ARTICLE: Netflix Cancels Half-Hour Comedy ‘Uncoupled’ After Just One Season
Completely agree with this, especially regarding "Bros." The movie had so much potential but had the wrong person leading the cast, and write the film itself. Billy's character came off as more angry, racist and bigoted than any other character he tried to portray that way.

ARTICLE: Jon Lindstrom On “Pivot” to Writing First Novel: “I Decided to Quit Procrastinating on a Long-Held Secret Aspiration”
“General Hospital” star Jon Lindstrom has written his first novel, currently titled “Hollywood Hustle,” which was recently acquired by Crooked Lane Books and will be published in early 2024 wherever books are sold. The novel is a crime thriller that follows a once-popular film star who enlists the help of a legendary Hollywood stuntman and a New Orleans-bred PI to rescue his troubled adult daughter who has been kidnapped by a murderous gang of misfits. Lindstrom said in a recent social media post, “I think this is what you call a “pivot”? A couple years back I decided to quit procrastinating on a long-held secret aspiration and try my hand at writing a novel. And now, that novel has been acquired for publication by one the best houses in the biz. Reminds me of an old quote: ‘Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.’ That’s most often attributed to Goethe. Apparently, it was someone else’s quote, but whomever said it was really on to something. If there’s a dream, a goal, a desire you have, do it. It’s your life. Live it!” Following the release of “Hollywood Hustle,” Lindstrom says he plans to have a new book published “every year or so after that as long as I’m able.” He notes, “The written word is the foundation of everything I do. I’ve been blessed to see two of my screenplays produced into feature films, and to have directed one of them. Now, I’ve turned to what first inspired my love of stories: Novels.” Lindstrom adds, “I decided to try my hand at this form that would allow me to freely experience the joy, as the great Isaac Asimov put it, as ‘the words appear on the page like magic.’” As a writer, Lindstrom is repped by Liza Fleissig of the Liza Royce Agency. ARTICLE: Netflix Cancels Half-Hour Comedy ‘Uncoupled’ After Just One Season
Personally, I enjoyed parts of the show, particularly Tisha Campbell's storyline even though it came off awkward and icky at times. That said, Neil Patrick Harris' "Michael" was very annoying and Tuc Watkins' "Colin" was not very rootable. So, their breaking up didn't bother me too much. However, their potential reconciliation just didn't make sense and the friends choosing sides schtick was no good. The show had potential and I was semi-rooting for a second season, but I'm glad it failed. Hopefully, we'll get a better "Sex and the City" type series for gay men since "Uncoupled" and the Peacock version just weren't it.

ARTICLE: REPORT: ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Mulling Move to New York Metro Tri-State Area
Currently in production on the show’s fourth season, producers of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” are mulling a move to the New York Metro Tri-State area beginning with season five, reports Variety. According to the outlet, sources say Clarkson has asked NBCUniversal, the show’s producer and distributor, to explore moving her daytime talk show out of Los Angeles where it tapes on the Universal Studios Hollywood lot. The news also aligns with previous comments made by the “American Idol” alum in a Variety cover story where she talked about returning to touring and releasing a new album. “It’s nothing against L.A. It’s just hard for me to be in a place that has one season. I love rain, and I love storms. I’m just from a different place,” said Clarkson to Variety last year. “It’s important to love your life – I love work and I love everybody I work with and I love my friends, but geographically speaking, that wouldn’t be my first choice.” Other reasons cited for the move include the ability to “elevate and evolve” the show, better tax incentives should the show move to a new location, and being closer to family, notes Variety. A spokesperson for the studio confirmed to the publication that there are active negotiations taking place that would see the show moving to the east coast, “but nothing is finalized.” “The Kelly Clarkson Show” Photo by Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal Since the beginning of season three, premiere weeks for “The Kelly Clarkson Show” have been taped in New York City’s famed Jazz at Lincoln Center located in Manhattan. A more long-term location for the show has yet to be identified, specifically whether the show will tape directly in the Big Apple or somewhere else within the Tri-State area. Already renewed through the 2024-2025 television season (the show’s sixth), producers are said to be hoping to keep as many of the show’s production staff and crew on board to maintain consistency, particularly those who have been with the show since its launch in 2019. Ranked third season to date among daytime syndicated talk shows, behind only perennial leaders “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and “Dr. Phil,” “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is averaging 1.37 million daily viewers. Overall, the show has won 13 Daytime Emmy Awards. With the upcoming departure of original coach Blake Shelton on the horizon at “The Voice,” NBC is said to be looking into scheduling scenarios that could keep Clarkson in rotation as a coach on the hit music series should she choose to continue in the role beyond her return for this spring’s season 23 premiere. This season marks her ninth go in the spinning red chair. ARTICLE: Netflix Cancels Half-Hour Comedy ‘Uncoupled’ After Just One Season
