This is so much better, it's not even in the same league as that other creepy photo.

Not creepy photo 😂😂😂 Clifton looked so weird like an earthworm.

-- Am I the only one who isn't crazy about Eva and Izaiah as a couple? I've been waiting to feel something, but it's not coming. I think the cliched writing is a problem, but I'm also not sure these actors are a good fit.

It's the same thing happening with every couple. There's no stakes.

The writers bypassed Eva's underdog arc by having her accepted by almost everyone other than Kat (even Nicole is an apologist), and Izaiah feels like a laid-back Jacob.

Haven't you gotten the memo? Izaiah's a rebel! (though he's always calm and collected) He's the family black sheep! (acts like an ordinary guy all the time) God only knows how he manages to have a stable job a Benneker these days! (he seems committed to his job)

Nicole/Carleton seem like they could be more friends with benefits.

Eva/Izaiah... I see potential with them.. but I also want to see the conflict and stakes raise a bit. I think Jacob/Naomi not being keen on Eva is a good start.. but I'd like to see what Papa and Mama Hawthorne think about Eva.

What you said about Eva/Izaiaha - with which I agree - could be applied to Nicole/Carlton, Ted/Shanice or any other couple in town.

Today, when they mentioned that Anita’s oncologist was a Dr. Bauer, I was wondering if we were going to see a Guiding Light Bauer. Anita’s Dr. Bauer was African American. Do you think BTG should reference the other P&G shows or let the shows RIP?

That was quite obviously Rick and Mel's son, Leah's brother.
J/K I too was kind of disappointed, as bad as it sounds :(

The show kind of had a potential couple/s that had decent amount of stakes.

Tomas/Eva - They had a good rapport and the stakes were high because Eva was an outsider, his girlfriend Kat was Eva's half-sister, Kat and Eva hated one another, and it looked as though Tomas would have gone for Eva if he didn't have a need of moving upwards in the socioeconomical ladder. Once they hooked up.. Eva/Tomas were done while Tomas/Kat are in a relationship for all the wrong reasons.

Dani/Andre - There were stakes to this unexpected coupling... but now everyone seems to be accepting them without much conflict too quickly now.

Joey/Vanessa - This was a toxic coupling that shouldn't have been compelling.. but the two had a good rapport and chemistry with one another.. A dark romance if you will.... but the show dropped the ball.

The only potential coupling that has potential to be high stakes is SPS/Leslie and Marcel... and I have a feeling that Marcel will find evidence that ties her to Laura's hit and run accident... but she'll also find something that ties him to either the Kenny situation or to Doug's death. So it would be one of those type of couplings where they have something on the other while playing cat and mouse with one another yet also liking the thrill of the game. It could be like a darker 'Intolerable Cruelty'.. a classic 2003 film starring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta Jones

I liked Vanessa yesterday with Dani and not Joey. She needs to be away from Joey more.

Dani seems to be much lighter in attitude the past couple weeks. I imagine it is to project how happy she is with Andre. It works though. I like "Happy Dani" better than the constant scorned/lashing out Dani.

I also like that there are multiple doctors in and out of the hospital scenes. I thought for sure that Anita's doctor would be one we've seen before that also treats cancer. So far, the show is much more realistic in that regard. So far, I'm invested in Anita's story. It's being written well.

I do like Eva and Izaiah. They need to be given more to do than making out though. Kat should start getting on Jacob to tell Izaiah to stay away from Eva.

The last several eps have been much more enjoyable. I wonder if that's because Ashley/Derek and Tomas have been scarce. There's also been less Chelsea, who I can find annoying at times.

Is episode #201 the start of S2? I was thinking S1 was for 200.

I like that they're celebrating NYE with a big party and decorations!

Ugh, the Dani/Nicole scenes will kill me when they hear about the cancer...

OMG, Naomi STFU! She just has to be a contrarian to everything Jacob proposes

That man is one more contrarian reply... before installing grindr.

Its NYE and the first thing Dani can think of is telling Bill? STFU! Their kids are adults and they should be informed first. She doestn need to tell him ANYTHING. If they want to, then thats on them to inform him about their genetic testing. Dani just disrespected her new husband IMO

She has repressed anger at both of her parents... she just isn't able to recognize that because that isn't the Dupree way so she's taking it out on her husband.

I say this because my cousin went through the same thing when her father/my uncle cheated on his wife/my aunt. Before she married her now husband, he stated that they all needed to go into counseling because he didn't want to be punished for the mistakes her father made.

Naomi/Jacob going to couple's counseling is a good first step.. but Bill/Dani also need to be in counseling with them because their back and forth has caused internal issues with their eldest daughter.

date: Tuesday, December 30, 2025 | Teresa Zimmerman, Judy Tate | Phideaux Xavier

Thoughts:

  • Damn! Uptown is hopping for New Year's Eve, and I am loving it! It feels like the hip place to be for the ball drop on the year.

  • The country club looks bustling, too! Love seeing so many out to celebrate the New Year. Could never be me. At all. But love seeing it.

  • JFC Dana... you are insufferable. Beyond insufferable. No one cares about your lies or your continued deceit.

  • Whew... Anita is handling this exceptionally well. Those brief quiet moments are beautiful.

  • I appreciate seeing Ashley and Derek being cordial with each other. That is how it should be if it can with exes.

  • Joey schmoozing it up at the country club is a choice; not going to lie, he does stick out like a sore thumb, and I feel like that is part of Vanessa's grand scheme against him.

  • A tipsy Madison is a fun Madison. She should let this side out a bit more, even when she is not under the influence of alcohol.

  • Kind of speechless this episode because of how exceptionally well everything was woven together. Wow. Outstanding final episode of 2025! Bring in 2026!

Notes:

  • Once again, Zimmerman and Tate did outstanding work with the script work! And Xavier is a brilliant director!

  • The mass amount of established characters on the canvas today makes it feel so full, and everyone is getting their chance to shine. That is rare in American daytime.

  • Tamara Tunie (Anita), Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole), and Karla Mosley (Dani) all work exceptionally well as a mother with her daughters. Perfect casting by Kim Coleman.

  • Love seeing the country club, Uptown, and Orphey Gene's being used in today's episode. So special.

  • Sorry KeKe Wyatt, but Kenny Lattimore is a much stronger performer and a greater guest star! What a magical moment.

  • The final montage was so well done, with an overlay of Lattimore's beautiful singing. Love it. A perfect New Year's Eve episode.
