Apparently Cady looked to be filming in the studio per her instagram.. but I do agree that Pamela has been a miss because of the lack of airtime and playing a character that acts and talks as though she came from 1920s upper crust New England with a Transatlantic accent.

I'm the only one that likes Pamela's wacky ass! I think they need more of her, but I will acknowledge she's turned off many lol. And she used to be redundant in some ways vs. Vanessa, but Vanessa has darkened considerably vs. being a straight-up Lucy Coe comic analogue early on.

And Donnel referring to Jan as 'Aunt Jan' checks out because she probably was more of a parental unit to him and his sister Deanna than either Doug or Vanessa were.

I don't know that we know enough about Doug and Vanessa's parenting to make that call. I do think Jan is a key role where, again, a seasoned soap vet like Cady or someone else could've shone right now (just as with Peaches or Sharon) - especially if Jan turns out to be Joey's ex.

Donnell is very good, even with that Nickelodeon 2000s shag haircut. Instantly more compelling than Ol' Sammy or Tyrell. I feel bad dogging Samantha bc she's genuinely a good actress, but her age has become downright distracting especially as they've started putting her in some Raggedy Ann pigtails to try to make it work.

With so many 'dropped' plots and unexplored relationships the show needs to be careful balancing all that.

Hayley is a character that really needs to be explored a lot more cos I feel the potential is there .The actress is doing her best with what's on offer and she's probably as unclear about Hayley's motives as we are.

Having the talk to with Caroline is a start.

Judging by her outfits and the set decor, she supposed to be a little tacky and try hard, but that doesn't fit with Bill being attracted to her to the point of marriage.

We still don't see what was so enticing about her that he gave up the prestige of association with the Duprees. Was it just that the circumstances(Naomi's friend) was enough for Dani to finally break it off?

But at this point Bill seems to genuinely love her and vice versa(although her insecurities get in the way).

Giving Hayley more depth would definitely enrich the story going forward. We need to be teased with Bill/Dani but have legitimate obstacles in their way eg his marriage to Hayley-not just as a plot device.

See? And I can see Vanessa getting on Pamela about that just like she got on Pamela (for no reason mind you) when Diego kissed her to make Vanessa. And then...we are off to the races.

Too little too late for me. We’ve actually gotten to know Vanessa. Pam popping back up for a feud will do nothing for me because why would I care about the woman who’s never on the show vs the ho I can’t stand that’s regularly on the show.

I just don't care about Hayley that much. On paper she could've been more than they ever did with her, but MG is weak or uneven at best and the character is even more poorly written. Could they change that, sure. But right now I am focused on the heat and sheer force of talent between Dani and Bill as well as the chemistry between Andre and Dani.

I see your point but adding a stronger Hayley into the mix would create more complications. I just don't think MG has been  served well by the writing and is capable of more.

That  whole miscarriage story was bizarre and had zilch logic or motivation.

It was so random. And I do think MG deserves better writing, but I'm not sure she can rise to it. At this point I'd be tempted to recast Hayley or find a stronger obstacle. I'm not sure Hayley is gonna be it.

hahahaha.at the quotation marks. Exactly. ;)

For the record...I like Pamela, too, she of the high ponytail toss. But she is a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Lol. The enemy of my enemy my friend. You will probably love someone stepping to the ho you can't stand. 😜

Yeeeeah at this point, I feel that Andre will be more of a legit obstacle to Bill/Dani than Ms. Dimera...I mean Hayley will simply because she's coming across as a complete plot device spoiler now than a person with depth to make Bill be torn between her and Dani. Andre, on the other hand, we have seen form a bond with Dani and see her at her best and worst. But we have seen fighting, bonding, and heat from Dani and Bill as well. And Bill and Andre both like to mark their 'territory.' So I could easily see a Bill/Dani/Andre triangle with legs. And all three have their own money...as the writing reminded us about Andre today.

And I do wonder when sister Deanna will be showing up.. perhaps at Christmas?

And Derek's journey into being a grey character is continuing.. and I think this adjustment is also probably due to feedback..

If we do see her this year at all, I also feel Deanna will be among us by Christmas. Do we think she will be a bad girl though?

