Members Maxim
In 2003-2004 Ridge had embraced that he is a Marone and Massimo had dinners with Steffy and the other children as their Grandfather. It was during a time where Ridge and Eric had a strained relationship. For years it was written like that and Massimo and Ridge were portrayed to have similarities. He even had a statue made in the likes of his son Ridge. Ridge was president of Marone Industries for couple of seasons. That was also the time when Ridge embraced he is not a Forrester and felt drawn and attracted to Bridget Forrester - in one of the most disgusting storylines... he and Bridget had multiple passionate kisses and couldn't contain their desire for each-other. Bridget is... as we know... a Forrester - she is the child of Brooke and Eric Forrester. So... all I'm saying is that Bradley once made it very clear to us the viewers that he doesn't see Ridge as a true Forrester anymore. He was a Marone... and he went as far as getting him involved with someone he thought was HIS SISTER - Bridget. I'm just a viewer that's seen all of this... So... I just can't forget it. And If it was just about the money... (Like you mention Stephanie's father giving him the founding start)... then Brooke has the most right to Forrester because she created BeLief and after that... the most successful lines in the company's history. But it is not all about money. Anyways.. I don't want to beat that dead horse for the millionth time. We just disagree on this... And that's fine. Members Aback
That era of B&B when the Jack storyline played out was dark and dreary. That said, on paper, I loved the idea of Taylor carrying Brooke’s child. It was a pretty clever twist on the classic “Who’s the daddy?” trope. It’s a real shame they’ve completely erased it from the show’s history. Jack should come back as a major villain — stalking Brooke, gaslighting Taylor into madness. It practically writes itself. But in true B&B fashion, Brad will probably just pretend it never happened. As for Nick… he looked leathered and very much resistible even years ago. I’m not exactly excited to see him in 2025—unless it’s just a short arc, which I’m guessing it will be.
Members Chris B
I'm excited about this only because it's something new. It's also nice to see B&B revisiting a past character. I don't understand why they don't rotate past characters in for story arcs. Right now you have Electra but no Jessica. They could easily recast Jessica if they don't want to deal with Maitland Ward. Laura Leighton or Gina Tognoni would work in a pinch. Amber is another good example of someone who could come back for an arc. Of course we know Brad won't do anything earth shattering with Nick but I look forward to seeing him and at least getting a summer break from the Taylor/Ridge/Brooke story.
Members dragonflies
Or cast Ivy's retconned brother(Electra's dad) and bring him on the show lol
Members bongobong
I get your point about rotating in and out past characters... but Jessica? Why waste those actresses on such a non-entity. At least Ivy gives B&B the opportunity to promote the show in Australia where the show is popular.
Members Chris B
Wait, I assumed Jessica was Electra's mom, I had no idea they retconned a new brother to be her father. That is even more insane than what I initially thought.
Members dragonflies
Nope she's not Electra's mom, it's some made up brother John Forrester Jr
Members Chris B
That is so stupid. Ivy is one thing but I don't understand the continued erasure of Maggie and Jessica when it comes to that side of the family.
Members dragonflies
Yeah she should have been Maggie's daughter or even grand daughter(with this show it wouldn't shock me if Jessica was a grand mother lol)
Members CrazySexyQ
I loved Nick and Brooke's relationship. He was so charming and she never had to beg him to love her (if my memory is holding up.)
Members Maxim
You are right about that... but only in the first few seasons with Nick. Then...she did beg after couple of rounds. That's when it started NOT WORKING. When they paired him with Taylor... that's when sh-t hit the fan. Brooke would beg him to choose her every single day. It was unbearable to watch. I remember there was a scene where she went in and jumped him on bed, while he was engaged to Taylor... and begged him to make love to her. That's when Taylor came and diagnosed her with - "You're narcissistic, histrionic and quite frankly... I think you're borderline."
Members CrazySexyQ
Thanks for the history. I knew I was missing some stuff. Or maybe forgot on purpose. I just always remember that their beginning was so flirty, fun, and full of romance. And they had a random kid out there, but Taylor carried him. There was no need to make Nick another Ridge who couldn't decide who he wanted.
Members Maxim
They definitely made him that. And him picking between her and her daughter every other day was also painful to watch at least at the later stages. At first it was just another of Brooke's pathological relationships and it kinda worked in a disgusting type of way. But yes, the beginning had this amazing charm and love to it. And their chemistry was WOOOF. I'm so interested to see if they can still ooze this from the screen.
