Members darraholic
I have to work . I'll be taping the game though so I can watch if them hold the cup. At least it will be DEAD at least until the game is over. It's going to be wild that's for sure Monday night.
Members SpiritualJunkie
What a GREAT game! I missed the national anthems ...I wish I had taped this one! My aunt came over to watch and she kept telling me, "They're gonna score..just watch, they're gonna score!" And every time she said this, they did! She predicted that they'd have a 4th goal (I didn't believe her LOL) but it turned out she was right and now I'm convinced she's psychic. I'm not a big fan of Stephen Harper but that was pretty cool he was at the game! Edmonton is REALLY beating the odds here. Carolina played so crappily...they just blew a 3-1 lead in the series. Edmonton made about twice as many shots on goal. On a superficial note..I always thought Ethan Moreau was a nice-looking guy but when they were interviewing him at the end, me, my mom, and my aunt were gushing over how hot he was. And everytime they panned to MacTavish, my aunt would claim that he was her boyfriend. Man..I can still hear the cheering in the streets! I'm soo glad I'm not scheduled to work Monday! Members darraholic
Ethan Moreau visted my little brothers class two weeks ago. I'm so tempted to call in sick but I can't afford it. Listening to the radio is awesome since the Ched 630 play by play announcers are so better then Cole & Neale.
Members SpiritualJunkie
Your brother is REALLY lucky! What school does he go to? My cousin was telling me yesterday that a teacher at her school's husband is Pisani's cousin! When I'm listening to the radio...it's so easy for me to turn away from it and not pay attention..especially if they're losing a game..lol. Watching on TV is a whole other experience..I feel like I'm glued to it during every second.
Administrator Toups Posted June 18, 2006 Author Administrator Share Posted June 18, 2006 Come on you have to call in sick!! It's freakin GAME 7! GAME 7!! lol I'm watching the games on NBC. Mike Emrick, John Davidson, and Pierre McGuire are really good. Pierre's "behind the glass" is so neat because he tells us what's happening and who's saying what on the players bench. It's really insightful.
Members darraholic
The Seattle NBC feed didn't even have the game. It's on the south side.
Members SpiritualJunkie
Never heard of it. But I'm with Toups...I would soo call in sick if I were you! Watching a taped show would NOT be the same! NBC? Aren't they pro-Carolina? CBC was, too but now they've hopped onto the Edmonton bandwagon. Administrator Toups Posted June 19, 2006 Author Administrator Share Posted June 19, 2006 I don't think they're pro Carolina. Pierre McGuire is a Canadian and also works for TSN, and I know he's rooting for Edmonton (of course he's partial during the broadcast).

Administrator Toups Posted June 20, 2006 Author Administrator Share Posted June 20, 2006 Edmonton had a great run and I want to thank them and the Carolina Hurrincanes for a great playoff season. I still get chills when "We are the champions" is playing and the players raises the cup and kiss it. God I love this game. Canada should be proud of Edmonton and thegreat Canadian players on Carolina like Eric Staal, Cam Ward, Rod Brind'Amour, Mark Recchi. Can't wait to see Staal and Ward represent Canada at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Congrats to Carolina!!
Members SpiritualJunkie
Two things that the Oilers messed up on today: 1) Samsonov being open to shoot but instead passes behind him! 2) Not shooting during the 2-man advantage..you can't score if you don't shoot! Aww, man...I'm so depressed (it's a Cinderella story with a tragic ending!) but at the same time, I'm just so proud that the Oilers beat the odds and made it this far. I remember back when I thought for sure they'd get squashed by Detroit and even now during this series thinking they couldn't win another game being down 3-1 in the series. The fans have also been amazing. They've been behind this team 100%...even though they've lost, there's still some honking going on in the streets. Hopefully, we can keep as many of our players as we can so we can give it another shot next year. Congrats to Carolina for a great series...it's been one hell of a rollercoaster. Members darraholic
I'm so sad but I believe the Oilers can only get better next year. Carolina played a great game and deserved the Stanley Cup. Here's hoping for an all Canadian Final next year
