From that segment, it seems like Julie Hanna Carruthers was very much in charge of leading production. I thought most of her AMC run and Port Charles were horribly lit under her watch, tbh. Whatever, hoping, it looks better once it goes through post-production.

Yeah I’ve never been a JHC fan and have been trying to ignore her involvement tbh (same with ReRon). To her credit the HD set builds for AMC during the LA era were pretty decent and she seems to have carried that over with BTG.

I always found AMC had the best high definition production of the ABC soaps. It was beautiful.

I totally agree with you about AMC's move to HD and California. I am a big fan of JHC from her Santa Barbara days. I also loved her as Executive Producer of Port Charles and AMC. I am happy she's with BTG.

I'm happy she's at Beyond the Gates, as well. I thought her handling of moving from New York to California was very well-done, as well, all things considered (re: budget).

I found the promo a little cliche with the couple writhing around and a face slap. I get they need visuals to get attention, but a lot of viewers might think 'seen that all before' as it had an 80's soap feel.

as someone who grew up (and still pine for:) soaps before pre luke, laura, and dynasty, sharing your concern.

CBS can use their try me promos with BTG.

These promos are mesmerising, I love them! "Scheming every minute, scheming every hour..."

I realize who these two are and what show they come from but imagine a courthouse scene like this with patriarch Vernon and his ex son-in-law Bill. So funny. I think BTG is going to be FULL of surprises though.
