Smart man. If anythingh, they should have brought her on as recurring, used her as needed in the S/K story and, as the cast is trimmed, give her a contract and a story later on.

Exactly what I've been saying ever since Stephanie debuted. It's bad enough we have Max going after one of his nieces. Now, his other niece is totally "in love with him"? Get real DAYS! This is digusting!

Glad that Ashley is staying, she is my favorite younger actress on there besides Shayna, but they should put her with Max and get him away from Swamp Thing! Well, I hope this new guy is cute and can act when they bring him on. I swear, sometimes they don't see potential that the viewers do.

This new story idea for Marlena seems promising, and it would be neat if a crimewave hit Salem and Marlena leads the group into catching the criminal.

As much as I like Stephanie and Rose I have to agree. I think recurring would've been a good option. At the very least Days should've waited until the cast was set and the cuts were made before bringing Stephanie on. They have 3 girls and one guy in the young set-they need another male. If they bring Kim and Shane on (and I can see it because Pease loves the show so much she would come back for less money and if her condition is what was reported then she make concessions if Days will accomodate her). then maybe they bring Andrew Donovon on as another male or perhaps he is already with us (EJ but I doubt it), Perhaps they could pair him with Abby or Chelsea.

The loss of Ashford, Reeves, and reportedly Warlock means they would've freed up alot of money. If Brody is out along with Farah, there is more and even if they recast Philip and Shawn they will most likely use newbies there and that will save money. Wayne also left back in May and that no doubt was alot of money off the books too even though he was short term. John and Marlena had a long vacation and that probably helped Days save money and Dee is signing a new contract and I assuming she took a cut like many, if not most of Days actors, did. Hope, Bo, and Kate had some vacations so maybe that helped the budget too and we know the show got rid of some crew too. The ratings and demos have gone up so Days is bringing on some more money so the show's situation is not as bad as it was in April/May. I think anyone who comes back will understand they will be for less money. Maybe SN and MBE came back for less money-I mean we know they wanted to come back so who knows? Most actors in this day and age understand the situation with budgets and all (there are exceptions like Kim Zimmer who will never take a cut). Dee certainly did and she wanted to stay on Days no matter what so I don't the budget will affect any returns. Days does not seem to be as tight right now as Passions is (see my Passions interview post) although they can't go nuts with returns but there is some flexbility there since so many are already out.

Of course Abby stays. She is a half Horton, she is a teen, she is beautifull, blond, good and still a virgin. Those are all ingredience for a big sweeping romance DAYS used to do so well. I´ve never understood why Reilly wasted Ashley only as a sidekick for Chelsea and gave her that lame offscreen relationship with Josh. DAYS has always had young blond heroine who is discovering the world of romance. It´s like a law.

That's another thing I don't get. If D&D have a contract salary, then how did writing J&M off for the summer save money? Can someone explain?

I think Abby and Max would be a great pairing, almost a no brainer for me. I don't think Darin and Rachel have any chemistry together at all.

I would love to have Patsy back with Mary Beth and Peter. It would be great to have the "real" Bradys back together :-)

i could go for a shane and kim return, as long as it was only short term..like GH is doing for Anna, Robert, Holly, and soon Laura...It would be great to see Kimberly return to comfort kayla..or if grandpa shawn dies...(which i'm hoping happens down the line)
