provides the bullet points that a user is searching for. The better you rank, the more hits you get. The more clicks, the more money you generate. So, to answer your question...nope. Not too soon.

  5. For those who know what I'm talking about: I do not believe @Noel meant anything by their comment about Kristen and Eric's scenes being acceptable behavior on Kristen's part. As I saw it, the comment was just that: a comment about how they looked good in the bedroom as a pairing. Meaning the actors/characters when you take out the context. If the comment was in reference to a real-life situation, I could understand some of the since-deleted responses.

  7. And that's a problem. No one should have to question the authenticity of a story, nor should people be lied to. The lie gets more traction than the truth/correction, and people will swear up and down they read it at so and so site, including SON (at least not written by Toups or me). Just irritating. Anyway, back to the Y&R discussion. The show is boring and this fake funeral storyline with Phyllis is ridiculous. The only way it'd be plausible is if someone kidnapped her, faked her death and had everyone mourning her. To have her wearing a wig and watching people mourn her makes the character irredeemable in my eyes, as it's disgusting that someone would allow their loved ones to believe they were dead to prove a point about something. And to top it off, they see people grieving over them being gone. Yeah, Diane did it first, but who gives a crap? At least someone tried to murder her which helped justify her pretending to be dead...and it made more sense since A) it happened a decade ago and b) we're talking about a different actor in the role at that time compared to now. I know it's a soap, but I'm getting older, I guess, and I'm sick of the B.S. these soaps are telling as stories. Give real stories to your viewers. This isn't the 80s or 90s. Realism is okay if you mix in enough fantasy to take us from our everyday problems. This isn't it.
  8. Regardless of who's running it, my issue is that we're all competing for clicks and having to provide readers with a reason to read our articles, whether it's the same story read here or elsewhere. We have to build a form of trust that gives visitors a reason to keep returning. However, when you are posting entirely false things, such as "Daniel Goddard as EJ DiMera on Days of our Lives" and placing said story in your news section when it is more wishful thinking (aka wishful casting) than anything else, and said actor retweets said falsehood to gear up support from fans, you are playing with all types of fire. Now posting that B&B could save the Phyllis character, again, in your news section, when she isn't going to B&B, and the story is complete bullshit, all it tells me is your writers have nothing better to do/write about, so they have to create things out of thin air to generate a pageview. I'm not being a "hater" I'm just pointing out how it looks.

  11. Set to premiere later this year, CBS has given a series order for “Buddy Games,” an all-new reality competition series inspired by executive producer Josh Duhamel and his real-life experience where for the past 20 years the “All My Children” alum has spent one weekend each summer with his childhood friends as they compete in a variety of competition-style games. Duhamel, who also starred in and directed a 2019 film adaptation of the game, will serve as the show’s host. Set at a stunning lakeside location for a nostalgic adult summer camp adventure, the CBS series finds best friends from different backgrounds who are offered the opportunity to live together, compete in wild challenges and prove their bonds run deep. Broken up into six teams of four deep-rooted friends who previously met at various stages of their lives, these “Ride or dies” get the chance to play “buddy games” where they will relive their glory days and compete in an assortment of absurd physical and mental challenges in the outdoors while bunking together in the same lake house. Friendships will be rekindled and rivalries will be reignited when these friends are challenged to prove which bonds are strong enough to withstand the competition. The last buddy team standing will be crowned champion and take home a cash prize, the coveted Buddy Games trophy, and bragging rights. “Being able to bring ‘Buddy Games’ to CBS is truly a dream come true for me,” said Duhamel. “This is something my buddies and I have wanted to share with the world for a long time as we knew there was a relatability to it with other people doing similar things to strengthen their friendships. For me, getting to executive produce and host ‘Buddy Games’ while observing these groups of friends let loose and become part of this big family has been an honor and will be a lot of fun for viewers to watch.” Produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and CBS Studios, executive producers include Duhamel, Michael J. Luisi, Julie Pizzi, Rupert Dobson, Jacob Lane and Emer Harkin. A follow-up to the original “Buddy Games” movie is currently in the works with Duhamel writing and producing. Paramount is set to distribute. Check out a teaser trailer for the competition series below. 12. Based on the bestselling book series by Paula Danziger, with over 10 million copies in print, Apple TV+ has decided one season was enough for the kid series “Amber Brown,” which showed an unfiltered look at a girl finding her voice through art and music in the wake of her parent’s divorce. Starring Carsyn Rose in the title role, the show starred “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew as Amber’s mother, Sarah Brown, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Darin Brooks as Max, the new man in Sarah’s life. The series also starred newcomer Liliana Inouye as Brandi, Ashley Williams as Aunt Pam, Michael Yo as Philip and Joshua Gallup as Justin. According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the cancelation comes more than eight months after the entire 10-episode first season dropped on the service and after the show’s cast options reportedly lapsed. The show was written and directed by Bonnie Hunt, who also served as an executive producer and showrunner. Jon Rutherford and Bob Higgins were also executive producers. 14. Such a stupid name. How can they expect to copyright anything with such a generic name? The most they can do is say no other TV network/streaming service can have the name. Otherwise, how do I write articles with that name in the headline? Max's "Harry Potter" Series Greenlit Max Orders Two Additional Seasons of "Blair Cramer" "Batman" Films Head to Max Such trash.