Given I mentioned the increase in Hayley/Caroline scenes could be a hint of feedback finding arriving, do you think so? Because I feel so many here called that Derek would go dark at some point almost from the moment he moved in with Ashley the first time. They just didn't know how he would go dark. And goodness knows he stays being triggered by Andre...like today. Even though Andre is now married then. Then again, I could see him feeling a way that Ashley did not tell him. It was good ole Nosy Nurse Shanice. hehe.

I still don't know if Hayley was faking the pregnancy because she did go to that doctor appointment after her 'miscarriage'.. and Bill went with her.   I have a feeling that it will come up again, but perhaps closer to the 'Season 1 finale'.

Not at all gone. Just on that annoying backburner.

I do wonder if it will be the main draw to Bill's birthday party...assuming we are still getting that. At least by November Sweeps?

It would actually be nice if Dani or Nicole, both victims of cheating spouses actually called her out. It’s so weird that they’ve been devastated by cheating in their marriages but they’re both close with a cheater that will fu.ck any man that’s not her husband and even pay for it.

I also wouldn’t recast Haley. The actress is perfectly fine in what they’ve given her. Especially since Robotmas still gets a paycheck and front burner story while being exponentially worse and quite literally only competing with Sofia on DAYS as the worst actor on Daytime.

BIG BILL:  "So ... why aren't you with your nearly-incestuous, underage husband?"  🤣

I'm mighty impressed with that little boy who's playing Donnell McBride.  I wish TPTB would suggest he give some acting lessons to that grown-ass Tomas.

I'm sure we'll find out more about Hayley's "pregnancy" as time passes.  In fact, if she was lying about it (and I still suspect she was), that might ultimately be what pushes Bill back to Dani Dupree for Round #2.

I can always find something to complain about with this show (June's warp speed move from the underpass to the soul food cafe), but typically they never drop a storyline thread.  Even immediately after Doug's death, when Vanessa was in the police station with Jacob, she was being assured that if any foul play was involved in Doug's wreck, Jacob would crack the case.  She said, "What about Laura Peterson? Did you solve that?"  Everything that's happened seems to still be on the writers' minds and comes back into play at some point.

Your last paragraph I really appreciate as Jacob has made it clear, something about Doug’s death is off to him as well. Jacob being such a goody two shoes annoys me some days but I also recognize we need him to hopefully take down some corruption, Plus the actor is sexy.

I suspected Hayley's "pregnancy " plan got altered when she tripped and fell in Bill's office. With Bill insisting on seeing if the baby was ok, Hayley had to pivot with Sammy/Randy having to assist.

I also think they dropped a bit of foreshadowing when Bill and Hayley were discussing "the baby" and Bill said he would continue to put money in a baby fund.

So now the question is 1. The connection between Hayley and Randy.

2. Did Hayley only marry Bill to drain him dry

Re the dialogue. It comes off clunky at times by feeling the need to reference stuff explicitly.

There were a few examples  today but one minor example comes to mind-when Derek returned to the nurses station, Ashley asked 'Have you finished your physical therapy session already'?

All she needed to say was something along the lines of "Finished already?"

Or when Dani said about someone finding out about the marriage through 'the Anita impersonator on social media' instead of just saying 'social media'.

Maybe not the greatest examples but there is a lot of that  stuff that sounds phoney and unnecessary.

Hope you get the gist of what I'm saying.

I agree 💯. I noticed some of the lines are like they were written for a novel and not a television soap opera. They are too long and as you put it "clunky". I've also noticed some of the men have varied dialogue when the dialogue writer changes. I haven't made clear notes on who wrote what, because I just don't have the time... But I've heard men say stuff that are very atypical in style for men to say. Feminine dialogue that sounds absurd. Then when a more adequate dialogue writer is doing the work... The men sound normal again. It's not consistent overall and pretty messy. Someone in charge however should be overlooking this and taking steps to fix it. One more thing that doesn't help clunky literature sounding dialogue is lack of background music or inappropriate one for the mood of the scene. Something that they also like to do. I've seen scenes where Temu Ronn Moss is talking his clunky lines and there is this somber piano going behind him while he is talking about getting it on with Kat. I'm yet to hear really smart dialogue or stunning monologues from this show. I think with time it will happen, but for now it's very mediocre.
