How is he to explain what he just did without being arrested? My guess is that he will quickly return with Ace and say that he was just taking him out for some fresh air. Nikolas will realize--having had a few seconds to think about it--that Spencer will get arrested if Ace disappears. Then he will finally do right by his son and protect him the way a father should. I'm just not sure there is a future for Nikolas as a dynamic player with him in the role, and I am still inclined to retire the character with Tyler gone.
