1. No real lore, just that CBS abandoned "CBS Daytime" in their promos years ago when they consolidated the division into CBS Entertainment. They even abandoned the YouTube and social media channels on X/Twitter and Instagram. It's just been a long time since we've heard "CBS Daytime."

2. That's Tamara Tunie.

200 pages y'all.

Let's all keep in mind that the 30 second promo is primarily based on clips from the first episode of the series. Not much can be revealed this early, and the outdoor shots aren't expected to go beyond the first week or so as they did outdoor scenic shots in the first couple of days following the table read.

The only clips shown outside of S1E1 were what is presumed clips of the cast as shown in the opening sequence.

That promo looks amazing and it looks like from a production standpoint, Atlanta was a smart choice. Compared to how Y&R and B&B look these days, it's nice to see a soap with such expansive sets.

I hope they're able to weave location shooting in throughout and not just at the beginning. Happy they're starting to promote it.

What do the people who are disappointed... expected to see in this promo?! It literally is couple of shots and just hints and teases and atmosphere, vibe. Nothing more. I'm quite perplexed how these 20 seconds can create such a feeling of it being a "parody" or "trashy".

Did we all watch the same 20-30 seconds... ?

This is not enough to make such statements in my opinion. I'm not saying you HAVE TO LIKE IT... but saying that it looks like a soap parody... is a stretch.

Not going to judge from that teaser.

Looks like the opening will feature the cast in the 'turn and gaze into camera' trope.

Guess there's a belief that helps viewers get into the characters but I also like an opening w/o the actors a la Days.

Not sure about Tamara with long locks. And the silver hair with matching suit?

I'm sorry, but weren't you the person that wanted the show to look like "Fashion House"...

some long forgotten primetime soap... which... from what I remember was incredibly trashy and cheap looking. Thank God... from these 20 seconds... BTG looks NOTHING like it. THANK GOD.  So... you liked the style of "Fashion House" on one hand, but just from this 20 second promo... you think BTG almost looks like a parody?

I mean... we are 20 seconds in... and already... some people are spewing words like "trashy" and "parody".

Jesus Christ Almighty.

People should be allowed to have negative opinions guys.

I was thrilled to watch the promo. Soap scenes always look  a certain way when watched out of context. Can't wait to watch the first episode. I think I am going to love the intro and the production values look really good.

I can't say enough how happy I am for MVJ. Lets hope that the other soaps will wake up from their coma. GH is the only one still trying.

PS: The "opening" (?) reminds me of ATWT's 2007 intro.

    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
