Ashley's story will make more sense tomorrow. Still boring, but sense.

Vanessa is a weirdo, funny, and a gossiper. I love her. I didn't think I would initially but the more she was on screen with the one-liners, I grew to like her. Lauren is a find!

It is amazing.  Also, seeing the number of variations on "good morning," I think that's right about a nod to ATWT.

Lots of establishment of the Dupree Family which is to be expected in the first episode. It is clear that Bill and Hayley antagonizing Dani has compounded her anger and that makes her not moving on more understandable as it is hard to move forward with people trying to push your buttons.

I like Vanessa - she's definitively one of those characters that can low-key move across the canvas and relay information to others without it feeling forced. Yes, Lauren Buglosi is a bit of a find in that sense. Delivering those one liners can't be easy. 

I don't need them to expand on her character at this point since she serves her purpose, but definitively one to watch.

Ashley and Derek were just jarring because their scenes just zapped the energy out of the episode. These characters and actors are a big fail to me from the onset - I hope they improve. 

It almost felt like CBS mandated a white couple be forced into the first episode to appease a certain segment of the audience…
