Just peeking in to say hi! My girlfriend just started me watching OLTL--for Robin/Dorian. I love that a woman over 60 can look so fabulous, have great scenes, and really just own her character. Wish somebody at General Hospital would turn on their television set an hour earlier and get a clue....

Minerva, did you know that Robin Strasser was considered as a Tracy recast on GH in the mid 90s had Jane not been available?

Actually, I didn't know that. I like Robin quite a lot, although I couldn't see her as TracyQ. I do like her as Dorian, though. She's got serious stuff going on--great legs, too. Not that I've noticed--several times....

I have to say something, as she made those pill-popping, drunken, humiliating scenes at the poolside stand out. A great actress and a consistently entertaining and inventive one.

Robin is without a doubt my favorite actress. She can do it all: drama, comedy, romance. She is strong, beautiful and smart. I've been watching since her days as Rachel on Another World and she has the ability to capture your attention immediately. That is star appeal. Robin Strasser is a legend and I agree with whomever said she should get a Lifetime Achievement Award for Daytime Television for her contributions to the genre. ABC should realize their good fortune with talented performer, who has the ability to entertain whenever she is on screen.

I think those are both good examples.
I do believe JB was popular as Vicky. Although I don't know if she got really lucky or was actually good. Her role as Melissa on GH and her off screen antics make me think it was the former.

Maybe the three key Margo Hugheses on ATWT? There was a fourth like Bransford who didn't go over well, but the others were very distinctive and to my understanding popular.
Vicky Hudson on AW might be the same, though I have never cared much for Jensen Buchanan lol.

I thought the scenes between Britt and Jason were well done, so I'll give KT props for that at least. I agree it felt like she was asking too much of him. It's unrealistic to think Jason, of all people, would be 100% committed to anyone at this point and he actually shouldn't have to be when he's just offering help? Britt also has family that would be happy to help her, so it's not as if she's all alone in the world.
The whole Dalton murder and Britt/Sidwell connection is fine I suppose, but it feels like the show just scrapped Emma's only story. All the months she spent trying to get in good with Dalton yet she never cracked the case and now he's dead.

That's great that you've found something to enjoy. I remember my first telenovela as a child - Rosalinda. I was obsessed. I was sooo little, practically a baby, but remember re-enacting scenes from the show, fake falling down the stairs like Rosalinda and fake-getting run by car like she was. I would recreate these hyper dramatic moments all day long. My father cringing every time he sees me. 😄

Cherie Jimenez as Gabi on Days. I am not sure if Camila Banus was ever super popular, but she led storyline and was on the show for years.
Not to veer off topic, but I am also quite fascinated by the Carly situation on GH. I know TB wasn't immediately accepted, while Laura was due to the Bransford situation, but it has to be rare to have such longevity and success with three separate actors in the role. Are there other roles/actors that have achieved that?

Thank you for reminding me! I think I know which ones you are referring to. It's just so hard to follow what is up and what gets taken down from YouTube. I think they've been cleaning a lot of channels due to this new streaming thing.
BTW, I was just watching again and I guess Susan Lucci was on hiatus, because Erica is nowhere to be seen. They left us on a cliffhanger and now I watch every episode expecting to see what happened with her and the clown. Manipulative writing.

D'oh! That makes sense. In that case, Jill Larson (AMC) as Opal. She had the additional advantage of the character being offscreen for a half-decade.
