As if his famous mom's divorce wasn't bad enough -- "High School Musical" star Chris Warren has now filed a lawsuit against BOTH his parents, accusing the pair of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars of his child acting money.

Warren filed the lawsuit against "Passions" actress Brook Kerr and Christopher Warren Sr., claiming they established a trust for him back in 2001 for all the money he made as a minor -- and have been secretly dipping into the kitty ... big time.

According to the lawsuit, Chris paid into the account for years, but when he decided to make a withdrawal back in 2011 -- as a 21-year-old -- his parents refused to grant him access.

When pressed, Chris claims his parents admitted they had blown through hundreds of thousands of dollars of his money on their own personal expenses ... but refused to say how much was left in the account.

Chris is now suing his parents for all the money back ... even though he's still not sure exactly how much they took.

Reminder: Chris' parents are currently embroiled in a nasty divorce.

Neither parent has responded to Chris' lawsuit.

That's so sad, his mom sounds like such a c u next Tuesday. Well, and dad but I don't know him. But I didn't expect that from Whitney! I wish him the best.

Man I keep forgetting that she even has a son old enough to file a lawsuit!

I cannot get over these people who steal from their children and I don't just mean celebrity children.

Poor Jackie Coogan was ruined by this, and there were supposed to be laws in place after that. I guess some things never change.

I wonder why they didn't pick her for that True Blood role she did the pilot for.

Wow! I had no idea any of this was going on. BK had been with Chris since she was about 14. They had Jr. When she was 15 or 16. Her parents threw her out when she refused to leave Sr., and they had been thick as thieves (no pun...) since.

Wow! Just wow! Can't be easy to sue your parents.

Because she can't act.

That does seem to matter a little more on Alan Ball shows than elsewhere, but...

I had wondered if it was her age.

Coogan's Law didn't help Gary Coleman, Leann Rhymes, etc...

She hardly looks almost 40.

I hadn't seen her in a while - most of my memories are of the first few years of Passions.

OMG I had no idea that she was almost 40. And I'm very sad to hear about this. I always hate finding out not-so-great stuff about people I've liked...and I always loved her as Whitney.

Yeah, I remember being surprised by how old her son was back when she was on Passions.  And here he is, suing age already.

This is sad I loved Brook on Passions and I always had this idea that she was like Whitney in real life....guess not

It's also sad because I have family members myself that have done this to each other and trust me it's not pretty....

This IS sad. She was working on Passions nonstop and should've made more than enough money not to have to spend her sons. His stuff was chump change compared to her years on Passions. I also think it's obvious she hasn't really pursued acting since, because she's talented enough to get roles.

She could easily pass for my age (31).
