Political speeches.  Summer Olympics.  I just don't see soaps recovering.  Thank you @Toups

General Hospital new low for viewership this year with 1.835 million viewers. The show has lost 396,000 viewers since the week of 1/15.

Frank Valentini should be fired.

Big drop for Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful I think this may be the lowest rating ever for a FIRST RUN episode of Y&R. I know some of the repeats were lower. I know the Olympics had a big effect but GH only lost 18,000 this week. I am sure their streaming numbers are higher this week if only we knew what they were, probably won't be high enough to make the Nielsen  top 10 for acquired series. I couldn't find a Acquired series chart for LUMINATE/Variety, just Originals

I disagree that Y&R’s ratings drop had to do with the olympics. Y&R was/is boring! That is why the ratings dropped. Nothing is happening. Just a bunch of scenes strung together. YAWN.
