Wow...Now, how many people does that make who have singled out Jane as someone they'd love to work with? Half of the GH cast it would seem.

Thanks for passing that along, Ms. Q. Oh, and I love your new banner.

EDIT: Wish I could join you in the BR. Alas, my computer has issues with it. Moot point at the moment, though, as thunderstorms are rolling in.

Even from vacation...your spoiler ho never really leaves you!!

I was popping onto SD and some insider was on...they gave a tidbit about Tracy sayin she and Edward were on tomorrow. I kept asking and asking and finally here was her reply about next week...

Insider with the tidbits...if you are still around, is tomorrow Tracy's only appearance for the next few weeks or is she on again here and there?

Thanks

Tracyfan

OK....this is it; and only because of your resilience TF.

No, she's on next week too, lulu stuff....

Yay so some Tracy next week!!

Okay one last thing before I go to bed...

some insider was giving info about liz's screentime increasing..

Insider, will Tracy be on more once Luke comes back? I know she wont have a storyline, but will she at least see her airtime increase? Willl she be mixing it up at all with Luke/Scott? It has been so pathetic this summer!! Thanks

Tracyfan

She will be more on with Luke's return for sure

I don't have spoilers on her,it's not easy have infos on characters like Tracy,Monica and Edward

Hmmm...grammar not a strong point!

Seriously lovin' this blue screen. If you want it click on the drop-down menu bottom left to "SON blue". So much prettier.

Okay, partial list of those wanting more JE (from memory not research - that I leave up to Ms.Q). The thing I'm realizing is that most of these have been within the past 6 months. I think maybe the actors are noticing that she isn't being used and they're not happy about that.

KM - Sam

GV - Lucky

JMB - Lulu (she might tell Tracy to go, but Julie loves learning and acting with Jane)

KMc - Robin

JT - Patrick

BA - Spinelli

MW - Kate

CH - Diane

NLG - Alexis (considers Jane one of her closest friends)

JD - Logan

SM - Trevor

KS - Scott

And we all know how TG feels on the subject.

I'm thinking we should make a card or something with the head shots and JE quotes from everyone who wants more acting time with JE, and have the caption "Can this many people be wrong?" Ms.Q... this is up your alley, my dear.

Hooked, so glad you see you're around and up to your duties. I fail miserably compared to you. I'm also happy you're enjoying your vacation. Keep up the stalking!

I didn't find all the ones you mentioned (though I did add Brandon Barash - Johnny - to the list). Also, not all of these are within the last 6 months. But here is what I do have after my extensive research. LOL.

Bradford Anderson (Spinelli)

From an online chat (July 2008):

Is there anybody you like working with that we wouldn't expect immediately? I mean, I know there's Kirsten, Steve, Maurice...but is there anybody that might surprise us?

Jane Elliot. I loved doing scenes with her.. haven't done any in a while.. But boy is she fun!

Brandon Barash (Johnny)

Per In the Zone Radio (July 2008):

Jane is great to work with.

Julie Marie Berman (Lulu)

From an interview on ABC.com (August 2006):

You have a lot of scenes with the younger characters, as well as the more mature ones like Luke and Carly. Which do you enjoy more?

I could never choose. I love working with Tony and Jane and Laura because I learn so much from them. I like feeling like I should work harder, and when you're with the vets - it's game time. But the teen scene is amazing too - they are my peers. I feel like I'm really getting my own story when I work with them versus coming in and out of Luke's story. The younger actors are all so talented and fun to work with - they're the reason I love my job.

From her message board (May 2006):

Her dream co-stars? She’s already living her dream with Jane Elliot (Tracy) and Tony Geary (Luke) rockin'; their scenes.

Josh Duhon (Logan)

From an exit article in one of the magazines (July 2008):

He said he best thing about working on GH was learning from the vets like TG, JE, Kin, etc....

From BuddyTV Exclusive Interview (July 2007):

As a new character, are there any... have you been watching the show and following the show, and are there certain actors or characters that you wish you had scenes with?

...I've done quite a bit of stuff with Maurice Bernard who plays Sonny, worked with Tony Geary and Jane Elliot. I've got a chance to work a lot with Kin Shriner who plays Scotty.

So all those there, that's the history of this show. You know, what's been going on for 15, 20 years, so I've learned a lot. From all those people, doing a lot of things just the other day with Stuart Damon and Jane Elliot, so a lot of fun working with them just from a standpoint. I have the utmost respect for them and the actors, it's just a blast working with them.

Tony Geary (Luke)

From the Daytime Emmy Awards (June 2008):

"...and to my partner in crime, Jane Elliot, who makes me better. She makes me on time. She makes me know my words."

