I'm guessing that Fridays are relatively stronger for daytime in the 2020's because it's the most common work from home day.

Hopefully it continues as soaps could go the way of late night with no original episodes on Fridays if that day can't sustain good ratings. Nice change of pace for all four shows. Proof cliffhanger Friday is still a viable option.

Honestly feel like this was a poke in the eye to long-time viewers. They kept Hope off the canvas for over 20 years, had her inexplicably miss all her son's major milestones, when they talked about her they made her into an incurable drunk.
Then it's like, "Hey! We didn't forget about her--let's have her cousin who doesn't know her at all keep her name for her baby!" Like they should get points for that. 😠

Honestly, I thought the ultimate twist in the story would be that Ivy was Electra's mum. Even thought AB is only 33, it's not like real age difference matters on soaps.

Primetime Soaps

I wonder if Beacon Hill might have had more of a chance in the Monday @ 10 timeslot following All in the Family and Maude as those shows probably scored well in demographics that might be more attuned to something like BH.
Tuesday @10 it followed Switch which was a pretty lightweight offering.
But CBS didn't want to move Medical Center which was well established in that timeslot.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

Yes it was odd to schedule FC Xmas Day. Just throw on a movie. Dallas was pre-empted so why not FC?
FC had just started and needed that Dallas lead in to establish itself.

Creating an outdoor set in Wisconsin February? OK. At least have people rugged up and have outdoor heating going.
Top temperature in Madison Wisconsin today is 42. At 7 pm assumining that's when characters were outside it is 35. Those GC residents are of hardy stock.

I'm sure I'm way off base this time, recasting-wise, but I've wondered whether Norman Lloyd, who worked with Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles, and who portrayed Dr. Daniel Auschlander on "St. Elsewhere," might've made for a better Edward recast than John Ingle.

@Reverend Ruthledge Cassie named it when she adopted the daughter, thinking Dinah was the surrogate. Dinah miscarried and passed Michelle's baby off as her own. Cassie named the baby Hope by coincidence, and Michelle kept the name because she had a cousin with that name- family name.
