This soap is go grounded and believable. In some ways like an old fashioned soap opera (and I mean that as a compliment).  It's not crazy over the top or campy.  I'm loving it.

handwaving re soap characters’ ages is part of the deal. but, ishe repeating that she was 19 and it’s been more than 30 years, which keeps reminding viewers.

Lots of people in real life do not look their ages. When I was in my 30s and got told I looked like a teenager. It's fairly common

Now I have to watch episodes 2 and 3, and read back all those pages!

Ep 3 Amazing!!!

Each episode gets better and better. 

A nice little triangle forming between Dani/Bill/Hayley. I love him with both women. The more POVs they get I relate to them.

Nicole is black girl excellence /black girl magic, and the regular girls can't handle it. LOL! Soap gods protect my Queen and her beautiful family at all costs.

Andre could be hiding from someone.

That was a great scene between the working class at the diner. I love them together.

The actress who plays Dana has depth. She made the most of all of her little scenes. 

Theirs a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding the characters and I love it. Who are the two guys in the car?

It's always wonderful to see family meetings on soaps. It really takes me back to the great days.

Anita is running the ship, I adore the relationship Papa Dupree has with Dani. 

We got a Sheila Carter on the canvas. I am a happy soap fan right now.

This is a stretch. Karla is 43 and looks like she could be late 30s. i dont buy her character as being 50 something looking like she's late 30s. There's supposed to be a near 20 year age gap between she and Hayley as her daughter's former bestie and I dont see it bc they look too close in age. Bill definitly looks about 50 so this triangle is off from that standpoint to me

 

YES! Talking about how she goes to choir practice. My azz!