From Carolyn's Corner in Soap Opera Weekly (February 2006):

"I love working with [Jane]. She will bust me up one side and down the other if I'm not on my game - in a professional way - and I love that. I need it because I can be really lazy."

From Soaps In Depth (August 2005):

"Jane's been one of my favorite actresses in this medium forever."

"She's a formidable actress. You have to be on top of your game with Jane because otherwise, she's going to bust you for being less than you should be."

(There's a whole bunch more with TG, but if I tried to find everything out there, I'd be here 'til Christmas).

Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis)

Per her October 2007 fan event:

She complimented Sebastian Roche, Rick Hearst, Tony Geary, and Jane Elliot.

Rick Hearst (Ric)

From SoapTown USA (February 2004):

When asked who he'd like to work with more at GH..."I'd love to trade barbs with Jane Elliot (Tracy). She is a force to be reckoned with, my friend," he says emphatically.

Carolyn Hennessey (Diane)

From her message board (May 2008):

I have really been glad to see Diane mix it up with some other characters. Was it fun to work with Tony, Jane, etc at the Haunted Star opening? I know the dialogue was brief, but was glad to see you pop up again the night the casino was shut down last week and you had a scene with Tony again! Very cool!

Tony is fabulous...so very laid-back. So mellow. Jane is a spot-on professional...teased me a great deal about me wanting the prop. guys to keep refilling my pretzel bowl. Then she started nibbling herself. Loved sitting next to Sebastian at the blackjack table. Kept stealing his chips when he wasn't looking.

From her message board (February 2008):

There was a spoiler dropped somewhere that said Tracy hires Diane to file a lawsuit. Do you have any upcoming scenes with Tracy? I would love to see a girl's night out with Tracy, Diane and Alexis all bashing men!

Well, if I do have a scene with Tracy...I don't know about it yet. But, I'm with you...I would LOVE me some Jane time!

She's the one person...besides Tony...that I would love to work with.

The writer's could really do some very interesting things with us. And NLG. And MW.

Stephen Macht (Trevor)

From BlogTalk Radio Show (May 2008):

Stephen loves Jane and Nancy and was so happy he got to have scenes with them.

Kelly Monaco (Sam)

From her fan event in April 2008:

When she was at our table she gushed about Greg and Jane. She really likes Jane and thinks Tracy is one of the best characters and Jane one of the best actress. She talked about how cute Greg is and on of the best guys ever. If she ever got arrested she would call him because she knows she can always count on him, lol.

From her fan event in March 2006:

When asked who she wanted to work with (that she normally doesn't), she said Tony Geary and Jane Elliot.

Jason Thompson (Patrick)

From Soap Opera Digest Round Up (June 2008):

If you had to live in a house with three of your co-stars for a reality show, which 3 would you pick?

...Jane because she's absolutely hilarious…

From the "Scrubs" event in November 2007:

Jason would like to work with Jane Elliot.

Greg Vaughan (Lucky)

Per Stardish Radio Interview in July 2008:

Greg stated that he loves Jane.

Megan Ward (Kate)

From Soap Opera Digest (April 2008):

Her favorite GH Story throughout the years is Luke and Tracy.

Ah.... you are a force to be reckoned with also, my dear.

I have to pick the screamers up from daycamp by 3:30, and since I severely f--ked up yesterday, I can't be late today. So, I can only recap if TQ is on in the first 20-30 minutes.

Ms.Q, can you cover? And anyone else that's around.

I will try, but we got some thunderstorms coming through... I'd rely on my battery, but it has a short life. Grrr.

So far, we have...

Segment 1: NO TRACY. But Jason arrives at the rehab center, wishes Monica well, and tells her he won't be able to see her once she gets home. Monica assumes it's because it's too dangerous, but she has a simple solution.

Segment 2: NO TRACY. Monica and Jason discuss Jason leaving the mob. Jason doesn't want to argue. He wonders if Monica is going to be all right. She is going to take one day at a time. She switches the conversation to Jason. She has a problem with his life. Jason states it was his choice. She corrects him, telling him he didn't have a choice. Mentions the painful damage of it all...

OT: Just rain here right now... No storms, yet.

Segment 3: NO TRACY. Monica wants Jason to wonder about things that didn't happen. Jason doesn't see the point. Monica mentions that Sonny took all his options away from him. Sonny is supposedly this honorable, loyal friend, but he has shown that he is none of those things. Monica insists that he is not worthy of Jason's loyalty.

