I agree about the look of the show in the promo. A stark look that made it feel as though the show was being done live.

Tape can look cheap unless the lighting/post production deals with it. Definitely needs to be addressed that if that is what we are going to see onscreen.

A few location shots included. Hopefully this will be a regular thing.

I've probably been conditioned from a lifetime of watching sitcoms - where you're lucky if you see two standing sets and a "swing set" every episode - so it never bothers me to see how greatly reduced the number of sets on soaps have become.  It's like SORAS'ing; it's embarrassing, but also, a necessary evil.

BTG could tape every scene in the same utility closet (hi, DAYS!).  As long as the characters are multi-dimensional, I don't care.

Lighting is very very important and sadly overlooked. Not only in daytime. I remember "And Just Like That" getting criticized for the reality-tv aesthetic some of the scenes had in comparison to the cinematic OG seasons of Sex and the city. People were commenting about it on social media and the boards asking "What happened and why is everything so bright and shiny?"

On the other side are people who have grown so used to bad or harsh lighting in all kinds of productions... that in 2025, they don't even notice or care. Which is fine for them, I guess. I wished I was like that.

Bold, for example... has had some brutal mistakes with lighting in the past decade or so. The reason nobody is talking about this is because the bad writing OUTSHINES the bad lighting and people don't even care.  All of this is more and more apparent due to the fact that we watch all of this in FHD and mistakes are harder to miss. I've seen stunningly beautiful KKL lit so hardcore and so reality-tv-showish that I would probably quit my job if I see my face lit like that. The past few years have especially off-moments. Makes the classic years look like golden-age Hollywood blockbusters and the new era - low budget Lifetime movie called "The Brooke Logan Story".

I second the opinion that this has to be addressed or changed in post-production. It's easy to fix and adjust... to a lot more stunning and natural image.

Lol. But looking so similar to The Haves and The Have Nots. Somehow I think BTG is going to be crazier and racier than Tyler Perry's first real claim to fame.

I never had an issue with Tyler Perry's stuff being campy or racy - frankly, those are the times we live in; and it's my prerogative to watch or not watch - but I DID have an issue with it being colorist, homophobic and misogynistic, written by someone who knew nothing about storytelling.

It's too bad Dynasty(2017) was canceled before BTG was greenlit. Somehow those sets would've worked perfectly for this concept! I'd rather have a show more campy, scandalous, and fun than heavy, dull, and dreary.

If the characters, actors and stories are good, the lighting/sets simply won't matter. A new soap is a risky investment. Better to focus on good writers and actors than sets/lighting.

When the show is a hit, CBS will invest more. I'm excited!

This KM stan is thrilled to see her featured so prominently! TT is a legend.

The promo has 2K views on YT. Hopefully it's getting better exposure on bigger socials like TikTok and X.

I do hope they tighten the production window from filming 3+ months in advance. Anyone know how that's going to work?

I want to focus on both. Acting, story, characters... AND sets, wardrobe, lighting too. Fashion has been my biggest hobby and passion through my whole life, so I will always focus on that.  Sets - I've grown in theatre (that's what I've studied) and some of my best friends are theatre and film set designers. One of my dearest friends is an editor that makes documentaries. I love to look at these details. And... that's the beauty of living in a free society - different people have the freedom to focus on different things and that's how you get the whole picture.

    • Yes and I also loved how she focused on Chelsea and Naomi when she spilled Bill's involvement in all of this.
    • Danny: Don't drink it. Just hold it. Rocco drinks three laced cups.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
