Thanks @Vee

I remember that era of Neighbours but not a great deal about his character.

Classy of them to name his character after Tristan Rogers.

I do think the show should be trying to find some lesser-known talent instead of trying to find guys who just can't get work in primetime anymore.

I appreciate the ABBA deep cut (sort of deep cut) for their 16K video. And seeing Lynn and Kristina together.

Too bad he'll most likely be wasted on Joss.

Dean Geyer was a former Australian Idol contestant, so the show spent a bit of time trying to replicate the success they had with Delta Goodrem by making his character, Ty Harper, an aspiring musician. You can tell how well that went by the fact that Goodrem represented Australia in Eurovision this year and Geyer is um...not known for his singing.

At the time Geyer was dating Lisa Origliasso - one of the twin sisters from Australian pop duo The Veronicas - and he appeared in the video for their song "This Love". The Veronicas later ended up performing "This Love" on Neighbours while Dean was still on the show.

Geyer quit Neighbours after only about a year, so in the end Ty left to join his girlfriend Rachel (Susan's step-daughter from brief her marriage to Alex Kinski) in London at the end of April 2009. In one of Neighbours' most cringeworthy moments (and that's saying a lot) Callum, Mickey and Ben bid him farewell by singing the song that Ty and Rachel had written (which had been released as a single in real life but only got to number 40 on the digital charts after failing to enter the ARIA top 100).
