Tate has Julie's number because he is on his father's (actually Grandfather John's) cell plan.

Plus, I am pro more texting and calling in soaps.  They visit each other for dumbest reasons.

I mean, the band quitting a lame excuse when your family knows Savanah Wilder for rock bands, or Melissa Horton as a Nashville connection.

So, the secret’s out.

I didn’t dislike the reveal, but I wish they had played it out for a little longer. Tate and Doug III have barely had any scenes together, and no time to really let their rivalry grow lol. Immediately jumping into the reveal like this feels a little weird. But I’m curious to see what’s going to happen now, especially when it comes to Holly. Maybe we’ll finally get a brawl

Doug III and Julie’s confrontation was really good. SSH did play it a little hammy, but at the same time, I found it interesting. PM did pretty well too, especially in his final scene. I wonder where their relationship is going to go from here.

And yeah, Brady’s still a little bitch. I don’t blame Ava for dumping his ass. At least give your kid a slap, man lol. Hopefully, the character will get a reset in the next few months because at the moment, idk how he’s gonna carry on John’s legacy.

Speaking of John, Marlena and Steve reminiscing about John was really nice as well. It’s little moments like that that I really love about soaps.

And, it turns out that Rita also had a hand in old Rachel’s disappearance. That might mean something somewhere down the line.

2 basic questions, because I'm not that into today's episode.

  1. When they eat at those tables in the square, is that exclusively for The Bistro?  Or could Sweet Bits customers eat there as well?  Because aren't they outside the window of the Pub (which is also open for breakfast)?
    1. Why do people in Salem want to eat outside by a dock?  It has to have an unpleasant smell, given its proximity to the waste from so many local retail businesses.
  2. In their universe, Gwen doesn't resemble Theresa, correct?  So, Gwen couldn't return undercover as Theresa by just tossing on a wig?  And I mean literally tossing on a wig.

They played Ava dumping Brady all wrong for me. They should have let her hand him his ass by telling him how she lost all respect for him by how he's handled things, especially his demented brat of a daughter. On the other hand, Ava toying with EJ was much more fun.

I thought SSH was great. Julie IS over the top so it works for me, and there were honestly moments I was almost scared for poor Dougie.

No, they aren't supposed to resemble each other, same as Ben and Alex aren't.

I really liked the necklace stuff today. I agree that they could've had Tate hold onto this secret a little longer, but the confrontation between Julie and Doug did feel earned. Dare I say, I'm finding this to be a decent little story for the younger set. I like the level at which they're using Tate, Holly, and Doug at the moment.

When Julie said, "I know." MAN! What a moment & only 2 words. SSH killing it!! If the Doug 3 actor were better  it woulda coulda shoulda been amazing. As it was it was still very strong. Excellent reveal. How mad was Julie? How mad is it possible to be?

We got some new establishing shots today. One of which was clearly of Brooklyn and Manhattan, not some little town in the Midwest

But today was good. I liked how a lot of people had someone to confide in or vent to.

Poor Doug III

I know he kinda deserves it but I feel bad for him. The acting isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t bother me as much as some other actor’s do. I’m looking forward to seeing where he goes from here, and what’s going to happens to his relationships with Holly, Julie, etc. And what’s going to happen when he finally finds out about Tate.

And, Doug III looked hot.

Maggie comforting Julie was really nice as well. I’m glad that Julie had someone to talk to about the way she’s feeling about all of this.

Poor Johnny though.

Him/Carson and EJ/DF totally stole the show again. Their scenes were basically a continuation of last week and I was very impressed by them. I imagine a lot of other fans will be impressed by it as well. This conversation was one that the two of them needed to have and I’m really happy that the show didn’t rush it. And I hope they don’t rush it in the future either. Whoever worked on today’s episode did a really good job. It’s just feels more real. And a lot more dynamic and complex than a lot of things that we’ve seen previously. I wish Days would be like this more often.

And as much as I don’t like the whole adoption thing, I like that it’s been tied to everything with EJ. Adding more layers and dynamics to a storyline always makes it better.

I did 2 edits from yesterday's show.

The first one is from Tate's call, all with Julie, also when Doug3 was with her, just under 10 minutes, full credits. As you can imagine I don't feel I can post it, because of S*ny's aggressive c*pyright strikes. However, I can put it in my dropbox & share it person to person. If you want it, PM me.

The 2nd one is Marlena, Patch & the John Black flashback. Same situation. You know what to do.

Johnny, a bit of advice for a dad-to-be who has only had one job in his adult lifetime, maybe he should ask for a settlement from EJ before closing the door on that side of the family?

And I think we all agree that the Amy conflict makes no sense.  She's saying to two teenagers that unless they vet a couple to adopt their baby, then they must raise it for the next 18 years?!?  Why would anyone listen to her?

I mean, even if Amy kicks Sophia out, we saw that Pauline treats the homeless in Salem to free pastries every morning, so it is not that bad.

What a great opening scene

For more than one reason lol Holly and Doug III do have chemistry and I enjoy their scenes together. Doug III meeting Sophia and applying for a job at The Bistro could be interesting as well, especially with what Sophia was hinting at today. And he seemed to have more of an edge too.

