A break from the kidnapping… even though I like that it wasn’t completely forgotten about today.

I always enjoy scenes of Maggie with Sarah and Holly, even though I wasn’t a fan of all the talk about Holly possibly being pregnant. But I do like that Maggie and Sarah are being weaved into the whole Holly being drugged thing. It’s something at least, for this lousy storyline lol Sophia still needs to be written out.

Tate was a little goofy today though, especially after he found out about Holly’s “possible pregnancy” but I like that he wanted to be there for Holly and asked Ari for help. Btw, it sounds like Ari doesn’t like poor Aaron all that much 😂😂

EJ vs. Paulina was ok too, but in some ways it felt like they were trying to out-camp each other, especially in the beginning. The both of them could’ve used some more direction, IMO. EJ always works much better when he’s not so campy. As for his “relationship” with Cat, I admit, I kinda like the idea of the storyline but the characters themselves are the biggest problem here.

I had mixed feelings about Xander’s scenes today though. They started off really strong, with his therapy session with Marlena. Paul Telfer did a really good job again. I liked that Xander got to express how he’s been feeling about Sarah and how he thinks that she’s tied to his anger. But it seemed to fall apart a little bit once Xander started talking about his relationship with Gwen. Luckily, everything got good again when Xander came to Sarah’s rescue when Victoria got sick. I’m looking forward to seeing their storyline play out, and how they find their way back to each other. Btw, if they were gonna bring in an actual baby to play Victoria in the final scene, what was the point of Sarah pushing around that infant stroller throughout the episode? 😂😂

As for Gwen, her and Cat’s scenes were unnecessary. And with all their talk of Dimitri, we should’ve seen him 😉

Good bye Alice Halsey.

You did a better job than the other kid that played Rachel lol but the problem is that Rachel is just an awful character, regardless of who plays her. I still don’t see why they couldn’t just write Rachel and Kristen out for good and send their asses back to Aremid or something? What else can be done with them now besides this crap with Sophia? Plus, Kristen, as character, is just stale at this point.

Speaking of Sophia, she should just be killed off at this point. Making her into this psychotic Jan-like character was the wrong choice. Melinda should’ve just punched her in the face and Rachel should’ve just told her to go to hell. Btw, the Tate/Holly pregnancy thing still felt like filler. But I did chuckle a little bit when Tate suggested a romantic evening with Holly.

Xander and Sarah were the best part of today. They were really sweet and I’m glad that Sarah is ready to give Xander his visitation rights back. Scenes like that are the perfect example of what I mean when I say that I’m ready to go on the ride with them as they find their way back to each other. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens for them and most of the people around them lol Xander still needs a better temporary gf than Gwen.

And I did kinda feel bad for Xander at the end when Brady came to see Sarah and Victoria.

Just like last Friday, the cliffhanger would have been really good if Days hadn’t spoiled it months ago.

That being said, I really don’t know about this storyline. What exactly is the point of bringing Lexie back to life after all this time? I see no reason for this whatsoever. There’s already plenty of storyline for Theo/Abe/Paulina/EJ, etc. that this doesn’t need to happen. I mean, I didn’t like it either when Renee Jones retired and Lexie was killed off but her final scene was beautiful, and I did feel that it was a fitting end for the character, in some ways. Bringing her back to life now completely diminishes the impact of that. Back from the dead is wayyy too overdone on Days and I was really hoping that Paula/Jeanne wouldn’t be doing it again.

And also, not for nothing, but Days really should be building up and investing in the younger generation not bringing back dead older characters. Paula/Jeanne are very Dimera-crazy but there are still plenty of younger Dimeras out there that could be leading stories. And for a show that’s so cash strapped, I imagine that there were plenty of other, more effective ways for them to use the money that they’re paying Nikki Crawford.

Other than that, today was mostly focused on Stephanie’s kidnapping. And while I don’t hate it, I think they’re kinda missing the mark with this storyline too. Plus, with all the mentions of how Shawn and JJ are helping with the search, we should be seeing them. Thankfully, Steve finally figured it out that Jeremy wasn’t the stalker.

But I did like the way that Roman and Abe comforted Kayla over the kidnapping. It was nice to see her lean on them for support. And I like that they let us know that Bo and Hope are also on the case, and that they reached out to Robin. And, we got a Jett mention too! I wouldn’t mind him moving back to Salem at all 😉😍

As for Jeremy and Stephanie, their attempt to free themselves was a little strange lol but I actually think they work pretty well together. It really is too bad that they didn’t get a chance to work more closely.

If I didn't read the spoilers I would have assumed it was Abby in that pod because that actually makes sense for story purposes. Well, as much as a back to life serum makes sense.

Abe has so much more story now than he ever did when he was married to Lexie lol. Odd choice for a comeback because as @AbcNbc247 noted we already have a lot of characters in that age range on the show.

Lexie coming back could work for me if it's done as a way of ending Rolf's magical serums once and for all. If you play it that people think it has worked, the obvious triangle aspects with Paulina and Abe, play all the beats of what her return could mean, but really it's only temporary as Lexie slowly starts to diminish, forcing Abe and Theo to mourn her all over again, that could be an interesting avenue to explore, whilst ending Rolf and this back from the dead nonsense for good.

I would’ve preferred that too, especially with Billy Flynn leaving. They could’ve given her and Chad a happily ever after.

But that’s also one of the reasons why Days should stop with back from the dead, in general. Because if Rolf can bring back Lexie, who had an inoperable brain tumor, after being on ice for 14 years, he certainly could’ve brought Abby back after just a stab wound. And in theory (even though I would never accept a recast) he could’ve brought back John as well.

Why bring Lexi back when it's not the original actress in the role, and she's only going to be on for five months?

Welcome back 👍

Been missing your posts in the Days threads 😉😂

That’s a really good idea. I wouldn’t mind them doing something like that.
