Its a very tricky situation. I always think back to Kristoff St John and how Y&R dropping him to recurring lead to a spiral. Based on the podcast Maurice seems to place so much of his own personal value in being Sonny and being the big star. Hearing him say how devastated he was just from the idea of temp recasting the role while he was dealing with his mental issues made me honestly nervous. In another livestream he admitted he thinks this is the only gig he’d be able to keep where they’d be willing to deal with his mental health problems and it made me feel bad for him.

All of that said, looking at the recent ratings numbers and seeing him leading the episode counts with a mostly, and I hate to say it, lackluster performance with this current story, I’d be doing some serious recalculation of Sonny’s role on the canvas. The thing is how do you do that sensitively to MB’s mental health? Sonny’s storylines going forward will be interesting to see.

If Maurice is really placing his own value and self-worth on playing Sonny and being the star of the show, then that's something that he needs to deal with and come to terms with. He can't rely on that gig forever because there is going to come a day, (and that day might be soon for all I know), that GH is not going to be on air anymore. What is he going to do then?

I think the best thing to do at this point is to gradually phase Sonny out of the show by putting him in a supporting role and then eventually write him out altogether by giving him a HEA with Brenda, (personally I don't think he deserves a HEA of any kind and his story should end with him ultimately getting killed off permanently, but I digress). Besides, I'm sure Nina and Carly will do just fine without him, especially Nina. Nina doesn't even need Sonny to remain relevant as a character anyway.

Since when does Nina care about being relevant?!

Sonny's last scene should be dying a hero and saving Port Charles from a bomb or something.

At this point I don't see his purpose on the show. I don't buy him as a patriarch and I don't care about his love life at all. He would be ok as part of umbrella storylines involving the community.

It's a good and valid question. My answer remains the same as before: You do it by bringing back Brenda and marrying them off, and letting VM lead most of their joint or separate story. That, Maurice could live with.

You know I agree with this, but it really seems like it would solve the Sonny/MB problem.  Sonny/MB would get that automatic buzz/bump just from the pairing, Vanessa could do the heavy lifting in the story because Brenda's just not as played out, Sonny would still be a "lead" as long as he's paired with Brenda, and MB would get a female lead/co-star that he's extremely comfortable with.

It's an easy way to take the load off Mo with the added bonus of helping the character of Sonny gain popularity back.

Yes, I don't know the details but somehow she was alive & had some - I think minor - involvement. Apparently some of the poor execution or stupidity. Not sure. Also don't want to know those details.

There are a million different ways to bring Morgan back.  I can't imagine how on earth Susan Moore would make any sense.  Anyhow, I thought Dan & Chris got canned for their Jason return story not Morgan's.

You are correct. It was a part of their Jason returns story. Add that to this idiocy about Susan Moore and you begin to say Oy!

I'll be honest, if all those characters were really part of their plan I want to read the full breakdown.  I can't imagine how you would connect that all together unless all three were being held hostage by some silly villain.

And again, you are correct. The silly villain was Jennifer Smith but only one had been held hostage, Morgan. And also brainwashed and trained as an assassin. Then she aimed him at Sonny. Jason's part was to save the day.

Carly should have brought Donna to the waiting room. Donna is Kristina's sister.

Michael should also be in the waiting room. Where is he?

Kristen Vaganos has appeared in 8 of the last 9 episodes. The producers clearly have confidence in her.

Kate Mansi has appeared in 10 of the last 12 episodes.

Interesting.  I guess?  I honestly don't know if Jason's current story is much better, but I guess it could be worse lol.

I have not mentioned the truly distasteful part.

It was truly clever to use Donna & Avery to expose the placebos. They think of Daddy's pills as vitamins that make him feel better. I'm very glad that Clement the pharmacist is probably going to tell everything he knows, including Valentin's initiating it, the first minute he is interviewed. He has so much to lose, his license!
