A new Shawn would need chemistry with Bo and Hope as well as Belle if they insist on making them their match made in heaven. So far it's been hell. It will be very difficult to create fans of Shawn and Belle who are new ones in my jaded judgement. I love Philip and Belle, though. In my dreams, Shawn would find a new girl and let Belle and Philip remain the golden couple.

I felt lonely being the only Phelle fan around :lol:

I like Ryan's ideas of Agim Kaba (ex-Aaron, ATWT) and Jonathan Bennett (ex-JR, AMC) as Shawn. But my fave re-cast for Shawn, is still Chad Brannon (ex-Zander, GH).

I too hope that DAYS can convince Kyle Brandt(Phillip) to stay.

I LOVED Agim on ATWT and could totally see him in the role of Shawn. His chemistry with Peter, Kristian, and Martha would be undeniable!!

DAYS: December 2025 Discussion Thread

Today was a bit of a mixed bag.
It wasn't exactly boring, but everything just felt so low energy. Playing a lot of things like a big joke didn't help much either. Days does not need comic relief as much as some people think it does.
And yeah, Susan just needs to be killed off. I'm tired of her.
Everything surrounding Alex and Stephanie was ok, but it reeked of no budget. Alex and Stephanie can't come into contact with anybody due to potential exposure, but they evacuated to a public town square and then had a nice long conversation with Steve and Kayla? OK 😂😂😂
Maybe this would have been better if it had played out for a little longer. But I'm interested in seeing this all play out, even though I think they're missing the mark by not having Jeremy and his feud with Alex play a bigger part in all of this.
As for the Dimeras in the crypt, I felt the same way about those scenes today like I did on Friday: I'm not that big a fan of the storyline as a whole but I did enjoy Chad and EJ's scenes together. I like the way they went from EJ comforting Chad over the custody suit to Chad accusing EJ of being responsible for kidnapping everyone. It's an interesting dynamic between the two of them that I wouldn't mind playing into future storylines.
I wouldn't mind them returning to this style at all. All the elements are there for Days to return to this in 2026, especially with so many characters being weaved into the Dimera stuff.
Chris Whitesell was co-head writer during both of those years. Days should try to lure him back.

Gio gives Ned CPR while Emma grabs the Britch from Bobbie's. Gio and Emma follow his grandfather to the hospital. 11/12/2025 -- As Gio worries about Ned and thinks it will be too late, Emma tells her it isn't too late. He saved Ned, she reminds him, and the doctors will save Ned. 11/13/2025 -- Gio and Emma speak with Dante, who is proud of Gio for the CPR. Gio and Emma hear the news about the break-in and go to Sonny, telling him they wanted the kids to cause a diversion, but they went through with the break-in. 11/14/2025 -- Gio and Emma are dealing with the guilt from the kid's reak-in. Emma blamers herself because there were no animals, while Gio wants to come forward. 11/17/2025 -- goes to see Dante and admits his part in the kids break-in. Dante rips into him, worried about Rocco. Emma explains it was her fault, and Dante continues to spew venom at both, not necessarily meaning for it to come out that way. 11/19/2025 -- good news regarding Ned; worried when he sees Joss flirting with Dalton, and goes over to "save her". After Emma throws a drink at scummy Dalton. Dalton is not worth it to him. 11/21/2025 -- with Sonny discussing Rocco and how Dante doesn't care for him. Michael arranges a meeting between Gio and BLQ at the hospital. She knows he wasn't responsible for Rocco's choice and tells him Dante erupts when he's worried. Gio calls BLQ mom. 12/1/2025 -- Gio shows up at the mansion for Thanksgiving. While the Q's bring the dinner Chase made to the hospital to take care of the staff -- the way Monica would; Gio stays with Ned and they bond. 12/2/2025 -- Taking the pizza boxes out and runs into BlQ. The two bond some more (finally).   12/3/2025 -- Emma and Gio meet at the Brown Dog to talk recon on Dalton's lab.They bring the dogs from the lab to Sonny's house  12/4/2025 -- Emma and Gio show up at Sonny's house with a gaggle of dogs that they rescued from Dalton's hidden lab. Rocco is there because of his fight with Dante, who shows up. Ric tells them that they are compromising Rocco's freedom, because they broke the law. Rocco wants his dad to let it go... Dalton is missing, and what would have happened to the dogs?