Segment 4: TRACY. This might have been one of the longest scenes of the episode so far. I can't remember all that happened. First up, Tracy's hair is good enough. Outfit is the one she wore on Christmas. So! Alice, Edward, and Tracy are in the den (or the living room). Edward is making sure that Cook has prepared all of Monica's favorite dishes. This is going to be a difficult period of adjustment. She is returning to her real life, so no fighting. Tracy says fighting IS real life. She does not have the time or energy to coddle Monica. Edward is disappointed in her. Insists that Tracy pushed her to the brink.with the malpractice suit. Tracy reminds him that she practically killed her husband. Edward uses this as an opportunity to ask Tracy where the reprobate is. That's not the point. Edward agrees, stating the point is Monica is family. Alice is listening to what's happening the foyer. She hears something, tells them all that Monica is here, as Scott enters. Turns out it wasn't Monica coming through the door. Scott is on the warpath. He wants justice for his dead son. He is interested in information on Lulu. He suspects that she called Tracy for help. Edward steps him. Scott threatens him with going to jail for Luke's daughter. Tracy wants to know why Scott is playing father now. Alice notes that it's not about Logan. It's about Mr. Scotty using Lulu to get back at Luke. Tracy seems to agree that it's revenge on Luke for taking Laura away from him. Scotty goes back to Lulu and how he's going to prosecute her. Enter Monica who kind of smiles. The Q's go silent.

Segment 5: TRACY. Monica tells them not to knock themselves out, noting that no one is welcoming her home. Edward starts to. Alice carefully leads her to the sofa, wanting her to rest. Monica is not amused. It was rehab, not an old folk's home. Scotty is still around. Tracy wants Alice to do her signature move on him, the spinning impaler. Scott insists that throwing him out isn't going to do any good. He is going to have all of them arrested. Monica: "Ooh, happy days." Scott retracts his statement, saying "except Monica." He explains that Lulu was living here while she was planning Johnny's escape. That makes them guilty of aiding and abetting. Scotty takes a drink and disappointedly makes note that it is water. It goes quiet. The Q's exchange glances with Monica. Monica gets the conversation going again, saying that this is her house and Scott is trespassing. Alice is about to do her moves on him. Scott tells them all he is going to come back with police. The Q's tell him to bring back up. Tracy asks Monica how it feels to be back. Monica tells her that it's like she stepped into a house of morons. The remaining Q's give Monica their best WTF face.

Segment 6: TRACY. Monica makes note of the water. If this weren't so insulting, it would be laughable. Edward just didn't want her to to have to face temptation. Monica wonders if there is root beer where the scotch is supposed to be. She tells them you can't hide alcohol from a dedicated drunk. Tracy says she sounds like an expert. Alice steps in saying that she doesn't think that's the way--Tracy shuts her up, saying she's not paid to think. Tracy tells Monica that there was booze all over the house after Monica left. Booze in every water bottle. Edward said Cook almost burned down the house using water that was booze to put out a fire. Monica notes that she should have used a fire extinguisher. Monica reminds them all that's it's her house, and if it burns down, so be it. Edward tells her that they are family; they want to stand by her. Monica: Then stand by me. Don't condescend me. Don't talk down to me. Don't walk on egg shells. Edward and Tracy agree, but Tracy wants to know why she won't drop the childish habit of stating "It's my house." Monica: Because it is my house, Alan gave it me... Bickering ensues. It's hard to make out who says what.

Segment 7: NO TRACY.

Well, that's all 'til next week, folks!

The actual quote from the morning tv show interview had something to do with Jane - after a great pause - being one of those who 'mothered' her.

Hope you enjoy your day, Hooked. It looks like all the TQ action will be at the end of the programme today.

Tracy on 3rd scene. Eddie telling her not to fight with Monica, Tracy says that's what they do. More dialogue that I haven't time to tell you... Scott comes in railing about Logan/Lulu. None of them buy it and Alice calls him out of grieving father act. Monica walks in and it's quiet and completely out of character.

Rings prominent, Tracy not worried about Lulu or Luke apparently as she flips through magazine.

Off for kids

    • 6-6   Hmmmm. Not my favorite of the week. However, it showed the strength of Jazmen's script writing against RC's breakdown. And he's good enough to rise above almost all of RC's tics. Though I guess the real question would be would I have caught 'Carl' author thing if I had not heard it mentioned here?