  16. On March 25, 2023, “Days of our Lives” alum and “All American” star Lamon Archey married girlfriend Kristen Terry to become Mr. and Mrs. Archey, nearly two months after the couple announced their engagement. “Mr. & Mrs. Archey,” read a message on Archey’s Instagram page which included several beautiful shots of the happy couple captured by photographer Remo Fioroni. Ironically, Archey had prior experience with weddings that helped him prepare for his own. On “Days of our Lives,” his character, Eli Grant, married Lani Price (played by Sal Stowers) in 2020, and during the current fifth season of The CW’s “All American,” his character, D’Angelo Carter, wed Grace James (played by Karimah Westbrook). In fact, in a behind-the-scenes video posted on Instagram recently, the actor revealed he learned to do the Cupid shuffle for the first time (watch the clip below). “I love you husband,” wrote Terry on Instagram. “Who would’ve thought…his physical therapy appointment in my sports recovery clinic in August 2019 would’ve led to the most amazing day of our lives. Special thanks to our amazing live strings musicians @twotownsent, @mckennafolmar our wedding planner, and BIG thanks to my family and friends who traveled far from the East Coast, Midwest, and Canada ! And to my bff @kristina7denton for helping me make it magical. “With a wedding, so much could go wrong and nervous systems could be activated. But somehow through the grace of God, this special day could not have been more FLAWLESS and absolute PERFECTION. I thank God and the Universe for making this one of the happiest days of my life and my husbands. I’ve never seen this man more happy.” The event was held at The Garland in North Hollywood, CA, with guests told to wear all black to the formal event. No exceptions. The happy couple received several congratulatory messages from Lamon’s former daytime co-stars and colleagues, including Paul Telfer, Martha Madison, Stephen Nichols, Brandon Barash, Lucas Adams, Victoria Konefal, Kristian Alfonso, Linsey Godfrey, Stacy Haiduk, Robert Scott Wilson and Tina Huang, among others. Additional congratulations came from Daniel Goddard (“The Young and the Restless”), Gregory Zarian (“General Hospital”), Gilles Marini (“Days of our Lives”), Lawrence Saint-Victor (“The Bold and the Beautiful”), Brock Kelly (“Days of our Lives”) and Redaric Williams (“The Young and the Restless”), to name a few. According to the publication, the episode will reflect on the heroine’s “jaw-dropping life. From running an international fashion house to loving large, her nostalgic reel will be a memorable one.” Since its premiere on March 23, 1987, “The Bold and the Beautiful” has received nearly 450 awards nominations, including ALMA Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, WGA Awards, DGA Awards and NAACP Image Awards, among others. The show has won over 130 awards in various categories, including Drama Series, Drama Series Writing, Drama Series Directing and Drama Series Acting. Among the four remaining soaps in the United States, “The Bold and the Beautiful” attracts the largest overall following on YouTube, with over 282,000 subscribers. Depending on scheduling and talent availability, the channel regularly provides viewers with the original series “Bold Live,” hosted by the daytime show’s co-supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk. “Bold Live” is the only official talk series that allows soap opera fans to interact consistently with their favorite stars. 18. Compared to one week earlier, the week of April 3-7, 2023 wasn’t too kind to daytime broadcast as nearly every series saw erosion in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating, the key sales demographics used to set advertising rates for daytime programming. One major factor that can be attributed to the decline would be audience interest in the latest happenings surrounding former President Donald J. Trump, who, on Tuesday, April 4, was formally indicted on 34 felony counts of falsification of business records in the first degree. As a result, nearly every daytime broadcast show was preempted all or in part due to coverage by their respective network’s news division. The only programs aired without any interruptions for the week were “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna,” “TODAY 3rd Hour” and the second half-hour of “The Price is Right.” “The View” tied for second place in Women 18-49 (0.4 rating) and fourth place in Women 25-54 (0.5 rating). Along with “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (W18-49: 0.2 / W25-54: 0.3), the two shows were the only daytime broadcast programs to see week-to-week increases or stay relatively flat in both demos. Additionally, “The View” was the only show to see growth compared to its 2021 performance in Women 18-49 rating. For the week, “The View” led all daytime network talk shows and news programs with an average of 2.462 million viewers each day*. It was followed by “TODAY 3rd Hour” (2.063 million), “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.538 million), “The Talk” (1.420 million) and “NBC News Daily” (1.134 million). The second half-hour of “The Price is Right” continues to reign as daytime’s highest-rated daytime broadcast series, ranking number one in Women 18-49 (0.5 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.7 rating). “The Young and the Restless” tied for second place in Women 25-54 with the first half-hour of the popular game show, each with a 0.6 rating. What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of April 3-7, 2023 in Women 18-49 rating and Women 25-54 rating, including a look at their comparable performance in 2022 and 2021, respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted on Thursday. Notes: Officially, rankings are sorted by the rounded figures released by Nielsen. 