In addition to reporting weekly ratings information for all daytime broadcast shows and the three daytime soaps, Soap Opera Network is happy to announce that we will once again be able to share daytime ratings among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 viewers, the two primary sales demographics used to sell advertising rates for daytime television programming. This marks the first time we’ve been able to share this information since at least March 2020.

In addition to a breakdown of how daytime broadcast is performing among the two key women demos, we’re also getting a rare look at how the broadcast soaps are performing among Females 12-17 and Women 18-34, plus season-to-date in each category.

For those seeking a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of May 6-10, 2024 among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, click here. You can also view an in-depth breakdown of daytime soaps performed against each other here.

Happy this content seems to be well received. Will continue to share as consistently as possible.

Well if you do the math, there's gay men somewhere among the Total Viewers after subtracting Women 18-49, Women 18-34 and Women 25-54 by some miracle formula.

The Nielsen ratings is what brought me to SON.. I was looking for updated numbers and other boards were behind a week or two. I decided to Google updated soap ratings and SON popped up. I was like what is SON?

Happy early anniversary!'

Ironically, your seeking out ratings and finding SON is the way I found it 22 years ago, although it was through an Inside the Web (pre-Google) search result that got me here. Hahaha.

    • Jennifer Brooks had insisted that life go on since all her family knew that death might be eminent for her. Brock had given them a philosophy by which to live. "God grant me the serenity to accept that which I cannot change, the courage to change that which I am able and the wisdom to know the difference." Lorie asked her father to let her give a big party for the family and friends to celebrate her parents' thirtieth wedding an-niversary. He disapproved until Lorie said this was not a reminder of how little time there was, but a celebration of the life they had had together. Jennifer was pleased and looked forward to the party.  That evening, Stuart gave Jennifer her anniversary gift before the party rather than after. It was a diamond heart pendant to symbolize the heart he gave her long ago — his own. Lance and Lorie gave them a trip to Paris as a gift. Stuart had wanted to take Jennifer away, but she wouldn't leave the girls with their problems. The party was such a success that Jennifer told Stuart that this had been the most wonderful night of her life. Jennifer slipped away in Stuart's arms that night, clutching her pendant.  Stuart called Lorie who located all her sisters and asked them to meet at their parents'. He explained that their mother felt no pain and was happy as she passed peacefully away. Peggy felt she should have been home for her mother rather than visiting a friend, but Stuart said it was sudden. Lorie blamed herself for giving the party which was probably too much. Stuart told her how much that party meant to Jennifer. Brock came by to tell them that Jennifer had him draw up instructions for her burial and wanted only her family with her. He also had a letter for Stuart. She wrote him this love letter in case she didn't have the opportunity to tell him in person how much their life together had meant to her and this is why she wanted him to remarry.  Snapper visited his mother after he learned of Jennifer's death. He felt he hadn't seen enough of her recently.  After the funeral, Peggy told her sisters that she would not be going away to school. She was the only one left to care for their father because Chris and Lorie had husbands and Leslie had a career. Stuart insisted that Peggy finish packing and catch her plane to school as planned.  Chris was worried about her father after Snapper told her to keep an eye on him because grieving husbands could become ill as they didn't remember to eat. She called to insist that she was coming over to fix his dinner and found that Liz was there. Liz asked him for an extra key so that she could do the laundry and cleaning to repay him for earlier kindnesses.
    • I would assume "friends of Ripa" would come into play.

    • I'm aware of that but I was more curious about which characters were going to be included and what actors they were loooking at.
    • Harper > Melgar (yes, I said it) I happen to be in the lonely camp of actually liking Harper as Jordan, although I still believe Jordan, as a character, could easily be eliminated from the canvas, and I would be A-OK with it. Honestly, the character of Jordan went from interesting to expendable the moment she was taken out of the Jerome circle and made a law enforcement agent. I'm not age-shaming Finola Hughes either. It simply comes down to the characters at this point. To go from interacting with David Hayward and Edmund on AMC to Jason and Sonny on GH... is an actual choice. Hell, I'd even add Valentin to that list.

    • Much like I always say Tanisha Harper is very pretty, so was Lilly Melgar.  Very pretty lol. She wore very cute slip dresses that young carolineg adored lol.  She's probably not even a bad actress. Lily (the character) had 0 charisma and when you are working with 90's Mo and Vanessa, and, uh...Ricky Martin you need some spark.  People can have friends of all ages and I am not age shaming Anna or Finola, but Jason/Sonny are your daughter's friends.  My mother isn't friends with my friends or at least doesn't actively hang out with them lol. Yeah, I don't really care if Emma has scenes with Sonny.  I am just waiting for her to bust out the "Uncle Sonny" nickname.
    • Oh see, I remember now. Thank you; I do recall those scenes standing out in my head! Plus, the all-too-underutilised Chaunteé Schuler as Bonnie. That was a surprising, yet good, recast.
    • Well, darn, I did not remember he played Craig. Paul, wrong about Lindstrom and P&G.
    • So whats the alternative, everyone be demure and have no negative qualities? There are tons o characters and none o this describes most o them. The show has a wide range of characters. Some good, some bad and some a bit of both. Its a BLACK soap opera. We need black villians that cause trouble and move the stories along
    • I highly doubt it. I recall Tunie's scenes being limited to a hotel room with Bonnie. By that time both Bonnie and Jessica had been severely diminished on the canvas.

I think her friendships with Jason and Sonny stem from Robin's loyalty to them, but to me, that isn't enough for them to be friends. Anna is a grown-ass adult, and she can make her own decisions; that'd be like saying Robin needs to be friendly with anyone in Anna's life due to her loyalty to them. And I don't believe so. And I hope they never do.