I particularly enjoyed Tate and Holly’s fight. It was taken seriously and not written like a big joke, which was definitely the right decision. Holly really let him have it lol and now that they seem to be breaking up, I wonder where they’re going to go from here.

As for Leo’s article, I’m actually not minding the fallout to all of it. I think they should have built it up a little bit more but I’m interested in seeing where this could lead to for everybody. This is effecting more characters than I thought it would and I think that’s a good thing.

I have mixed feelings about this new arc in the Kiriakis family storyline though, mostly because I fear that it’s going to make Stephanie and Philip look stupid in order to make Alex look good once again and it shouldn’t be like that. Hopefully, things will change soon.

And I do still enjoy Stephanie and Sarah’s friendship though, despite Sarah being a little dumb today

date: Wednesday, June 4 | Sara A. Bible, Danielle Paige | Phideaux Xavier Anita is definitely lost in space. The space of her own mind and history. Oh, hello, miss eye-sex at the bar of Uptown! I see you eye-sexing Ms Chelsea! We love to see it. Shanice stopped Dana dead in her tracks. Good on her. It comes out: Barbara was the fourth Articulette, started the group, came up with the name, etc. Dante Greene is about to become the most hated man to exist in this universe, and that's a high-level position that many covet. I appreciate seeing Anita own up to her wrongdoings and that Vernon is still by her side. So, Sharon wants to use Anita for her own benefit, and that does surprise me. That ugliness is right there. At least Tracy, outwardly, seems more open to forgiving Anita and reuniting for the one-off concert. I had a feeling it might've been a stroke (or mini-stroke) but did not want to admit it. It hits close to home for me. Very close. Oh, that glimmer and gleam in Bill's eye and that ever-so-slight smirk on his face of Dani checking on him at the hospital. Yeah. He's still got it for her. Vernon continues to be a wise man with some wisdom unlike any other, and I love that he's getting through to Anita. Ugh. Sharon, you're ugly, ugly, ugly. You will reap what you sow. That's right, child bride, watch the woman that knows your husband better than you ever could. Katherine, mama, sit down and be careful. Now this is in the firm hands of Jacob and the police department. Dana, barking up Andre's tree. She works fast. Like a bitch in heat, fast. The one thing Tracy has with Anita that unites them is their love for Barbara and acknowledging her as part of the Articulette's history. Andre, you big dumb dumb. You never saw the suspect the footage before the police can. Ugh. Notes: For the first time in a while, we see Tide and get a commercial right after.
    • I feel like they've worked out the kinks with most of the wigs (notably: Anita, Kat & Chelsea) but they still haven't gotten it right with Naomi. They need to cut her a custom hairline to account for her widows peak. I also don't think you can do a side part without addressing that.
    • There's nothing about the Kyle/Claire pairing that makes me say "Damn, I really want them together."   Yep. Everything interesting about her was swept away.   We were supposed to be moved by that bracelet, but all I could think of was "We never see these kids." Oh, and hearing Harrison had a charm was LOL   Exactly. It's vets rinsing and repeating all the old hits. Josh Griffith thinks honoring history means giving us the same stories over again. Where are the young people on this show? WTH is going on? Cole is a perfect example to represent everything JG is. He does reference history and bring characters back, but it's invariably a huge disappointment. Cole has done NOTHING since his return. Now he's sick, and instead of us worrying about him, we're smirking because these wealthy people won't call a doctor. I don't think anyone cares if he lives or dies.   Complete disaster. The Alexander Dumas story is the worst of all. ALL this buildup for ALL these months -- you just know it's going to land with a thud. Even the best writer couldn't follow through with something good. Will any of it matter? Two days after we see all these shocked faces when Dumas appears, we'll be back to talking about takeovers and changes in job titles.   None of this will change unless Josh Griffith is fired, and unfortunately, the ratings aren't calling for a firing. I will never understand why Y&R and B&B are immune to long periods of relly bad storytelling.
    • I find Kat annoying but Colby plays the part well! I do like the antagonism between Kat/Eva and Kat/Leslie.  Leslie has balls. I found it a bit annoying at first, but at least the writers are keeping it as a throughline. The "twist" of Eva hiding the evidence to protect Leslie was nice. I hope it's a way to keep Leslie going longer. I was afraid she'd get written into a corner and she's one of the best finds of the show.  Tamara is nailing her scenes. I was losing interest in the Articulettes, but Barbara's suicide and now Sharon wanting to use the reunion to push herself at Anita's expense have me interested again.  Nice to see Dani tone it down with Bill and Hayley.

        Naomi's wig is sliding!
    • Uh oh, is Bill giving Dani some hope here? He appreciated her concern, so it's not all hate there. Hayley doesn't seem so pleased.

This dumb bish is leaving a trail of witnesses to corroborate her crashing out
    • For all of Kat's interest in "true crime" shows, she doesn't seem to understand some things.  I mean, you don't tell the suspect your suspicions too early -- you don't want the suspect to cover it up before there's enough for an arrest.  Kat shouldn't have told Leslie that she'd found the jacket and the receipts.
