Now, Smitty, I know you are not out here being mad at Martin (Sidenote...Brandon Clayborn was looking like a snack) for considering security again when he's running around putting people and Nicole in danger by breaking into the hospital records. Yeeeah I can't wait for Martin to find out what Smitty has really been up to.

But this was another good episode for me. I know a few of you have mentioned how Judy Tate is very good at one on one family-orientated scenes. And two things that really stood out for me was Smitty's story about being nervous to meet Anita and Vernon. And I thought that it was a nice little reverse interracial relationship situation since you would expect the boy who had tv dinners in front of the tv to be black while the boy with the etiquette of dining would be the white boy. Naomi and Darlene talking about being policemen wives was also good.

Speaking of Darlene Hawthorne, she continued to be worth the wait for her appearance. FINALLY Izaiah and Eva have some conflict between them that isn't Kat. Not only because Darlene doesn't approve and have her ways which is triggering Eva, but because Darlene don't like Silk Press Sheila at all due to her close ties to the Duprees. I lived for Darlene vs SPS Round 2 and look forward to Round 3. And I already said she has a hint of bougie middle-classness to her.

Speaking of FINALLY, SPS did come across more villainess again in those scenes with Darlene. And sinfully seductive with Marcel. I wished she would stay in that persona. And now they are getting tied into the plasma ring. THAT might make it interesting.

Have I mentioned that I'm a fan of Ashley and Grayson? No? Well, I guess I am. I so enjoy their scenes together. So very much better than her scenes with Derek.

Finally, the subplot with Samantha wanting June to come see her at the cotillion is relatable and I can't believe Samantha snapped at her. Girl...no.

And two cliffhangers with Naomi catching Smitty and Samantha vs June. Two. CLIFFHANGERS.

It felt really good to have two episodes in a row that I wanted to rewatch again. Good job!

Thrilled for the show. BTG has major issues and needs major changes, but I am just happy for the return of the medium at large and for MVJ, and the characters, actors, and stories with potential that do work on the show. Also very happy for Black visibility on daytime, which was at almost a nadir before now. It's barely a year old and most newer soaps had a lot to change in that time, but I believe it can grow. I'm very happy it now has the time.

And I do hope a two year will allow for better paced plotting and some compuppances for Silk Press Sheila.

Bill calling Dani "baby" is going to fuel Hayley's murderous intent even more. I loved the part when Hayley's line about not need degrees to take all Bill's money.

Kat softening a little bit toward Eva was good to see. Eva clearly likes Kat and wants to be accepted, so even a small gesture was nice.