19. First appearing in the Monday, April 10 episode, daytime newcomer AnaSofia Bianchi has taken over the role of Charlotte Cassadine on “General Hospital.” “I am super excited to join the @generalhospitalabc family as Charlotte Cassadine! I am forever grateful,” Bianchi posted on Instagram following her debut. The role of Charlotte was most recently portrayed by Amelia McLain, who last appeared on the soap in early March. McLain took over the role in 2021 from Scarlett Fernandez, who had played the character since 2016. No reason has been given for why the show decided to recast the role, but it’s understood that the change is not temporary. In a post on Instagram, Talent Agent Lisa Gal of the Eris Talent Agency said, “A big huge congrats to @anasofiabianchii on her recurring booking on a popular tv show!! We are thrilled for you. It was her first audition with Eris and she booked it!!” Earlier this year, Bianchi starred as Young Maddie in the Lifetime original movie, “My Sister’s Serial Killer Boyfriend.” In 2020, she co-starred in “The Nanny Murders” opposite several daytimers, including Arianne Zucker from “Days of our Lives,” “All My Children” alum Maximillian Alejandro Decker and “General Hospital” alums Coby Ryan McLaughlin and Robert Palmer Watkins. Ironically, the movie also featured Scarlett Fernandez. Bianchi’s other credits include voice work for the videogame “Kingdom Hearts III” and an appearance in an episode of the Netflix series “The Kominsky Method.” She also had roles in numerous shorts. 20. 1.4 million isn't that bad considering it's not a Christmas movie and many broadcast TV shows are lucky even to get 2 million viewers these days. Remember when cable shows used to do about a million or fewer viewers, and broadcast would do 10x that? Them times have changed. I didn't even know Hunter and Chandler did a movie together. Shows how much the Hallmark PR team reaches out to me. Haha.
  21. I expect her to be mentioned in the In Memoriam segment at the Daytime Emmys if nothing else.
  22. Grey Sloan Memorial will soon welcome actor Sam Page to its fictional patient list when the “All My Children” and “Mad Men” alum joins the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” next month, albeit in a recurring capacity. Beginning with the Thursday, May 4 episode, Page will play the role of Sam Sutton, an Air Force pilot who got seriously injured in a base-jumping accident. “Although he’s coping with trauma, he somehow maintains his sense of humor and charm,” reads a character description released by Variety, which first reported the news. Aptly titled “Come Fly With Me,” the episode also finds Link (Chris Carmack) wrestling with his own self-doubt as he prepares for a massive surgery. A veteran of Hallmark Channel original movies, Page starred as Richard Hunter in the Freeform series “The Bold Type,” which concluded its five season run in 2021. In 2022, he starred opposite Alyssa Milano in the Netflix film “Brazen.” He made his television debut in 1999, appearing in an episode of the MTV series “Undressed.” He followed that up with roles in such shows as “Popular,” “Hang Time” and “7th Heaven.” From 2002-2003, he portrayed Trey Shepard on “All My Children.” He later landed a starring role in the NBC series “American Dreams.” His other television credits include guest starring in episodes of a multitude of popular TV shows, including “CSI: NY, “Shark,” “Melrose Place,” “Gossip Girl,” “Castle,” “Desperate Housewives,” “The Mindy Project,” “Scandal,” “Last Resort” and even “House of Cards,” among others. He’s also well known for his stint as Greg Harris in “Mad Men.” Note: The post ‘All My Children’ Alum Sam Page Joins ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in Recurring Role appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Speaking of Byrne, who portrayed Hubbard’s on-screen daughter on the soap, the actress posted a heartfelt message on Instagram in tribute to her lifelong friend. In it, she said, “As many of you are finding out this morning, Elizabeth Hubbard passed away. First and foremost I want everyone to know I made sure she was aware of how much everyone loved her. I would share your comments from social media, videos and your fond memories of her as Lucinda, Althea, every time I saw her. She loved the audience and fought like HELL to bring truth and honesty to her performances. Courtesy of CBS Broadcasting “On a personal level there aren’t words to describe how much she meant to me. Only feelings, which override words in so many cases when it comes to love. I will be sharing more so we can all grieve together but here are our last words together only just a few days ago. I said, ‘Liz, do you know how much you have done for me?’ She said, ‘You can do more.’ Because of what she has done for me over the last 38 years, the strength and fearless nature in how she lived her life, she is right, I can AND WILL do more. I look forward to sharing more about her life, which encompasses so much more than her INCREDIBLE career on daytime television. She also said to me when I told her how much the fans loved her… ‘I tried.’ She more than tried. She left it all on the screen. I’ll miss her every day but grateful the universe gifted me with such a force of nature, of which the world will not see the likes of again.” Watch some lovely tributes dedicated to Hubbard’s memory below.
