Threads of Time

In a follow-up to “Forever and a Day,” which is set to conclude this year after five seasons, the team behind the Indie Series Award-winning audio drama recently announced “Threads of Time,” featuring soap alum Tonja Walker (“One Life to Live,” “General Hospital”).

Premiering September 20, 2025 on all major podcast platforms, the audio soap opera is set in the fictional town of Chesterfield and follows the lives of the Forsyth family and those entangled in their world.

The writing team includes head writer Casey S. Hutchison as well as script writers/story consultants Emmy Morgan, Candice Mack, Rob Hill and Sally Sussman (“The Young and the Restless, “Generations”).

“We’ve always believed in the power of the soap opera genre to tell stories that are emotional, thrilling, and deeply human,” said Hutchison who also created the series and executive produces. “‘Threads of Time’ is our continued love letter to the genre, and to the fans who crave layered, character-driven storytelling.”

With the use of character visuals, atmospheric video backdrops, and cinematic opening credits, ushering in a new era for the scripted podcast genre, the show promises unforgettable drama, passion, love, betrayal and redemption, while blending traditional storytelling with an innovative multimedia approach.

In addition to Walker, the cast includes Elizabeth von Isser, who portrays twin sisters Evelyn Baker-Forsyth and Eleanor Baker, BJ Van Griffin, Candice Mack, Ashley Stewart, Dorell Anthony (“Pride: The Series”), Joshua Zac Philip, Kristina Sullivan, Diana Collins, Bart Peter Black, Matthew Preston, Natasha Partnoy and Aaron Clark.

Cast member Dorell Anthony has been named as the show’s supervising producer.

As for Sally Sussman, who has also signed on as a scriptwriter/story consultant, the Daytime Emmy Award-winning writer is best known for creating the iconic series “Generations,” the first daytime soap opera to include a predominantly Black cast, more than 30 years before the launch of “Beyond the Gates” in February. She’s also received several Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work on such shows as “Days of our Lives” and “Spyder Games,” as well as serving as head writer of “The Young and the Restless,” where she her first Emmy Award in 2006.
