This will take the show through its 55th season (2027-2028 TV season) and is in line with the last renewal handed to the series in 2020. Amy Reisenbach CBS “‘TheYoung and the Restless’ has been a staple of daytime television for over 50 years, and it is with great pleasure that we will continue that legacy at CBS,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The talented cast and writers deliver compelling performances and stories on a daily basis and have provided iconic moments that have kept the show on top of the ratings and thrilled generations of fans for over five decades. We look forward to seeing what new creative twists and turns they have planned for the folks of Genoa City.” Averaging 3.5 million viewers this season, the drama series remains the most-watched among all daytime scripted programs for a record-breaking 36th season. The series is also the most-watched daytime program among African American viewers. Celebrating several anniversaries this year, including milestone anniversaries for notable anniversaries, including Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), who’s been on the show for 45 years and Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), continuing with the show for his 44th year. Other notable cast anniversaries include Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) at 35 years, followed by Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), who are each celebrating 30 years since they joined the show. Airing weekdays at 12:30-1:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m.-12:30 p..m. PT, “The Young and the Restless” follows the residents of the fictitious Midwestern town of Genoa City, with highlights including over five decades of romances and rivalries between the Newman, Winters and Abbott families. Last year, the series celebrated its 50th anniversary on the air, premiering on March 26, 1973. Full episodes of the series are also available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS app. Produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company in association with Sony Pictures Television, “The Young and the Restless” is executive produced by Josh Griffith, who also serves as the show’s head writer.
