Well, damn. Theresa is actually going to prison. I'm kind of surprised she got such a light sentence and that E.J. even agreed to the plea deal but I guess it's better than nothing, especially since she could have very easily gotten away with her latest crimes. I didn't think the prosecution was going to be able to prove that she committed fraud beyond a reasonable doubt anyway, especially with Konstantin now gone, so the kidnapping was going to be the only crime that they could possibly pin on her.

I mean, this is probably the first time in her entire life that she's ever been held accountable for anything. I really hope that serving time in prison serves as a massive wakeup call and maybe it might allow her to finally turn things around. I have no faith in Ron but maybe at the very least the new writers might be able to give her some nuance that Ron is obviously incapable of giving her even if she actually never ends up getting redeemed.

On the bright side, maybe she will be able to get out just in time for Tate's high school graduation. Let's hope Ron isn't stupid enough to bring her back next year with a stupid WTD storyline and possible custody battle. Theresa needs a long break from this show.

Also, this Fiona storyline feels like a massive waste of time to me. If she's not there to try to get a massive payday from Xander's newfound wealth, then what is she even doing on this show? And if this is the absolute best that they can do for Brady, then at this point they need to bring Chloe back to reunite with Brady and she can usher him off the canvas so that they can finally get the HEA that many fans have been waiting decades for.

Since Theresa seems to be going to jail it makes me wonder why they didn't just use Jen Lilley.  It gave EOB a few more months on the show, but it really wasn't worth much.  They probably could have just pre-taped enough JL's scenes and paced the airing of them to drag it out.

I suppose recasting Tate would have made that impossible though.

Yeah I get that plus add the Tate recast.  I think I worded what I was trying to say wrong.  I don't know why it had to last longer than 12 weeks lol.  I think you realistically could have wrapped most this stuff up quicker and moved on.  It's not like the reveal is even shaking things up that much.

Yeah.  And Alarr got fired and Holly/Tate were gone for months, so I assume things were stalled or changed.  I am sort of like you-with how far ahead they tape and how weirdly the show paces things I can't really know if it was possible to do the whole thing in 12 weeks.

It was not possible, and even Jen Lilley admitted that when she was talking about what was going on. She was told they have twelve-weeks worth of scripts and she/her team even mentioned it was "impossible." Especially, if two-weeks into her four-week return, she had barely seen any of the scripts she thought she'd be getting, especially since Lilley was under the assumption Emily O'Brien was going to be filming for eight weeks as Theresa... which still does not lineup.

Plus, People reported TPTB planned to recast Theresa three-weeks prior to Lilley showing up with O'Brien, so they had things planned out.

Thanks!  I don't think I ever looked at the details.  I just always thought use Lilley around her schedule and do the story or don't use Lilley at all.  If there were already plans to recast it's silly Days made it weird by using JL briefly.   And just let EOB use her own hair.  A blonde wig wasn't fooling anyone that she wasn't the same actress that played Gwen 10 minutes ago.

Well, what's funny is Lilley offered to cut and dye her hair brunette and, they declined, asking her to go more blonde. It's clear they wanted to differentiate Gwen from Theresa, but we don't see them doing that to men. Robert Scott Wilson didn't shave his head or dye his hair... they just did the same thing they did before. It's BAD.

    • If you begin where they suggested (#6077), it's VERY easy to follow because it's right at the beginning of a new storyline.   Another story is winding down, but it's fairly easy to catch on. The central characters in both stories (the one that's ending & the one that's beginning) are members of the Madison family.  The Madisons have recently moved from Hollywood to Monticello.  The father (Owen Madison) is an ex-movie producer.  The mother (Nola Patterson Madison) is a washed-up, alcoholic actress who can no longer get a part in a film.  Owen has a daughter named Paige Madison, and Nola has a son named Brian Madison.  The Madison family left Hollywood primarily because the daughter (Paige) had gotten involved with a group of "renegade" young political activists who stole some guns to furnish to South American revolutionaries.  Paige Madison is being targeted for assassination by various members of the group (known as "the Tobias gang").  As a result, Paige has a full-time body guard, a former Monticello policeman who resigned from the police force because he accidentally shot & killed a 14-year-old boy who was armed with a cap pistol.  As the new plot (a movie called "Mansion of the Damned") takes shape,  the existing plot about Paige, the assassins, and the bodyguard comes to a conclusion.  The other characters on the show are all playing supporting roles to these storylines, and it'll be easy to figure out who they are and how they come into play.
    • Anita said to Leslie what I was always going to wonder. Where can a woman like her go from here? Given the circumstances and all.
    • I think she's her daughter but even if she's not, I can see Nicole forgiving her. The Duprees were kinda painting Eva out to be a victim of her deranged mother today with the way Anita was laying it on think on how horrible a mother she was. Even Nicole used language such as Eva being weaponized against them. She's a psychiatrist and can see that this is a clear case of emotional trauma and manipulation. Nicole is in her feelings right now as she should be but I think she will realize that Eva isnt the villian here and is a victim of sorts on her own
    • I do actually. Nicole seems like the forgiving type; plus she is a Psychiatrist. It is probably easy for her to be sympathetic. Absolutely agree.
    • Dana has proven to be beyond unhinged from day one.
    • I'm just guessing, but Eva has to be Nicole's daughter. I don't see Nicole forgiving Eva for her betrayal. Unless she winds up being her daughter.
    • I did not recall how contentious the interview turned out to be until I re-read it.  In retrospect, good on both of them for allowing it to be published, it is remarkable to read this type of honesty in a soap magazine. http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • Today's show was boring, which means it will score high in the ratings.

    • Correct. And she left Eva alone and vulnerable just like she was 20 plus years ago.
    • Leslie feels betrayed by Eva for choosing Ted and Nicole, with her actions at the party calling her crazy and trying to stop Leslie from exposing Ted.
