I thought it might be the actors saying things in a strange way, but I don't think that's it.

Maybe.

I sometimes wonder if they're allowed to ad lib during taping, or if the scripts are followed verbatim

I really hope it's not the former. Even if the dialogue doesn't always make sense, the script writers still work very hard on those scripts under the most impossible circumstances. Allowing the actors to ad lib would be insulting.

It's not exactly the dialogue being wrong it's more the phrasing being confusing. Like Gabi saying I have known Theo since high school. So it becomes vague like you've known Theo since he was in high school or you went to high school with him? Or when Cat said Aaron was out of town which I think implied while Sophia was pregnant? It's almost like they don't finish entire thoughts on screen.

Today was a weird one.

I can't really explain it. All the elements of a classic soap reveal and fallout were there, but it just felt weird, and handled in a very strange way. It also seemed a little too rushed. The writers, producers, etc. really should've taken more time with this. Gabi, Kristen and even Chad chiming in with random comments wasn't necessary either.

But I did think that there was some good acting today, particularly James Reynolds. He really did sell it, and I am interested in seeing what's going to happen as a result of all this. I'll never be a fan of Lexie being brought back to life, but it could lead to a lot of good things happening for every character involved in this storyline

And I actually did enjoy Gabi/Tony too. Days just really needs to kick her storyline into high gear and have the truth finally come out. It could also be really interesting if that got further tied to Theo, and everything going on with him as well.

I still don't care about Kristen or Leo though. Just kill them both off.

I agree - just kill off Kristen and Leo. Both are albatrosses to the show.

I have truly enjoyed the past few episodes of DAYS. The story has holes as big as the grand canyon but the actors are making the best of it.

Kathryn Foster and Noel Maxam are definitely having a positive impact on the show but PC and JMF are terrible and need to go. They never should have been chosen as the replacements for Ron Carlivati. I still think Dan O'Connor and David Kreizman should be the headwriters.

Today was very couple heavy.

And not a Dimera in sight!

Some couples were nice to see, some were just... ehhh 😂

Ari and Liam stood out to me the most. I like the dilemma that they're in, and her being so persistent and seductive with Liam is completely in character for her. I also like Liam's characterization. It feels like the classic soap trope of the bad boy with the heart of gold. And despite nuAri not exactly setting the world on fire for me, I do think that she and Liam have chemistry. Their kiss was kinda hot too lol but I do think they need to introduce another guy (Theo) into this storyline for Ari, which could further tie this storyline to Philip/Gabi and their storylines.

Speaking of Philip/Gabi, they were sweet today. I just hope all this buildup is worth it for the moment when Gabi's secret finally comes out.

Tate and Holly were ok too, even though Holly was a little annoying, especially with Sarah. I actually wouldn't mind the Choi's trying to get Holly charged for the online posts she made about Sophia. That could lead to something interesting happening. And I do think we should've seen Tate working in the dojo 😉😂😂

And I'm glad that Marlena had Belle to talk to about the will reading, and about everything else. In some ways, her scenes today felt like a closure moment for her/John and Stefano. And I agree with Marlena; as much as I liked Stefano, it's time to close the book on him. Marlena comforting Belle about Shawn was nice as well. I just think Shawn needs to be featured more in this storyline.

Chad should hook up with Holly Tate and cat are boring

Could you elaborate on those impossible circumstances please, @Khan ? I'm curious.

I'm just talking about the fact that the writers have to churn out so much material in so little time, with no real time to tweak or perfect their scripts. Jean Passanante once referred to soaps as a "first draft medium," and I actually think she was right.

Another slow one today.

Clearly, it seems like there's a pattern emerging with all these Lexie/Dimera-centric episodes lol

But I like that Paulina had Marlena, and then Chanel to talk to about everything she's been going through lately. It's a good way to use them all, but I still think Marlena needs to be more involved in family's storylines, and also have a story of her own. Paulina did come off a little extra though. In those scenes, and in her later scenes with Abe. It really is time for Jackee to learn the art of subtlety.

But James Reynolds continued to do a good job, and so did Tyler Andrews. And Theo did look good in those jeans 😉😂

Steve and Alex's scenes were ok too. I guess it was time for their conversation to finally happen. But hopefully, it takes a long time and a lot of conflict before they finally all become the happy family that Steve was hoping that they become lol

I had no use for EJ/Gwen though.

Binged 3 episodes. Finally! Something interesting from these headwriters after a year of nothing. But, who wanted Lexi back? She’d be about 99th on my list of characters I’d want to return. And Days has to recast Theo. Cannot stand this actors interpretation of Theo. James Reynolds does great work as always. Jackee - she’s better at comedy. Leave it at that.

Tuesday was a snore. Back to the Cwikly/Ford just random scenes they favor.

Wed was good, except for the god awful Theo actor and of course Jackee’s ‘acting’. The new Lexi is good, but again, the character isn’t one that was at the top of the list for bringing back.

Another solid episode from my perspective. I am enjoying seeing some stories move and feeling like things are happening for once.

I see what you mean. There are still some things I'm not liking, but storylines do seem a little tighter and less all over the place.