Confronts Drew for his misdeeds. 12/1/2025 -- cooking a sweet potato casserole and glad tha Jordan accepted her invitation -- Trina is not. Then Trina overhears Stella and Marshall talking about Portia's pregnancy... 12/2/2025 -- Trina tells Stella that Curtis and Jordan are involved, so Stella asks Marshall what he knows. Marshall admits he knew about Jordan, and that Curtis knows what he's doing. Stella will have none of that! Both are upset that Curtis is heading to the police station

Dalton shows up with "evidence" that Rocco destroyed the lab and exposed the campus to hazardous materials (all fabricated). Amends the charges to felonies. 11/17/2025 -- a conversation with Sonny about Rocco involves the evidence of a break-in supplied by Dalton. Sonny asks her if she believed the boy crying "I didn't do anything like that" could possibly be guilty. She promises to do what she can to find the truth.  11/24/2025 -- Justine quizzes Nathan about whether Dalton came in for questions. Nathan says no, and the two await a CSI report to prove Rocco's innocence. 11/25/2025 -- angry that Nathan removed Rocco from custody of Juvie, until he mentions Rocco's injuries. Justine arranges for an immediate arraignmet and tells Rocco he will be home that night. 12/9/2035 -- checks in with Mac about Maxie's progress; asks Mac if he thinks Dalton could have been killed by Sonny. Mac says yes, but they would never find Dalton's body... 12/10/2025 -- with Nathan, realizes Curtis met with Sellina Wu, brings him in to question him. After seeing footage of Wallow inDrew's neighborhood the night of the shooting, she lets Curtis out. Calls Alexis and sends her the evidence.

She won't go against Monica's wishes. Tracy arrives with the real will, the one Monica hid amongst Alan's diplomas. When it is revealed that Tracy, not Michael, has inherited the mansion. Ronnie points the finger at Martin. He came to her with the fake will, but she refused -- until Tracy was rotten to her. Ronnie admits it felt good to stick it to Tracy, but she couldn't put Monica's loved ones through this. Martin seethes as his plan is destroyed. He owed Tracy this for putting his ex-wives together and sending him to jail in California. The Q's choose against reporting Martin to the police. They leave him to a higher power... 11/4/2025 -- got money for a house in Duke's County. Tracy throws her out and the Q's leave with her 11/6/2025 -- goes to the mansion to speak with Tracy. Tracy half-asses an apology until Ronnie tells her to "Put a sock in it, Tracy" Tracy needs her to repeat it. Monica always said that phrase. Ronnie says they always said it to one another as kids. Tracy reels into sincere apologies and Ronnie heads to Bobbie's. Gio takes her to the airport

Calls Alexis, Jason and Lulu in. 11/21/2025 -- comes across Laura and her flat tire at mile marker 8 and offers to help. Sonny arrives and Nathan is called away. Sonny calls Jason after Nathan leaves. 11/24/2025 -- Justine quizzes Nathan about whether Dalton came in for questions. Nathan says no, and the two await a CSI report to prove Rocco's innocence. 11/25/2025 -- goes to Juvie and removes Rocco back to the precinct. @Vee @DRW50 @Broderick I purchased the 2012 e-edition of Peter M. Bracke's book Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th last October. Alas, it doesn't really have Kimberly Beck clear the air about her 1983 departure from Capitol. The e-edition quotes Ms. Beck as saying, "By the time of [Friday the 13th:] The Final Chapter, I had just left a soap opera called Capitol that I had been on for two years." In the e-edition, she doesn't say that she was "fired" or "let go" from Capitol. However, she is quoted as saying the following:
"You don't do porn or anything like that, but you do what you have to do to sustain the lifestyle that you've created. For me, I owned a home, and I had just divorced a really wealthy man and took nothing. I was struggling just to support myself and retain my dignity. It wasn't like I could be picky. And I had to fight to get that part. I had to go in and read a million times. And that, to me, is respectable."

Even considering what is said in this article as well as this other article, I can't say that Kimberly Beck was legally fired from Capitol in 1983. Should Ms. Beck have been ineligible for unemployment benefits just because the powers that be didn't think she was well suited to play a revised version of the Julie Clegg character?
In any case, I can't say it doesn't bother me that Ms. Beck didn't appear in too much of note after Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter cleaned up at the box office. Yes, she did appear on L.A. Law in 1987, but it just for one episode. Was Ms. Beck offered roles on any daytime soap operas after she left Capitol in 1983? Peter Barton, one of her castmates in The Final Chapter, did appear as Dr. Scott Grainger on The Young and the Restless from 1988 to 1993. (Kimberly Beck has admitted to briefly dating Peter Barton, but I can't independently verify IMDb's claim that they shared an apartment during the early '80s.)