There will not be a second season of “Uncoupled,” the Netflix half-hour comedy series starring Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) as Michael Lawson, a man whose life was seemingly perfect until his partner blindsides him by ending their 17-year relationship. “One Life to Live” alum Tuc Watkins appeared in a recurring capacity as Colin McKenna, the man who dumped Michael after he unexpectedly moved out of their home on the eve of his 50th birthday. With Michael completely blindsided, overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City. (L to R) Gonzalo Aburto de la Fuente, Emerson Brooks, Tuc Watkins (“Uncoupled”) Photo by Sarah Shatz/Netflix According to Deadline, with the show barely cracking the streaming service’s weekly Global Top 10 (TV Series) chart following its July 29, 2022 release, appearing only once at #6 with 26.520 million hours viewed, there wasn’t much hope for the eight-episode series after months went by without any renewal announcement. Reportedly, producer MTV Entertainment Studios was hoping to find a new home for the series, including possibly at Showtime, but a deal could not be made. From Emmy Award-winning co-creators Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, the series also starred Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks, and Marcia Gay Harden (“So Help Me Todd”). While Deadline notes that half-hour shows are at a disadvantage in the Netflix ratings system which is measured by hours viewed, another Darren Star series doesn’t seem to have found that to be an issue. Star is the creator and executive producer of “Emily in Paris” which currently ranks fourth in the most recent chart, three weeks after its release on the streamer. That half-hour comedy will be back for a fourth season following an earlier two-season pickup order. ARTICLE: RUMOR REPORT: ‘The Rachael Ray Show’ to Conclude After 17 Seasons
Page Six reports that after 17 seasons in syndication, “The Rachael Ray Show” is on the “chopping block” and will likely conclude its run this season. Citing TV insiders, the publication’s sources say of the Rachael Ray hosted talker, “Her show is ending. This will be the last season.” Another source notes they wouldn’t be surprised if this were the show’s last season because “it hasn’t been doing well for a while. It’s easy to forget that it’s even on.” Rebuking rumors, show sources told Page Six, “This talk comes up every year because the show is renewed yearly. In fact, they’re out there renewing the show right now. There’s never a decision until later in the spring.” Another source pointed out, “They [producers] wouldn’t announce renewal to the staff until maybe March. No one would even know about a renewal until then.” A spokesperson for the show states, “We have not canceled the show.” According to data reported by TVNewsCheck, the show has tied for fourth or fifth place on multiple occasions this season among the daytime syndicated talk shows, averaging a 0.7 rating in households, which, depending on the week, ties it with “The Tamron Hall Show” and/or “The Drew Barrymore Show.” Only “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” “Dr. Phil” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” rate higher in the key ratings category. After kicking off the show’s new season from her home in Italy, Rachael continues to work partly from “the office” and partly “from home” as she’s serving up delicious meals, celebrity surprises, inspiring viewer stories and more from both her NYC studio and her home in upstate New York. Distributed and produced by CBS Media Ventures in association with Harpo Productions, Discovery Inc., and Watch Entertainment, “The Rachael Ray Show” has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show. Janet Annino is the Senior Executive Producer. Note: The post RUMOR REPORT: ‘The Rachael Ray Show’ to Conclude After 17 Seasons appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More

We submitted three scripts from the storyline about Craig’s late-in-life coming out, the impact it had on his wife, Nancy, and of course, his ill-fated romance with the ever-scheming Leo. We felt that these episodes were a good representation of what ‘Days of our Lives’ does best: high-stakes family drama with a comedic twist.” Greg Rikaart, Kevin Spirtas (“Days of our Lives”) Photo by XJJohnson/JPI Studios The aforementioned submitted episodes originally aired on April 19, 2022 (#14320), April 20, 2022 (#14321) and May 4, 2022 (#14331). The last daytime serial to win the award outright was “General Hospital” in 2016 when it was the only drama nominated in the category. The show won again in 2017 and 2018, beating out Carlivati’s “Days of our Lives.” Competing against both “DAYS” and “GH,” “The Young and the Restless” won the award in 2019. The 2023 Writers Guild Awards ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, March 5, 2023, live from the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. For a full list of this year’s WGA nominees, click here. ARTICLE: Prince Harry Says He Was “Probably Bigoted” Before Relationship with Meghan Markle in ‘60 Minutes’ Interview