Please register in order to view this content

I felt the stories moved and while there were situations, they weren't the slapsticky I would expect from a RC breakdown. Well-done, Jazmen.   I guess I liked it on a second viewing. I'm just sorry that outside of Bill's subplot and Chelesa's love life C plot, it did not continue the majority of the stories that were going on this week. I still liked what I got so I guess it was worth it for potential flow interruption. Though I have to note that Eva and Kat have been dancing around each other all week and since it is a by-product of the SilkPress storyline, I love how the story can be used separate from the main part of that plot, which kept this episode with a thread attached to the main stories of this week.   It has been a minute since I saw a situation where a character has to get into someone's room and it seems plausible. Of course, Kat has to use her family name. That said...those scenes did not seem implausible at all, but that could be my industry experience showing. Meanwhile, Eva and Tomas continue to grow closer. But even I had to side-eye when he finally declared his interest for Kat. Because it seem like he had been working hard to give mixed signals to Eva and Kat. And NOW he's devoted to Kat? And I am smh at Kat thinking Eva is the one who ran Laura off the road now. Just le sigh. BUT keeps their rivalry going if she accuses Eva and it turns out to be false. Eva will be looking for the payback. And she will be justified.   I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed the Doug/Vanessa/Joey scenes. I've mentioned it before, but of all the B stories, it was the only one that was given enough room to grow and had a build to it. And you could cut the tension in that room with a knife. Everyone gave a good performance. You could see the distance between Doug and Vanessa. And for all that drama...there still was more to play with the other shoe dropping of Doug finding out Vanessa and Joey slept together. Just juicy. Even if the end goal apparently seems to be money laundering.   Lord...Bill wasn't really even out of the hospital for an episode without having to go back in again, was he? lol. Good to see his separate story progressing.    Same for Chelesa and her love life. I'm not sure if Naomi is right. That said, I do like the cliffhanger of Mystery Woman being Bill's doctor. Not to mention Kat with the evidence.
    • Speaking of 1986, YT recommended me some 1986 episodes revolving around Kyle/Reva/Maeve/Fletcher/Cain. What struck me most about the episodes is Zimmer seems at a loss. This does not feel like Reva at all. Was Kyle always such an a-hole? Why was the pairing so popular? He's so unlikeable, and Malloy's theatrical acting does not help matters. Jay Hammer is extremely charming as Fletcher--did they ever try Reva and Fletcher? The real star of these episodes is Leslie Denniston. When she tells Kyle she wants a divorce, it's a fantastic scene and Denniston is putting in some great work while the stuff around her is just weird and off-putting.
    • The Day Of The Jackal author Frederick Forsyth dies
    • 6-5   Case in point...lol.   Kat and Jacob can soooo have a spinoff. Just watching her being adamant that Eva is up to no-good while Jacob continues to try to play straight man to the craziness continued to be a hoot to watch. And the sad part is that Kat is on the right trail, just following the wrong clues. Or worse coming to the wrong conclusion. All because of her dislike for Eva.    Meanwhile, Eva continued to make inroads. I know I have said this since the start of the show, but I love how for the most part, the writers write the characters in gray. Not completely white. Not completely black. Most of the characters have moments where they resonate with the audience and then have moments where they are unlikeable. Like technically, Eva should be a pariah. I like that she knows this, understands this, and still shows remorse and still tries to work to get back the lost trust. It makes her so rootable. And played by a star is a bonus.

Please register in order to view this content

It is also what makes the rivalry between Eva and Kat so much fun to watch. Also played by a star. Neither one is perfect really, but they are oh so watchable and a nice by-product of the SilkPress storyline.    Same for Anita. I love the regal coldness TT has given to the role. The sense of ruthlessness beneath the beautiful face. And yeah it can be a turn-off. And it's been nice to see a softer side to her throughout this story of her and her bandmates. She is far from perfect. She...is also NOT a doormat so it was great to watch her versus her bandmates this episode.    I like the run-in between NuTed and Nicole. I'm getting used to NuTed. And Nicole's presence has been a little too light for my liking. I can only assume that is to build to the next Nicole vs Silk Press Sheila confrontation which rumor has it will be another good one.    Speaking of which...LAURA IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!!!! Praise it be!!! And I thought it was so adorable that Nicole, Kat, and Mona were on hand to welcome her back. I liked that Laura has an open mind toward Eva (unlike her feelings toward SilkPress). Another layer to add to the Eva vs Kat rivalry.
    • Victoria Principal clearly stacked her Dallas coins real good. In the grand scheme of things, she was smart to walk away from Dallas when she did.
    • When Robert Calhoun became EP I thought GL was finally hitting its stride after some pretty rough years. Unfortunately the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run did not reflect the quality of the show.
    • There was a five week break between the last Friday episode and the Thursday episodes which were the final four episodes. I have a feeling the final four episodes were refilmed to wrap up the storylines.
    • Yes, I forgot there was a gap between his exit from GL and his start at ATWT. This almost makes me want to cry. He really turned ATWT around (and good for them). It would have been great if someone had done the same for GL. Can't imagine who. The Dobsons were doing Santa Barbara at this point. I mainly blame Kobe. She may not have been the worst EP they ever had, but she almost totally destroyed the Bauers and decimated much of the rest of the cast, sometimes for egotistical reasons. That was a huge mistake and made it that much harder for the show to recover.
