What a great opening scene

I had a feeling that Shawn wasn’t going to take advantage of Chanel but I hope whatever’s happening right now continues. It would be good family drama between cousins Shawn and Johnny. But once again, they seem to be rushing it and there’s no need for them to do that. Johnny should have found out in a later episode and the storyline could segue into his jealousy along with Chanel’s anger about Joy.

I like that we were somewhat surprised by all this though. I really thought that something was going to happen between Shawn and Jada in the aftermath of this Fake Rafe crap, so this was unexpected. Tying this all to EJ and Belle and whatever’s going to happen between them would be a great decision as well.

Speaking of EJ and Belle, I liked Marlena’s reaction to finding out about them, even though it did feel a little out of character for her. It’s good drama. They just need to slow the pace down a lot. There’s no reason for them to rush all of this. Again, if that Lady Whistleblower bullshit could play out for a whole week, storylines and story beats that are actually good could play out for longer than one episode.

And I enjoyed Kristen’s trip down memory lane with Johnny, mostly because it didn’t come off as obnoxious or played like a big joke.

And I’m sorry but I still hate Rachel. Just kill the little demon off. Or at least have Brady or somebody tell her what a horrible child she is and that they wish she’d never been born lol I’m tired of her.

I swear I do not think this show has gotten anything right, at all, in a fracking year except for Doug's farewell & Memorial & Julie's grief!

For what? What did Leo do to Kerry? Must be something I have totally forgotten about. Now this sounds like I am taking up for Leo. ARGH. I hate MY show. This is so difficult. Sociologists should write about us, DAYS fans in the 2020s & their cognitive dissonance on a fictional show they've been fans of for over 50 years. There's someone's doctoral dissertation right there.

EVERYONE BE AWARE!  I am going to say something nice about MM's Belle.  I think she and DF are great together.  It irritates me that MM was wasted so long on BB's Shawn when they clearly don't work well together.

Marlena's reaction was a little OTT considering everything her children have done in the last 40 years.  EJ/Belle seem like pretty silly stakes as they are just two single, consensual adults.  But...I also think Marlena should start kicking her working, wealthy children (and their kids) out of her home.

She has?  Well, good on her, lol!  Lord knows I've never been able to stomach Belle (although, the brief period Charity Rahmer played the role provided some unintended comic relief).

I guess I'm the only one who still ships Shawn and Belle, even though I do like EJ and Belle together

It could be really a fun ride for them this year with

And I'm definitely interested in seeing how the new writers are going to handle them, and Shawn.

I can't remember when.  I think actually recently when she found EJ/Belle in bed together lol

I know where Sarah/Xander currently live.  But Xander/Sarah have an apartment with a set.  They moved in to Maggie's "temporarily" because of Sarah's accident.  They didn't move in permanently to my knowledge.  And honestly, technically I believe half the Kirikas mansion is Xander's anyway so they aren't just bunking with Maggie, but rightfully there.

Shawn and Belle just feel tired and forced to me.  The way they explained their current breakup is how I feel about them now.  They just were holding on to something that wasn't there.  I know they are endgame, but it's a bit of a waste when both work better with others.

Wa Wa We Wa - nobody told me that we were getting shirtless Shawn-D today!  That's enough for me to tune in.

Instant blackouts, are so soapy.  When was the last time you knew someone who was able to change for bed, get under the covers, keep their hair nice, but still have no memory of the night before.  Nobody throws up, or has puffy eyes.  They just arise, fresh as a daisy, wondering about the night before.  Yes, they drank a lot of shots, but they were hardly blackout drunk.

Also, why isn't anyone getting ready for the wedding?

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