In advance of his full “60 Minutes” interview, airing tonight, January 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS, immediately following the network’s NFL coverage, the veteran news program has released clips of Anderson Cooper’s conversation with Prince Harry. In them, Harry talks about how he was “incredibly naïve” about how the British press would treat his relationship with his now-wife Meghan Markle. Harry also noted the relationship has given him a new awareness. “What Meghan had to go through was similar in some part to what [Princess] Kate and what [Queen Consort] Camilla went through – very different circumstances,” Harry tells Cooper in one clip. “But then you add in the race element, which was what the press, British press jumped on straight away. I went into this incredibly naïve. I had no idea the British press were so bigoted. Hell, I was probably bigoted before the relationship with Meghan.” In a follow-up, Cooper asked Harry, “You think you were bigoted before the relationship with Meghan?” In his answer, Harry says, “I don’t know.” He further notes, “Put it this way, I didn’t see what I now see.” Harry’s sitdown with Cooper is his first on American television where he talks about the contents of his new memoir, “Spare,” which is set for release on Tuesday, January 10. In talking about why he and Meghan’s move away from the royal family became so public, Harry says, “Every single time I’ve tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife.” He then pointed out, “You know, the family motto is never complain, never explain, but it’s just a motto.” On that note, Cooper comments, “There’s a lot of complaining and a lot of explaining … being done through leaks.” In his answer, Harry says, “They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent.” He adds, “And that correspondent will literally be spoon-fed information and write the story. And at the bottom of it they will say that they’ve reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting. So, when we’re being told for the last six years, ‘We can’t put a statement out to protect you’… But you do it for other members of the family. It becomes – there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.” Prince Harry’s interview with Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes” airs tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+. ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Star Nancy Lee Grahn Tests Positive for COVID-19
Nancy Lee Grahn (“General Hospital”) has been tested positive for COVID-19, the actress announced in an Instagram post on Friday, January 6. While sharing a picture of herself lying up in bed, Grahn captioned her post, saying, “Why anyone would willingly and cavalierly put themselves into a position to catch or spread Covid is so unquestionably stupid regarding their own health and thoughtless regarding others. 96% of planes have passengers with Covid. “Very few ppl are masked anywhere now. Americans have made it clear they don’t want to be inconvenienced by them. Ok, but unfortunately it’s not over yet. Thankfully science has found ways to mitigate a lot of dangers but still to not do ur part in preventing the spread of it is callous. No one knows how Covid is going to land on you. In any case, it ain’t fun and you don’t want it. At the very least keep ur masks on in public places. BTW, I’ll be fine… just thought a visual of what Covid looks like in a relatively good scenario would be motivating ( scare you) into putting ur masks back on.” The actress received numerous supportive comments, including Christian Le Blanc (“The Young and the Restless”) who responded to the news with heart emojis. “General Hospital” co-star Tabyana Ali (Trina) said, “Feel better soon.” Former “Santa Barbara” co-star A Martinez commented, “So sorry, sister. Been there, and just gotta say, your voice throughout the seige has been a great inspiration to those of us — like my family — who refuse to roll over to vigilance fatigue. We don’t know what’s down the road. But letting this thing hang around, cuz it’s easier than resisting it, seems insane. Much love to you, homegirl. May you get well soon.” Rebecca Budig (“All My Children” et al.) stated, “Feel better Nancy. It’s intense out there!” With the show still on holiday break, it’s unlikely producers will have to temporarily recast the role of Alexis like they were forced to do in March of last year when actress Stephanie Erb stepped in for Grahn over several episodes after she took time off for back surgery. Grahn returned to work in late April and was back on air in May. Check out Grahn’s message below.
