Winning two Emmy Awards during his run as Morgan Corinthos on “General Hospital,” actor Bryan Craig is looking to return to daytime soaps, noting interest in either reprising his role or taking on a different character altogether.

Following last week’s news that “Days of our Lives” would be recasting the role of Javi Hernandez after Al Calderon opted to depart the soap opera as he has landed a series regular role on NBC’s “Brilliant Minds,” Craig shared interest in taking over the role in a post from Saturday, August 2, saying on X (formerly Twitter), “@daysofourlives I hear you’re in need of a ‘Javi.’”

Interestingly, Craig played the role of Javier “Javi” Mendoza on the ABC primetime soap opera “Grand Hotel.”

Executive produced by Eva Longoria (“Desperate Housewives”), the series followed the last family-owned hotel in multicultural Miami Beach, which gave a fresh take on an upstairs/downstairs story surrounding wealthy and beautiful guests as they basked in luxury, scandals, escalating debt, and explosive secrets hidden beneath the picture-perfect exterior.

In a follow-up post on X, posted on Sunday, August 3, Craig noted he was also game for a return to Port Charles and thanked the show’s fans for their support of him throughout the years.

“Just want to say thank you. I appreciate all the love and support all the @GeneralHospital fans and the tabloids have given me,” said Craig in his X post. “It will ultimately be up to @ABC_Casting @ABCNetwork @valentinifrank,” he added, referring to the show’s executive producer Frank Valentini.

This isn’t the first time Craig has shared an interest in returning to daytime.

In September 2020, when most of the daytime soaps had already returned to production following the height of the Covid pandemic, Craig took to Twitter (before its rebrand), saying, “I’m ready to work and up for grabs so who’s it gonna be?” The actor attached the official handles of the four daytime drama series at the time, including his old stomping ground, “General Hospital.”

More recently, Craig shared cryptic messages on his Instagram stories timeline last month, including a screenshot of a post that said “Morgan Corinthos” with the phrase “IYKYK,” referring to “If you know, you know.”

“What do the fans want?” asked Craig in response to a post about his possible return on X.

Winning the Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2016 and 2017, respectively, for his portrayal of Morgan Corinthos on “General Hospital,” Craig departed the soap as a series regular in 2016. He subsequently made a brief appearance in early 2018 during an episode dedicated to Ava Jerome (Maura West), his character’s former love interest.

Craig also returned to “General Hospital” for a single episode aired in August 2024, sharing scenes with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) as Morgan appeared to his father, who was going through a manic episode. At the time, Sonny was preparing to do the unthinkable as he believed his departure would be in the best interest of his family, particularly as he insisted he had failed them as not only a husband and father, but as a man.

“I can rest knowing my kids are taken care of,” a disappointed Sonny told Morgan following the devastating news that his daughter, Kristina (Kate Mansi), was fighting for her life after losing the baby she was carrying for Molly (Kristen Vaganos). “I am helping all my kids by keeping them safe from me.”

Thankfully, Morgan’s words of encouragement won out in the end, and Sonny remains alive and well in Port Charles. But can the same be said for Morgan? It wouldn’t be unheard of, considering Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) recently resurfaced despite a very public death.

In 2022, Craig joined the cast of Freeform’s “Good Trouble” as a series regular starting with Season 4, playing Joaquin, an independent investigative journalist with a mysterious background. He remained with the show until its conclusion after five seasons in 2024.

ALT Title : Unemployed actor open to work after not booking a job for a year. 😎

Well, no shame in putting yourself out there I guess. Though it'd be odd to see a Javi that suddenly grew taller than Leo.

If I know Bryan Craig, I strongly suspect he has no idea Javi Hernandez is gay lol.

@carolineg please get in on this, it's the joy of my week.

Sorry but he is coming off far too desperate, especially after he sh*t-talked GH after he left... and now, because he can't gain employment, he wants back in.

I doubt he does. I'd imagine he'd rescind his offer immediately if he found out.

I leave for a few hours and B-Dog is begging for a job?  As a gay man that has sex scenes with Greg Rikkart's Leo?  He probably doesn't realize Gabi is his cousin not his love interest/wife.

I actually couldn't think of an actor more ill-suited for the role.

I know Bryan has a really huge ego, but does he think anyone Days cares he's available?  He's been available for years lol.

This reminds me of when Cheryl Ferguson after being killed off EastEnders kept going to the press trying to get hired. Didn't really work for her either.

This is probably around the time actors turn to OnlyFans.

Bryan and Kelly Thiebaud did used to charge for their fan chats/recordings in the mid-2010s.

I guess they were smart to be able to get money for that without having to do feet pics.
